تسجيل الدخولInnessa inhaled deeply a couple of times to calm her nerves down. Her heart was jackhammering in her ears and she rubbed her palms on her jeans to relieve the sweatiness.
Innessa felt a big warm hand snaking on the small of her back as Issac leaned closer, pressing a soft kiss on her cheek. "Easy, precious. Deep breaths." He rasped kissing the back of her ear as she inhaled sharply.
"I'm right here. We can do this," he assured her softly as the girl nodded.
After a couple of seconds, she finally mustered up the courage as she pressed the bell button.
Barely a minute passed before the door was pulled open and Alisa greeted Innessa with a brightest smile pulling the girl into a tight hug as Innessa hugged back her mom. "Oh, baby. I missed you so much," Alisa said in a broken tone causing Innessa's eyes to tear up as she hugged her tightly burying her face on her shoulder as a tear trickled down her cheek.
"I missed you more, Mom," Innessa whispered sniffling as Alisa noted Issac and her brows furrowed before her eyes widened as she broke the hug and faced her daughter.
"Is he Issac, you told us about?" Alisa asked, holding Innessa's hands in her soft and warm ones.
Innessa nodded and Alisa's eyes lit up as she leaned closer to Innessa. "He's more handsome than the pictures," Alisa whispered teasingly before pulling back as Innessa blinked at her.
Alisa stepped towards Issac who was nicely dressed in a white button-up and black slacks, his hair perfectly combed back and his sleeves were rolled up to his elbows.
"Good afternoon, ma'am. It's lovely to finally meet you," Issac said as he shook hands with Alisa, making the woman smile at the tall hunk of a man.
"Both of my girls got smitten by British men and now I can see why," Alisa mused, making Issac chuckle. Innessa felt her nerves calming down a little as Alisa introduced herself and ushered them inside the house as she closed the door.
"Where's dad?" Innessa asked when her dad walked into the hall, he was coming straight from his room.
Denis' eyes fleeted to Issac for a cold second before he walked over to his lovely daughter and pulled her in for a hug and it melted his heart to finally meet his daughter after almost a year.
Issac knew the look that Denis gave him all too well. It was the look of distrust, caution, and menace. He didn't like him for now but Issac would change it.
"I missed you so much, Dad," Innessa whispered on her father's shoulder, she was on her tippy toes as she hugged her father. Her father was an inch or two shorter than Issac but he was strong.
"I missed you more. The house felt so empty without my princess," Denis said as he pulled back, cupping her cheek he kissed her forehead lovingly making Innessa smile with tears in her eyes. The three of them got emotional at the reunion.
After greeting his daughter Denis faced Issac with a void look on his face. His eyes which held so much softness and love instantly changed into a cold stern gaze as he eyed Issac from head to toe as if sizing him up.
Issac stepped forward holding out his hand for Denis to shake. Denis didn't grab his hand quickly but rather he observed him for a couple of seconds expecting Issac to get embarrassed and pull his hand back but Issac didn't do that. He kept holding out his hand, his chest puffed out and shoulders squared, and not once did he broke the eye contact as Denis finally shook his hand firmly applying pressure to check him but Issac didn't even flinch and kept his grip strong.
"Issac Knight. It's nice to meet you, sir," Issac said, his deep British accent prominent.
"Denis Laskin," Denis said as he let go of Issac's hand and Alisa asked them to join her in the dining room as the lunch was already set on the table.
Issac tried to walk beside Innessa but Denis grabbed his daughter's hand, pulled her to his side, and asked her how everything was back at the academy. Issac glared at the back of Denis' head. He didn't like the way Denis pulled Innessa away from him but he controlled his emotions and possessiveness. He was her father, of course, he wanted to spend time with his daughter who showed up back at home after a whole year.
At the dining table, Issac pulled the seat for Innessa but Denis made her sit to his right as he sat on the head chair, and Alisa sat on Innessa's right which forced Issac to sit opposite them and he remained calm and tried not to get overly possessive. He kept reminding himself they were her parents and wanted to spend time with her but Isaac didn't even want to share her time with anyone. He could be labelled as a psycho but he didn't care. But at the moment he wanted to win her family over so they would accept him for their daughter. Faina and Arthur had already accepted him and they also liked him.
"So, Issac, where are you from and how old are you?" Alisa started the conversation with him as they all served themselves and Alisa offered him the food graciously which he accepted without a complaint.
"I'm from Manchester, born and raised there. I just turned 26 last month," Issac said as Alisa nodded but Denis just stayed quiet. Observing.
