Chapter 33

How could this be, she hadn't heard the doorbell so how could he be in. "fortune you are finally here, at last," Zack said with a smile. "oh I'm sorry, just that I thought you weren't here yet so I took my time". fortune said in an embarrassed tone. Zack chuckled "it's alright don't worry I'm just messing with you, shall we go now?" Fortune nodded, looked at her friends sitting posture, and said, "Asia, we will be leaving now, take care". Asia nodded without shifting her gaze from her laptop. Zack behaved gentlemanly, he opened the passenger's door for her, helped to  fasten her seat belt, got into the car, and drove out. As soon as they arrived, fortune knew this fancy restaurant very well, Brandon would bring her here once in a while. Zack chuckled, knowing Fortune's background, it would have been a natural reflex for her to look around but she just walked like everything was normal  Zack guessed "your ex-boyfriend has brought you here before?" fortune was stunned and smiled "well you guessed right, I have come here a couple of times". Zack nodded, so it's like that, he shrugged and didn't think much.

They had a pleasant evening, a lovely dinner, got to know each other better, and with Zack popping up some jokes, fortune had a smile on her face the whole time. Tomorrow being a Saturday, Zack made sure to ask fortune beforehand if he could pick her up for an outing as Asia and Chris would come along as well. Fortune had no problem and agreed without hesitation. Zack and fortune strolled out of the restaurant in a harmonious way, they were both laughing and having fun, they got into the car and Zack drove out, heading in the direction of Fortune's apartment. At this time, they had no idea what was happening, Brandon kept on  ringing the doorbell continuously at Fortune's apartment "fortune I know you inside just open the door and let me talk to you, I am not going to leave until I talk to you so open the door right now". Brandon was completely drunk at this moment and Asia inside the apartment didn't have the strength to deal with this drunk man. She put on her headsets and started listening to music. 

While driving, Zack suddenly asked, "fortune how are you handling your breakup?". fortune looked at the man who was driving, sighed, and said softly  "actually if I say I wasn't disappointed then I would only be lying. I was very disappointed but I don't believe that a guy like Brandon would make me think all guys are the same. I don't blame him anyway cause it's like this whole thing was not meant to be. It's funny how I feel like I can start dating someone else even right now. I never had any expectations with Brandon, although I honestly had my doubts, I had no way to prove myself right, I couldn't use prejudice. Before I knew it, he was rolling up the sheets with my cousin and told me I wasn't enough for him. I knew he was right because despite being with him all this while, I could feel some distance, it's like he wasn't really happy but couldn't say it" fortune shook her head,  she shrugged feigning indifferently. "don't mind me, these are just my assumptions. I feel like both of us were never open to each other, we were distant from our normal characters. Zack drove into Fortune's yard at this time and the first thing they saw was a man standing at the door with a bottle of wine.
