Chapter 3
Unknown Occurrence
When the brothers arrived back to the house, they put Xavier to bed. Afterwards, they sat in the other room talking about what had happened... how was it possible for him to just disappear? Ethan was upset about the fact the guards had not noticed anything strange.
“Moose,” Ethan called out to the bodyguard.
“Yes, Sir,” Moose hurriedly entered.
“What happened tonight, that my brother was taken away?”
Sweat formed on his face. “Sir, the young lady who was serving your drinks led him out while you guys were shooting pool. He seemed to be happy to go with her. We believed that this was part of the surprise she said you told her to do.”
The three brothers looked at him in shock. All at once they shouted, “Surprise? What damn surprise?”
Moose was stunned. “I heard her tell him that you, Sir Noah, told her to take Mr. Ethan to the room for a special surprise.”
The three looked once more at each other, their eyes full of anger. Liam stood up and said, “Find out who set us up and who is the girl they put in my brother’s room.”
“Sir, yes, Sir. Right away.” He hurried out.
Once Moose had left the room, the three brothers began to make plans on how to deal with the woman and her family.
“Let’s not tell Xavier about the set-up yet. We will find out what really happened before we tell him. I don’t want to get him riled up when we don’t have any answers.”
Shaking their heads, each of them agreed.
The next morning, when Xavier had awakened, he came downstairs to find everyone having breakfast.
“Well, lover boy, what happened to you?” Noah asked, laughing.
Xavier shook his head as he headed in their direction. He sat down, leaning back with his hands covering his eyes. Once again, he shook his head.
“Guys, I have no idea how I ended up like that. The girl was just as drugged as I was. Felt as if we were set up. So since she helped me, I gave her my ring. When she comes to find me, I will take any responsibility for whatever she needs.”
The brothers were silently looking towards one another, wondering if they should tell him or not. Then silently, Liam shook his head no. He felt it would be better to get the culprit first, then deal with the girl only once she had contacted them. They knew with that ring she would be able to find them with no problem.
They were glad that they had thought it was Ethan, which meant Xavier was still safe.
The next morning, Moose reported to Liam, “Sir, the girl wasn’t part of the staff at the club, and because she was wearing a mask, no one seemed to be able to identify her. We will have the videotape later today.”
Liam stood a few inches away from him. “If you weren’t so loyal to this family, I would have blown your head off right now for allowing my brother to be placed in such a compromising position. Fortunately, he wasn’t hurt.”
Liam spoke to him with blazing eyes.
“Yes, Sir, I do understand, Sir. This will never happen again-"
“You damn right it won’t,” Ethan jumped in. “We can’t afford to be that vulnerable at any point.”
“Sir, I understand. They all had on masks and the area you were in had been closed off. The only people allowed anywhere near that section were personnel, and we had them selected personally by your father,” Moose quickly explained.
Noah, who had been quietly listening, interrupted. “Okay, let’s let it go for now. Getting heated cannot change anything. We know how to deal with it. No one was hurt; we will find the girl and the waitress. We just need to be patient and quiet.”
Ethan sat back down and tried to cool his anger. Liam understood what his brother meant, and he agreed.
Ethan spoke with his teeth gritted. “When I get my hands on that little witch, she will beg for death. She was trying to set me up. I wonder what her reasoning was.”
Chapter 13Emotions at the cabin“Okay, Mother, I shall hold back for now, but I can’t promise for how long. The next time she comes near me, I’m not sure what I’ll do — but I promise you, it won’t be just talking to that girl,” Ethan said. The others only nodded. Xavier couldn’t speak. He was so hurt, rocking back and forth as guilt consumed him. He hadn’t noticed anything was wrong. Every time Bella returned from being with Stella, her behavior had been different — but he never put two and two together.Hana thought back as well. She remembered noticing changes in Bella, but never in a million years had she believed Stella would dare to lay a hand on her grandchild. Rage burned inside her. The more they thought about it, the stronger the urge grew to turn the car around and kill Stella.Liam noticed the silence, heavy with anger.“Okay, everyone, let’s snap out of it. I understand how you feel — I feel the same way. But we must focus. Mom already told us. We must focus.”He started
Chapter 12Bella's Secret Liam was walking toward his car while talking with his brother. “Well, you know, with women it’s hard to decipher what they are thinking or what they might do.”Xavier was silent for a moment. Then Liam said, “Well, one thing is for sure — she didn’t abort the child, and she probably has no clue where her other daughter is.”Xavier responded, “What gets me is why would she leave one of her children and run off with the other one?”“I have no idea,” Liam snapped, “but we need to check into Stella’s family a little more closely. Could the woman you slept with be a relative of hers who set her up? Or did she steal your child at the hospital? Either way, we’ll get to the bottom of this. Nobody has the right to treat our family this way.” Liam’s tone heated.“Uh,” Xavier replied. “Let’s meet at the house. If Stella is there, we’ll take Mom and the baby out for a while and talk about our next step.” Liam was fed up with Stella enjoying the luxurious lifestyle she
Chapter 11what a wonderful surprise“Yes, Mom, I can tell you, but I want to tell everybody together. I don’t know what to do with this situation, so I need the family here to help me.” Xavier looked around the room. “By the way… is Stella here?”Hana glanced around, trying to figure out what he was leading up to before he asked about Stella. “Oh, she went out shopping with some of her friends.”He breathed a sigh of relief.Twenty minutes later, each of his brothers arrived. Ethan was first, then Noah, and finally Liam. The brothers rushed into the house, thinking something was terribly wrong. Once they reached the sitting area, they found Xavier and their mother sitting together, Xavier holding Hana’s hands. They walked over swiftly.“Hey, what’s going on? Why did you have us all stop what we were doing and come here? Tell us what’s happening,” Ethan demanded.Xavier looked up at his brothers. “Come on, all of you—have a seat. I have something to tell you.”The brothers exchanged g

Chapter 9The Truth Told Shiho noticed that the atmosphere was tense. He couldn’t quite put his finger on it. Normally, the family would use this time to discuss the day’s transactions, yet no one had anything to say. They only talked about silly things.“Well, I hope you all can make Stella feel at home while she is here. Ethan, maybe you and Stella should go shopping and get to know each other.”Ethan was totally shocked at the mention of spending time alone with her, even though they had already agreed earlier that he would do so. He had planned to put it off as long as he could. He coughed for a moment, then looked at his father.“Yes sir, of course.”He turned his head toward his mother and brothers so Stella couldn’t see his expression. He bit his lower lip until it hurt.Hana also realized the reason why Stella couldn’t connect with her granddaughter. Looking at her now made her sad to think she was nothing more than a gold digger, one who would make their lives miserable unti
Chapter 8Smiling she said softly yet deviously, "Huh, Thank you mom."Once Hana was gone, Stella flopped down on the bed, fell back, and raised her arms, smiling ear to ear. Her plan was coming together better than she had expected. Everything was coming to fruition. Hana headed toward Ethan’s room with the baby. To her surprise, all her sons were in his room talking. “Well, what’s going on in here?” They all turned to her. They had never lied to her and had not planned on starting now. Liam spoke first. “Mom, have a seat, please.” Hana was confused. “Honey, what’s going on? Is something wrong?” She wasn’t used to confusion or problems in their tight-knit family. Although she knew the ins and outs of their mafia family, her husband never let her get involved with anything dangerous. Unlike her boys, each of them are proficient in martial arts, archery, sword fighting, and gun battle, along with deadly combat. They were taught starting at the age of three and had no problem kil
