Chapter 4

For Mrs Shaw, this was like a consolation for all the shame she had to go through because of her daughter's failure. It took Camilla 2-3hours just to get home due to heavy traffic. Before she disembarked from the cab, she said a few words to the driver asking him to wait half an hour so that she could gather up everything she needed then he could drop her off at school. The driver naturally agreed. Without further ado, Camilla rushed into the house and headed straight for her room."my darling you are finally home" at this time, Mrs Shaw spoke. Camilla subconsciously paused and looked back at her mother who was leisurely watching a TV show on the couch "mom please help me pack my bags, you know I have to be in school". Mrs Shaw looked at her daughter with a warm smile"don't worry your luggage is ready, come sit with mum abit longer ".

Camilla was slightly stunned and walked up to her room just to confirm, sure enough her luggage was ready. she happily walked over to her mother's side and sat beside her. "dear tell me, are you going to study medicine like that loony cousin of yours?"

"of course not mom, you know how squeamish I feel at the sight of blood or anything unpleasant, I will go for a simple administrative course which will only take me four years to graduate"."oh good, that's good, the most important thing is that you go to school anyway" Mrs Shaw responded to her daughter. The news of his daughter going to school was like a bombshell to Mr Shaw, he didn't expect such a turn of events in such a short period of time. what did his daughter do in order to get enrolled? he knew asking his wife would be a waste of time and his daughter wouldn't open her mouth either. he thought of his son who had a boisterous character and knew it was no use because he was the last person who would know this.

It's like time flew quickly that Camilla and her mother had to stop their gossip because she to leave. Camilla remembered that she hadn't told her father anything and was a little hesitant about leaving . Mrs Shaw told her daughter that she had everything under control and had nothing to worry about. Her husband was not the type of man who could tolerate such a thing so she made sure her daughter left before her husband got home. An hour later, Mr Shaw pushed the door open with so much force, quickly walked up to his wife who was having a manicure and asked "tell me, what did you do to get your daughter enrolled, I need an explanation now" Mrs Shaw abruptly stood up and looked at her husband without feeling intimidated. They were at loggerheads at this moment and Mrs Shaw responded with a sneer "so you were going to sit back and watch our daughter become the laughing stock of everyone is it? I was compelled to do this without your knowledge because of this pathetic character of yours" Mrs Shaw raised her voice a few decibels. Mr Shaw shook his head disapprovingly and left without saying more. This was too much for him to handle, they just did what they wanted to do without telling him anything.

Finally, fortune and Asia settled in their small apartment which was not far as it was a five minutes walk to school. Both  being medical students, they shared knowledge about what they knew and everything seemed smooth. The next morning, Fortune and Asia went for class and being the first day, they showed great enthusiasm. During lunch break, the two girls took a stroll  around the school after having their lunch. Not far from them, a guy stood in one place and stared at the two girls who were engaged in a serious discussion, his main focus was particularly on fortune who would talk and smile at her friend from time to time. Brandon's legs were glued to the ground as he was spellbound by the beauty in front of him. This is the same girl I saw in class, oh my I must have this girl, I mean I have never been rejected by any girl and she's no exception. Brandon began to think of how he would approach her and decided to give it time just to see what kind of girl he was dealing with.

while fortune and Asia enjoyed their stroll, non of them realized that someone was staring at them and at this time, fortune happened to bump into her cousin. "oh dear cousin, how are you?" Camilla spoke surrounded by two other girls. " hello" fortune responded without a care and stepped forward not wanting to waste so much time on this sly fox cousin of hers. Seeing that fortune was about to leave, Camilla quickly blocked her way and aggressively spoke"you insolent brat dare to talk to your elder cousin in such a way" Camilla spoke out with so much arrogance. Fortune was too lazy to deal with her and smiled,"I'm so sorry elder cousin, I will try to be respectful next time" she stepped at the side and continued to walk forward without giving Camilla the chance to retort. Coincidentally, everything that happened fell into Brandon's eyes and deep down he remonstrated such character. That other girl acted so aggressively all of the sudden. is it a rivalry or something, he wondered and ambled towards the opposite direction.

Asia looked at her friends expressionless face and asked "hey why does your cousin dislike you so much, aren't you suppose to be in good terms?" fortune sighed and shook her head at a loss, she also didn't understand why her cousin disliked her. They walked back to class for their final lessons of the day and after the lessons came to an end, the two girls walked out, before they could go further, they heard a voice from behind "hello, excuse me". The two girls turned and saw a handsome looking guy, he looked about 1.78m tall. Brandon couldn't restrain himself and decided to approach her "my name is Brandon and I'm your classmate, although you probably didn't notice me" he said this and stretched out his hand to greet fortune. For courtesy's sake, fortune stretched out her hand and greeted him. "Well how can I help you?" she asked. "actually I missed the morning classes so I was hoping you could help me out" Brandon had to use this excuse. He didn't expect the girl to have such an intimidating temperament.