"So, you met Innessa at the academy?" Alisa asked.
"Yes, ma'am-"
"Call me Alisa, I'd like that," Alisa said with a smile. Now Issac can see where Innessa got her eyes and smile from. Alisa was an elegant graceful woman. Where Denis seemed like a rough tough guy. Issac could see why he had that 'don't f*ck with me' aura around him. Though his features were gentle, his eyes were sharp and cold. Maybe he was in a protective stance because he had three women in his family to protect. And all three of them were beautiful but Innessa was the most gorgeous one, maybe the reason Issac find her so damn tempting was that she belonged to him. She was his love.
"Yes, Alisa. I met her at the academy. Our first meeting was coincidental and then we bumped into each other quite often. Maybe it was fate. I even saw her in the church-"
"Or perhaps you were following her," Denis retorted and Issac paused while Innessa was about to choke on her food but she managed to swallow the bite.
"That wasn't the case, sir," Issac said politely though he did follow her but he didn't expect Denis to figure it out in a couple of minutes after meeting him.
Denis didn't say anything so Issac continued while looking at Alisa.
"I'm pursuing a PhD in business administration which will be completed next month. After that I'll join my family business of Knight Enterprises," Issac said as Alisa smiled at him.
"That's excellent," she said, trying to lighten the mood.
"How many siblings do you have?"
"He's an only child, mom," Innessa said.
Alisa nodded as she changed the topic to Innessa's cute memories from her childhood, Issac listened attentively and smiled while Innessa observed her father who was acting cold. She didn't know why but it looked like her father didn't like Issac much.
Denis noticed her staring and passed her a soft smile as he filled her plate more and told her to eat saying she had gotten so weak.
After lunch, they all headed to the hall. Alisa brought the album of young pictures of Innessa and Faina, she showed them to Issac who took pictures of some of Innessa's photos in which she was just a chubby baby with big ice blue eyes.
Denis pulled to his feet as Innessa noticed and followed her father to the garden. Denis smiled when he saw her approaching. Innessa was always an attentive kid. She knew when her father wanted to talk to her without her father having to mention it.
"How are you, father?" She asked softly, coming to walk beside him as they strolled in the garden.
"I'm good, your mother is taking good care of me. The only things that keep me worried are my sweet daughters. I know Arthur is a good guy, he takes good care of Faina but I'm more worried about you. You don't know how difficult it was for me to send you to the new country all alone." He said, making her smile as she interlinked their arms.
"I know, Dad. Please don't worry about me. Your daughter is a big girl now. She can take care of herself," she said smiling as Denis patted her head smiling.
"I know, princess. I know." He said and paused before his expression turned serious when he asked her the next thing.
"What do you feel about that guy who's being too friendly with my wife," Denis said sternly, making her pout.
"His name is Issac, Dad." She corrected her father who arched a perfect brow at her.
"I see, you care for him. How long have you been dating?" He asked.
"Eight months," she said and he nodded.
"So, how many times has he hurt you in these eight months?" Her father asked.
"He made up for it," she said and her father sighed.
"Don't give him enough chances that he starts taking you for granted," Denis said.
"He's not like that, dad. He loves me. He's a good guy," she said and her father noticed the constant smile on her lips as she talked about Issac.
"Good guy? He looks like a bad boy," Denis commented and Innessa blinked at her father, surprised.
"He's not a bad boy. Well... Not for me," she said the last part sheepishly as Denis frowned. His daughter was too naive for men like Issac. That guy looked sharp and cunning like a wolf.
"Do you love him?" Denis asked and Innessa showed him the brightest smile. She didn't even say anything but he already knew his daughter was hopelessly in love with that guy.
"I do love him, dad." She said honestly and he sighed before passing her a small smile.
They headed back inside and all of them enjoyed the herbal tea which Issac didn't like at all but he still drank it.
The house was cozy and the atmosphere was so peaceful. Issac felt relaxed. Alisa already liked him but Denis seemed like a hard nut to crack. He was barely giving anything away and was quietly observing Issac.
Once Alisa asked Innessa to help her in the kitchen, Denis pulled to his feet facing Issac.
"Follow me, young man." He said and walked to his study keeping the door open for Issac to step in. Once Issac stepped inside Denis closed the door and locked it.
Issac raised a perfect brow at Denis who had his back to him. And when Denis turned to face him, he masked his expressions.
Denis walked to his chair at the table, took his seat and faced Issac motioning him to sit down. Issac took the seat in front of Denis as he matched his gaze head-on.
"What's your reputation at the academy?" Denis asked and by the looks of it, it was obvious he only wanted to hear the truth.
