CHAPTER 1
Elena Voss shifted in the passenger seat, her sundress riding up her thighs as Marcus Hale's SUV hummed down the winding lake road. She tugged the hem, but it clung stubbornly to her breasts and wide hips.
"You sure Mia's just running late?" she asked, voice brighter than she felt.
Marcus gripped the wheel, his tall, muscular frame relaxed but commanding. Salt-and-pepper hair, sharp jaw, piercing blue eyes. "Flight delay. She'll meet us by evening. She texted me to pick you up so you wouldn't sit around." His deep voice filled the car.
Elena nodded, heart racing. "Thanks, Marcus. It feels strange calling you that after all these years."
He glanced over, eyes dropping to her sundress before snapping back to the road. "Marcus is fine. You've been around with Mia since you were kids, no need for the Mr. Hale stuff anymore."
The silence stretched, thick and heavy. Elena crossed her legs, her knee brushed his hand on the gear shift, heat flared up her skin.
"Sorry," she muttered.
"Don't be," he said, voice lower. His fingers hovered near her thigh. "Roads are narrow out here, bound to happen."
She bit her lip and tried again. "This weekend should be good, Mia doing her birthday at the lake house just like old times. Remember when we all swam out to the dock that summer?"
Marcus gave a dry chuckle. "I remember, you girls grew up fast." His gaze slid over again, lingering on the curve of her breasts, the soft swell of her belly, the freckles across her nose. He cleared his throat. "Photography keeps you busy, Elena?"
"Trying to make it work," she replied, leaning forward so her wavy chestnut hair fell over one shoulder. "It's tough, but I love it. What about your firm? Mia says you're always busy."
"Keeps me disciplined," he answered, eyes drifting again. He reached for the AC, his arm brushing her bare shoulder, Elena's breath caught. "You've changed, you know. That dress... suits you."
Her cheeks warmed. "It's just a sundress, hot day and all." She turned toward him. "You've stayed the same though, still boxing?"
"Every morning," he said. Another glance, slower this time, tracing her body. "Helps me stay in control."
Elena swallowed hard. The air crackled between them. "Must be hard raising Mia alone all these years. You're really something, Marcus."
His jaw flexed. "I do what I have to do, protect what's mine," His blue eyes met hers for a long second, dark with something unspoken. "And you, Elena? Still looking for someone to look out for you?"
The question hung there. She shifted again, thighs pressing together. "Maybe. My mom's always working, it's nice... having someone pick me up, drive me like this."
Marcus adjusted in his seat, muscles tight under his shirt. "Anytime. We're practically family." But the way he said it, rough and low, sent sparks down her spine.
The brushes kept coming—his hand near her leg on turns, her arm against his when she reached for her phone. Every touch lingered longer, every stare grew hotter. He watched her lips when she spoke, her chest when she breathed. She felt every inch of his attention on her curvy figure.
By the time they reached the lake house, the sun had dipped low. Elena grabbed her bag, legs unsteady. "I'll settle in upstairs. Mia should be here soon, right?"
"Your usual room," Marcus said, carrying his things inside. "Make yourself comfortable."

Dinner passed in polite but loaded conversation. Elena helped clean up, hyper-aware of how close he stood, how his deep voice wrapped around simple words. She excused herself early, claiming tiredness, but sleep refused to come.
Hours later, the house was quiet. Thirsty and restless, Elena padded down the hall toward the kitchen. Running shower water stopped her, the bathroom door sat slightly ajar, steam curling into the hallway.
She froze.
Marcus groaned under the spray, low and rough. "Elena... fuck."
Her heart slammed against her ribs.
"God, Elena," he growled again, voice thick with need. "Just like that."
Elena pressed a hand over her mouth, body flushing hot, she should walk away. Instead she stood there, listening as the man she'd known for years moaned her name in the shower, his pleasure clear and desperate.
What the hell was she going to do now?
