34. Asking for help

Cedric was surprised to see the body of the woman he was sleeping with drooping limply with a purplish face and not moving. He tried to wake her up by patting her pale, cold face.

"Hey, Selena..." Cedric called her name, hoping she would respond. He tried repeatedly to wake her up, but there was no change. Then, Cedric checked her breathing but found that he couldn't feel any air coming out of her nose.

"Oh my, Selena!"

Cedric wrapped his arms around her and tried to feel her pulse, but it felt so weak.

"Bloody hell, what am I doing," Cedric snapped to himself.

The morning sun was already shining its warm rays on the city, but inside Cedric's penthouse, the silence was broken by a deep panic. Selena collapsed in front of him without a word, looking critical instead. His eyes radiated worry and panic as he tried again to wake Selena up.

"Selena! Selena, wake up!" exclaimed Cedric as he gently tried to shake Selena's shoulders. However, there was no response from Selena's limp body.