"No one messes with me and I don't mess with anyone, nor do I entertain stupidity. I mind my business," Issac said straight to the point as Denis watched him.
"Issac, I'd ask you nicely. Leave my daughter and don't show yourself around her ever again," Denis' voice was deadly serious as he said that causing Issac's gaze to turn expressionless and dead as he stared at the man who was the father of his wife. If it was anyone else who had said this to him, that person would be six feet under the ground.
"Mr. Laskin, I'll tell you nicely. I will not leave your daughter ever and you cannot make me," Issac said firmly, his deep voice sounding gravely.
"Why?" Denis asked.
"Because I love her. And I'll spend the rest of my life with her whether you like it or not," he said darkly, causing Denis to narrow his eyes at him.
"What if I don't allow you?"
"Then I'll keep pursuing you to allow me and I'm a very persistent man," Issac said.
"You talk as if you'll marry my daughter. I know guys like you-"
"I'll marry her," Issac said, cutting off Denis.
"Mr. Laskin, I'm asking for your daughter's hand in marriage. I want to marry her," Issac said.
"Marriage is not for kids. Are you even serious about it?"
"I am serious about it. I want to spend the rest of my life with Innessa. I wanted to grow old with her. I love her with all my heart and I could never bear to be away from her ever." Issac said as Denis rested back on his seat, the corner of his lips slightly quirked up as he averted his gaze now staring at the table.
"Let's go and help our women in the kitchen," Denis said, pulling to his feet as he unlocked the door and stepped out. Issac was stunned by what Denis just said, a grin split on his lips as he followed behind his father-in-law, all joyous.
Issac and Denis helped the women in the kitchen and Issac was amazed to see how much Denis still loved his wife. They had a beautiful relationship where Denis would annoy Alisa and then would make up to her the very next second.
At the dinner table, the atmosphere was so much lighter and this time Denis was also participating in the conversation which brought a beautiful smile on Innessa's lips.
Issac helped Innessa in washing the dishes. Innessa showed him her room which smelled just like her. It was so cozy and pretty. Denis handed Issac a pillow and a comforter telling him to sleep on the sofa in the hall, making him sulk as Denis put Innessa to bed in her room.
Denis and Alisa retired to their room and Innessa stared out of the window. She was lying on the bed only in her tiny shorts and a T-shirt. She was nestled in her comforter. Innessa retrieved her phone from the side table and sent a goodnight text to Issac. It was so late, he must've fallen asleep. Innessa smiled recalling his sulking face when her father told him to sleep in the hall.
The girl smiled. Her heart was so full and she was happy that it scared her. She didn't want to lose this happiness.
Ever since that incident three months ago, things have changed drastically for Innessa and Issac. They had gotten closer and they were taking things slow. Issac was so gentle to her. So loving as he would listen to her and take things at the pace she wanted. They did make out a couple of times but it didn't go further ahead.
He had asked her to move in with him again but she didn't agree and asked him to take things slow. Issac would drop her to her workplace and was always there to pick her up on time every day. They'd go to the church together and Issac would plan surprise dates for her. He had stopped fighting in that scary place for her and she was the happiest.
Innessa was going through their beautiful pictures together when she heard a light knock on the door.
Her brows furrowed as she checked the time before she ambled to the door, she slightly opened the door only for the person to push it open. A veiny hand clasped on her mouth as she was pushed against the wall and that person closed the door locking it.
Innessa gaped at Issac with wide eyes. She tried to move his hand away. He did pull his hand away only to press his lips against hers in a gentle kiss.
He pulled back after kissing her and his eyes darted down her body for a fraction of a second, his gaze paused at her naked legs before he stepped back to have a better view causing the girl to press her legs together as he met her eyes.
"Are you teasing me?" He rasped in that dark tone that always made her fold as Innessa innocently shook her head with big wide eyes.
Issac had both of his hands resting on either side of her head on the wall as he leaned closer.
"D... Dad will get mad if he finds you in my room," She said in a small voice looking anywhere but at him.
"He's sound asleep. He wouldn't know," Issac said.
"What if he woke up and saw you were missing from the hall-" Issac grabbed her jaw tilting her face up as he pressed his lips on hers in a hot searing kiss.
Her lips parted with a gasp as he slid his tongue into her mouth and devoured her like a hungry beast.
Issac was deprived of her since the moment they stepped into this house. Her parents won't leave her alone and Denis would make sure to keep Issac away from her. It was annoying and made him want to crave her even more.