Celeste Reyes stood on the deck of Dara Lang’s private yacht as the sun set over the water, her hands rested on the railing while the elegant heiress stepped up behind her and slid a cool diamond necklace around her throat.Dara’s piercing ice-blue eyes met Celeste’s in the reflection of the glass. “This is yours now, wear it every day, it means you belong to me.”Celeste touched the elegant collar of diamonds and swallowed hard. “Dara… are you sure this is what you want after everything I did?”Dara turned her around and kissed her deep. “I have never been more sure of anything, you woke me up now I am keeping you.” She took Celeste’s hand and led her below deck into the large master cabin. “You're mine forever, no more running, no more plans.”Celeste’s heart raced with surrender already blooming in h
Celeste Reyes stood in the middle of Dara Lang’s penthouse living room with her bag already packed at her feet, hands shook as she forced the words out.“I cannot do this anymore, Dara. I am leaving.”Dara Lang froze by the window, her sleek platinum blonde hair falling over one shoulder, her piercing ice-blue eyes narrowed. “What did you just say?”Celeste’s chest felt tight. “This has gone too far, I never meant for it to become… this. I need to end it now.”Dara crossed the room in three long steps and grabbed Celeste’s wrist. “You do not get to walk away, not after everything.”Celeste pulled back, tears already burning her eyes. “You do not understand, I came into this with a plan. My boyfriend left me for you, I wanted to hurt you the same way, I wanted to make you fall and then lea
Celeste stood in Dara Lang’s luxurious bedroom, her long dark wavy hair still messy from the last round of kissing. The fiery Latina artist watched as the elegant heiress pulled a length of soft black silk from a drawer.Dara’s piercing ice-blue eyes stayed locked on Celeste. “Put your wrists together for me, I want to tie you tonight.”Celeste’s heart raced with both the thrill of her revenge plan and the unwanted heat spreading through her body. “You are getting bold, Dara. Are you sure you can handle taking control?”Dara stepped closer, her toned athletic body pressing against Celeste’s full curves. “I am done being quiet. You already woke something in me and I am not going back.” She wrapped the silk around Celeste’s wrists and tied them securely to the headboard. “You look so beautiful like this, helpless and mine.”Celeste tested the knots, her hazel eyes dark with desire. “Mmm… tight enough, what are you going to do to me now?”Dara climbed onto the bed and leaned down, suckin
Celeste Reyes woke up the next morning with Dara Lang still curled against her side on the small studio couch, the fiery Latina artist ran her fingers through Dara’s sleek platinum blonde hair, her hazel eyes studying the elegant heiress’s peaceful face. Revenge still burned in her chest, but last night’s heat lingered too.Dara opened her ice-blue eyes slowly. “Celeste… you stayed, I thought you might leave after.”Celeste smiled, brushing her thumb over Dara’s soft cheek. “I wanted to see you wake up, how do you feel this morning, beautiful?”Dara stretched, her toned athletic body pressing closer. “Like something inside me woke up too. I keep thinking about your mouth, I have never felt that free before.” She sat up a little. “Will I see you again today?”Celeste’s plan pushed her forward. “Yes, I want to take you somewhere special. Not another gala, somewhere quiet, just us.” ୨୧ ⏔⏔⏔⏔♡⏔⏔⏔⏔ ୨୧Later that afternoon, Celeste met Dara at a quiet riverside park. She handed her a smal
Celeste Reyes stood near the edge of the crowded art gala, her curvaceous body wrapped in a tight red dress that showed off her breasts and wide hips, her long dark wavy hair fell over her shoulders as she watched Dara Lang move through the room like she owned every inch of it. “This is my moment”. She thought.Dara Lang, the elegant rich heiress with sleek platinum blonde hair and piercing ice-blue eyes, stopped in front of one of Celeste’s paintings, Celeste took a deep breath and walked straight toward her."Excuse me," Celeste said with a warm smile. "You must be Dara Lang, I have heard so much about you. I am Celeste Reyes, that's my painting you are looking at."Dara turned, her ice-blue eyes locking onto Celeste. "Celeste Reyes, your work has a lot of passion in it. The way you use color... it feels alive." She looked Celeste up and down slowly. "You have fire in you, I like that."Celeste stepped closer, letting her arm brush lightly against Dara’s. "Thank you, I put all my rea
Kael read the new message with a dark scowl while Seraphine Vale curled weakly against his chest in the private chambers, the ruthless underworld lord stood up suddenly, pulling her with him."Stay here and rest, my toy," Kael said, kissing her forehead. "I am ending this tonight, your mother will be safe by morning."Seraphine grabbed his arm, voice still hoarse. "Kael, please be careful, I cannot lose her... or you." Her body still trembled from the intense use. "What are you planning?"Kael smirked, his tattooed chest rising with confidence. "I launch the operation now, my men are ready, you will see your mother soon, Seraphine. Then you must choose." ୨୧ ⏔⏔⏔⏔♡⏔⏔⏔⏔ ୨୧Hours later, Kael returned with Seraphine’s mother safely hidden and protected, he brought the exhausted woman to a secure room before coming straight to Seraphine."Your mother is safe now," Kael said, pulling Seraphine onto his lap on his grand throne in the empty hall. Elena Voss stood frozen in the hallway, hand still pressed over her mouth, her body burning as Marcus's low groans echoed from the shower. "Elena..." he growled again, rough and desperate, she backed away on shaky legs before he could finish, heart thundering, and slipped back to her room. ୨୧ ⏔⏔
