Scarlett

My phone vibrated and I quickly opened my eyes only to realize the sun had already risen. Its reflection hit the screen of my TV.

I looked at my phone's screen and found that Mr. Black had given me about ten missed calls. I was super late so I rushed upstairs to take a shower and then get ready to go to the office.

“Sir, I'll be there in a few minutes," I said to Mr. Black the moment he called, and then ended the call.

I quickly got a cab and asked the driver to speed and he didn't hesitate. I quickly made my way to the lift and nervously walked out as I reached the top floor.

“Over here," Mr. Black waved from the boardroom.

I pulled myself together and walked inside. To my surprise, there were only three of us inside.

“Ms. Brown, you kept us waiting. What caused the delay?” Mr. Black asked.

"I had a little emergency, Sir, please pardon my bad timing,” I responded before the person I was supposed to meet turned around and I couldn't believe my eyes.
