LOGINChapter 4
Pregnant
Two months had passed and Vangeline had not had her period. She sat there looking at the pregnancy test, not believing what she was seeing, when Stella burst into her room.
Vangeline quickly tried to hide it, but Stella had already seen it. Walking over to her sister, she snatched the test tube from her hand before pushing her down onto the chair.
“Well, well, what do we have here? So the little slut is now with child. One more thing to embarrass our family with. Hahaha, this should be a wonderful surprise... one more problem to upset our parents with.”
Vangeline was so upset that tears fell from her eyes, not of fear but of the hatred she had for her sister. She was incredibly beautiful... tall, lean body with hazel-brown wavy hair and grey eyes. She looked just like her mother and brother, who also had grey eyes and thick wavy hazel hair.
While Stella was a pretty girl with beautiful hazel-brown eyes and chestnut-brown hair like her mother, her attitude was rude and disrespectful. Being the youngest child, her parents spoiled her to no end, giving her the illusion she was better than her other siblings. She was good at blaming everything that happened on her siblings, one of the reasons her stepbrother Donovan had left to study in the States.
He couldn’t continue to watch this mad girl run over his father the way she and her mother had been doing since his own mother had passed away. He wanted his sister to come with him, but his father refused to let her go. Donovan told his sister that if she ever got into a tight spot, he would come at once and take her to the States with him.
It had been days, yet her father nor her stepmother had said one word to her about the baby. Stella stared at her every day, knowing that she was scared out of her mind, waiting for the moment she would tell their parents about her being pregnant. But for some reason, she hadn’t.
It was not until six months later, when it was very hard for them not to know if she was pregnant, that her stepmother came into her room. Before she knew it, she was slapping her and cursing at her, belittling her, letting her know that as soon as that baby was born, she was out of there and could take her bastard child with her.
Her father had to pretend he was so disappointed that he couldn’t even bring himself to talk to her. For the next three months, he never said a word to her — but he had no idea that her stepmother abused her, beat her, and cursed her every day after he had left for the office.
The day she went into labor, she called her brother. He promised her that he would be there. Stella and Wanda never told her father that she had gone into labor.
The two arrived at the hospital just as the first child was born. Coming towards them was the nurse they had paid off. It was a little girl.
The nurse brought the baby out and asked if they were the family of Vangeline. Playing the role of not knowing, Stella stood up. “I am.” She took the baby from the nurse. Reaching in her purse, she took out a credit card and handed it to the nurse.
“Three million. Keep your mouth shut.”
The nurse was in shock. She had never had that much money before in her life, and now all at once she had three million. She stood there looking at the two women, not knowing what to say.
“Well, what are you standing there for? Bye, go, scat. And remember... not one word.” Wanda was yelling at her as she watched the nurse starting to hurry off.
Before the nurse could say a word, Stella and her mother left with the child.
The nurse came out with the second child, which was another little girl. Yet no one was there. Donovan had just arrived when the third child was born... a boy and then another daughter and two boys came next.
The nurse never mentioned the daughter she had given to Stella. She was too afraid of losing her job. When she returned to Vangeline’s room, “Where is my daughter?” Vangeline asked her, even though she was still feeling the drugs that had been administered by the doctor.
The nurse knew she had to say something because she remembered showing her the baby. “Miss, I am so sorry. Your daughter did not make it. She was the firstborn and there were complications with her breathing, but we lost her.”
Vangeline burst into tears. The nurse quickly left the room. She did not want anyone to notice her.
At that moment, Donovan had just arrived from the nursery, watching the other nurses tagging the children’s feet. “Wow, sis, you must be so proud and excited to have given birth to such beautiful babies.”
She just laid there thinking about her daughter. She never responded to her brother’s comment. He just believed she was tired — after all, she had just given birth to five babies. He sat with her until she fell asleep, then went to check on the children once more.
The nurse allowed him to come in and hold each of his nieces and nephews. It was then he noticed the arrows on top of each of their chests. He was amazed to see the marks and curious who the father of the children could be.
Two days later, she was released from the hospital and left with her brother and children overseas.
The third day was when Stella put her plan into action. She and her mother lied and told their father the baby had passed away. Without even seeing his granddaughter, he just nodded and left for work.