She pressed her hands on his chest, a cue for him to slow down but instead, he tilted his head and deepened the kiss causing her eyes to widen. His free hand grabbed her waist, sliding back down as he squeezed her ass pulling her more into him.
She whimpered within the kiss and he swallowed it. She lightly punched on his chest and he broke the kiss with a pop and a suck on her lower lip. The girl breathed heavily but Issac didn't stop there. His lips found their home on her neck as he gently bit on her skin but Innessa was fast. She instantly pushed his face away, her hand clamped on his mouth. "No marks," She warned and he groaned.
He picked her up in a swift move as he stalked to the bed and dropped her fragile body on it making her bounce twice and the next thing he was on top of her kissing her passionately.
Innessa didn't even gather her bearings before he was devouring her.
The girl kissed him back as she gently cupped his cheeks hoping that he'd leave once he'd get his fill of the kiss. But she was naive.
Her eyes widened when he pushed her legs open and nestled between her legs, pressing down on her causing her eyes to widen even more as she gasped within the kiss. Issac took a small breather, barely letting her take in a sharp breath before claiming her lips again.
He was hungry for her. The intense feelings and mind-boggling attraction he felt towards her was beyond his control. He had been trying so hard to stay in control and not scare her away with his obsession but he was on his wits ends.
She gently pushed at his chest and broke the kiss to breathe but Isaac didn't stop there, he gave open-mouthed kisses down her neck. As he moved slightly, her eyes broadened feeling his hardness pressing against her core.
"Issac, stop." She whispered pushing on his chest but instead of stopping he grabbed both of her hands, intertwined their fingers, and pushed them on the bed on either side of her head as he caged her underneath him.
"I'm losing control, Precious. I want you so f*cking badly," He said grinding against her as her body moved with his movements and she chewed on her bottom lip to stop any moan from slipping her lips. She didn't want to wake her parents. The fact that she was making out in her parent's home made her turn red. It felt so sinful.
"T... Try to relax," She suggested and he groaned, he grabbed her bosom and squeezed it causing her lips to part and he kissed her to swallow her moan.
"How can I relax when you look like this, precious? I want to devour you whole and leave no f*cking crumbs," He growled lowly peering down at her vehemently as her body shivered at his words and she averted her gaze feeling her cheeks tinting a bright shade of red.
He leaned down pushing her shirt up to reveal her belly as he pressed his lips on her naval causing her to squirm as he licked her stomach and bit gently. His feathery kisses trailed down her body as he pulled her creamy thighs on his shoulder, kissed her inner thigh, and bit it while making intense eye contact with her. She could feel heat in her ears as she shook her head and he smirked devilishly.
He was smooth in removing her shorts and opening her legs wide before pressing his lips on her core as he devoured her. The girl trembled, her thighs shivering as she tried to push him away, and with her free hand; she cupped her mouth shut to not make any noise.
He didn't even stop after she came and kept going at her until she convulsed for the second time and came trembling like a leaf. Her shoulders, neck, and cheeks were a bright shade of red as he pulled back watching her with dark unadulterated lust in his eyes. Her eyes darted to the scar of the bullet on his arm as she caressed it gently.
He got rid of his shirt and undid his pants, pulling out his huge hardness, he rubbed her wetness on it before grabbing her legs up, he hugged them to his chest, and pushed his hardness between her thighs causing it to rub against her core as he grunted.
Issac kissed her ankle and thrust into her thighs making her whimper. Isaac grunted as he thrust a couple of times before he growled and came.
He pulled back watching her breathing heavily with her eyes closed. Just looking at her all sweaty and covered in his essence made him hard again but he controlled himself. Issac zipped up his pants as he grabbed some wet wipes and cleaned her thighs and belly. He put her shorts back on her and wore his shirt before he snuggled beside her on the bed.
Issac wrapped his arm around her waist and cuddled her closer kissing her ear as she breathed slowly.
"I can't wait any longer, precious. I want to make you mine," He rumbled, kissing the back of her ear as he tightened his hold on her waist pulling the comforter on them.
"Sleep, sweetheart. I'll be in the hall before your father wakes up," He rasped, kissing her shoulder as the girl drifted off to sleep rather quickly because of the exhaustion. But his words kept raking her mind before sleep consumed her.
