Chapter 23

After dinner, they went to their respective rooms, Asia knew that fortune was not the type to seek self pity so she decided to give her space. Asia knew her friend was hurt, after all, she had been with Brandon for almost a year now so it was normal. Fortune in her room was on her bed, researching for some information she needed . Her phone beeped indicating that she had received a new message, she looked at the message, it was from an unknown number, who could it be. Fortune directly called the number. "hello" a male deep voice was heard from the other end. "hmm sorry but who am I speaking to? I just received your message few seconds ago" . "so you don't remember my voice even after calling?" fortune was a little lost, who could this person be, "alright, you are speaking to Ashley". "oh sorry I actually didn't have your number" fortune remembered the day when Asia asked him to get the groceries." I'm sorry about my friend, she was just upset that you hit me with your car and by the way, I didn't see you bring the groceries". Brandon replied"actually, on that day, I didn't go to the grocery store because I had an urgent matter that needed me to rush back home immediately. The next day when I came to check up on you, I met your friend and explained everything to her, she understood and also told me to visit you later cause you were still asleep. 

Earlier today evening when I visited  your apartment, I didn't find anyone".  "oh sorry about that, we actually went out but didn't go far". "how are you feeling now?" fortune smiled "I'm fine you don't have to worry". "well then I will visit you tomorrow so that I can see for myself how fine you are". fortune chuckled, "ok good night" she hung up and continued with her research. "Good morning" fortune heard Asia's voice. "fortune please wake up, you need to have your breakfast now or else it will get cold". She thought it was a dream, what did she do to receive breakfast in bed, had something happened. "Asia you didn't have to, and what did I do to get this?". Asia smiled, "well is it wrong to want to give my best friend a good treat?" fortune smiled and shook her head helplessly. "Aren't you late for class?" Asia looked at her time, it was almost 9:30 "no the first class will start at 10, so it's fine, I will leave 15 minutes before 10" Asia responded lazily. fortune got out of bed, freshened up, wore her simple home clothes and prepared to have her breakfast. Asia walked in at this time, "fortune I'm leaving now, take care of yourself and as usual, I will be back at lunchtime" fortune responded lazily "hmm ok alright" she sat in bed enjoying her breakfast like a carefree person. She cleared her plate clean and burped, she was so full that she felt lazy to stand up, if I'm not careful, I'm going to gain weight and become Chubby, I better reduce, fortune thought to herself. The door bell suddenly rang at this time making the lazy fortune have no choice but to see who it was. "I'm coming" Fortune screamed with some irritation. She opened the door without asking who it was and saw the tall and handsome man standing. "Ashley, morning" fortune said with a smile like she wasn't irritated a few seconds ago. "morning, may I come in?" "sorry forgive my manners,please come in" Ashley walked in "make yourself comfortable, what would you like to have, water or juice? sorry we don't have any alcohol here". "no you don't have to worry, a glass of juice will do". fortune nodded and headed straight for the kitchen, made a glass of juice for the young man and served him politely. "do you need anything else?" fortune asked. "no this is fine for now. fortune nodded and sat on the couch not far from him.