Chapter 1910 Years Earlier: The Set UpOnce back in Japan, Angelica spotted her driver. He was waiting for her at the baggage claim terminal; she and Wanda had arrived there at the same time. Angelica had not expected her husband to be waiting for her. Once she retrieved her luggage and followed Bret, her driver, to her Bentley, her husband was standing at the car. Once he saw her, his eyes lit up and he had a big smile on his face. She hurried to him. “Honey, what a wonderful surprise. I would have imagined you would have been in a meeting this morning.”He smiled as he took her hand and placed a slight kiss on her cheek. “Yes, my love, I have some important meetings this morning, but I pushed them back until this afternoon. I missed you so much. I just could not wait to see you.”All this time, Wanda had been waiting on her son and lover (now her bodyguard) to retrieve all their bags from the baggage claim area. She watched the interaction between the two and jealousy rose in her h
Chapter 18 The Finial Straw: Then they showed her the video. Her husband stepped forward to slap her, but his mother stopped him. “ No. She did save my life, and now I am saving hers.” I am so disappointed why would you do such an evil thing you save my life, and I gave you a life, others only dreamed of having.” Wanda looked Cooley in her eyes. “ Yes, I saved your life and you gave me many things, but you allowed me to marry a man that despise me and treated me as a second class citizen because that’s all he thought of me. He misused me and walked all over me, but you thought because you gave me some little trinkets, that it was all right. Because after all, I had a beautiful mansion to live in and the finest of clothes, the best of food. I should be grateful. Well, I’m not. Maybe I should’ve let you burn, and then I wouldn’t have had to be subjected to this coldheartedness.” “Why, you ungrateful brat! How dare you speak to my grandmother in such a way!” He had started to
Chapter 17 Stella’s Return to Her Home “Mom! Mom, where are you?” Stella called out as she hurriedly walked toward the sitting room where her mother spent most of her time reading or watching the news. “I’m in here,” she responded in a loud voice. Once Stella was in her eyesight, Wanda asked, “What is with all this yelling? Do you think I’m hard of hearing?” Her mother was more of a no-nonsense person. She liked to get straight to the point. Business and money were her two driving forces—even her children were put to the side when it came to those two things. Wanda’s poor mother, Elsie, raised her in the countryside where they raised herds. Years later, Wanda had saved Tyler’s grandmother, Daisy Monroe, from a fire. She herself was burned, which was why the woman had insisted that her grandson, Tyler Monroe, marry her. He was the CEO of Monroe Corporation. His business was in the billions—just under the Lincolns’. Tyler was not at all pleased, yet he loved his grandmother
Chapter 16A Broken HeartOnce he finished, Shiho was very quiet. He rose from his seat and walked off the porch. Everyone knew he wanted to be alone to process everything he had just heard.Shiho headed down the path that led deep into the forest. His eyes were burning from the tears that were flowing. It had been years since he had cried like this. The last time had been at the death of his best friend Kalvin, who had been murdered while protecting his younger brother from a rival gang. Kalvin was only seventeen, and the two of them were like twins. He had died in the street. That was the beginning of Shiho’s warpath. He hunted down every one of those gang members and slaughtered them mercilessly. From that time on, he protected those he loved without hesitation. Anyone who hurt those he cared for would die.Which was why it was hard to tell him what had happened—but since Bella had been abused, there was no holding back. This time, he had to decide what road he would take. That gir
Chapter 15 Explaining Everything to Shiho He paused for a moment, looking over at them. Ethan smiled. “Dad, we will explain everything once Bella has gone to bed.” He looked at Ethan, then back over at Xavier. “Uh,” was all he said, then continued with their game. One hour later, dinner was ready, and the entire family sat down to eat. Shiho kept looking around at his sons and thought that maybe Bella had just confused the two brothers, which was why she was calling Xavier “daddy” and not Ethan. Hana could see the confusion in his eyes. She just smiled at him and touched his hand, assuring him that everything was okay. He looked towards her and smiled. She nodded her head, and he understood. They continued to eat and chat about little things—the business, the plans that they had for the rest of the week. Everyone enjoyed dinner, laughing, joking, and having a really good time. After dinner, Hana helped Ethan with the dishes, while Xavier took Bella upstairs, washed her
Chapter 14 Back at the Cabin Loving on Bella Because of what had just happened with Bella, each of the guys called their office and arranged to be out for a week. Deciding they would stay there at the lake house and just spend time with her—by taking her shopping, boating, fishing, and then maybe the last couple of days they would rent a yacht and just do a weekend on the Ocean, allowing her to have the time of her life. Hopefully giving her memorable thoughts, as they hope she will let go of all the hurtful things that have happened to her. The third day that they were at the lake house, everyone sat on the deck to plan out how to meet with Xavier’s other daughter. Hana sat with Bella and explained to her that she had a sister and that they were going to find her. “I have a sister?” Bella asked with a big grin. “Yes, you have a twin sister, Bella. She looks just like you, and we have to go and find her so you can both meet,” Xavier explained. “Why is she gone? How com