Her brows furrowed, and she glitched for a second. "Excuse me?" She said curtly."Excused." He said calmly, quietly eating his steak as if nothing had happened. Her lips parted at his audacity, and she glared at him."You're good at what precisely? And what's the provoking part?" She asked, her eyes narrowed and food long forgotten.Victor finally raised his eyes to meet her gaze. You just tasted the meat and made that sound, so you know what I'm good at, and I'm not bothering to answer the other question." He said plainly and began to eat his food again. She glared at him. But the delicious smell of the food didn't let her stay annoyed for long, as she grabbed her knife and fork and began eating the food. It was mind-blowing; she had never had such a tasty steak before. It was so delicious that she finished the whole plate and still eyed more meat.Victor was silently observing her. He didn't say much and ate his food. Once he was done, he waited for her to finish, and as she rested
The sunrays of early morning were a cruel intrusion as they cut through the drapes of Victor's room. She groggily opened her eyes, breathing lightly. She moved a little, her eyes darting to the other side of the bed, which was empty, cold, and untouched. The mere reality that he didn't sleep with her on the same bed brought immense peace to her soul. She couldn't hear a single noise in the whole room except for her breathing. She cautiously tried to sit up and was successful in doing so, but a wince escaped her lips when a sharp pain shot from her ribs to her torso.Inhaling deeply, she got to her feet and ambled into the bathroom. She freshened up, took a warm, relaxing shower, pampered herself, and then wore a bathrobe as she stepped out. There was a knock on the door, and then it slowly opened to reveal two maids."We are here to change your bandages, madame. After that, we'll bring you your breakfast. What would you like to have for breakfast?""Whatever you guys make the best," S
The morning light did not bring warmth to the Volkov estate; it filtered through the heavy, charcoal curtains of Victor’s master suite in cold, grey shards.Serena lay perfectly still, her eyes fixed on the ornate crown molding of the ceiling. She had glanced around the room, and Victor was nowhere in sight, which brought her a fraction of peace.Every breath was a calculated risk. The bandage around her torso felt like a restrictive serpent, reminding her with every heartbeat that her ribs were held together by little more than gauze and sheer willpower. She was wearing his shirt, the silk was cool and far too large, smelling of the sandalwood and expensive tobacco that defined him. She wasn't okay with the fact that he was the one who changed her clothes. He saw her naked, vulnerable, and covered in bruises. The thought alone made chills run up her spine. This act of his clearly indicated that he has no respect for women at all. And no decency in his bones. Then again, what else co
The silence of the Volkov estate was shattered by the screech of tires against gravel as Alexei brought the armored SUV to a violent halt. Victor didn’t wait for the door to be opened. He lunged out of the vehicle, Serena’s limp body cradled against his chest like a broken porcelain doll. Her head lolled against his shoulder, her skin so pale it was almost translucent under the harsh security lights. Every second she remained unconscious, a cold, unfamiliar dread tightened its grip on Victor’s throat. He didn’t take her to the guest wing. He didn't take her to the room he had assigned her earlier. He bypassed his guards, his boots thundering against the marble stairs, and kicked open the double doors to his own master suite. He laid her down in the center of his massive, charcoal-sheeted bed. She looked tiny there, a splash of white silk and dark hair against the masculine shadows of his world. The doctor, a sharp-eyed woman named Dr. Arisov who had served the Volkov family for decades
The drive to the Volkov estate was not a journey; it was a slow crawl through a torture of silence and steel. The interior of the armored SUV felt like a pressurized chamber. The air was thick, heavy with the scent of Victor’s expensive cologne and the metallic tang of hidden weapons. Serena sat as far from him as the leather seat would allow, her forehead pressed against the cool glass of the window. Every breath was a battle. The kick to her ribs had left a jagged, throbbing heat in her side that flared with every vibration of the car.Unable to take the suffocating stillness, she fumbled with the controls, rolling the window down just enough to let a slip of the freezing night air cut through the cabin. She gasped, her lungs greedily drinking in the wind. Her hair, once perfectly pinned, began to unravel, dark strands whipping across her pale face like silk ribbons. She wasn't thinking about the man sitting inches away from her. She wasn't thinking about the "Vows" she had just exc
The silence that followed Serena’s "No" was not merely a lack of sound; it was a physical weight, a crushing atmosphere that seemed to suck the oxygen from the vast, industrial hall. It was the sound of an empire cracking, the sound of a death warrant being signed in the space of a single breath. The priest’s face went from pale to a sickly, translucent grey. A bead of sweat broke from his hairline and traced a slow, agonizing path down his temple, vanishing into the collar of his vestments. He swallowed, the sound loud in the vacuum of the room, a wet, clicking thud. Behind him, the armed guards on both sides shifted, the subtle rustle of fabric and the metallic clink of holsters acting as the only heartbeat in the room.Victor Volkov did not move. He did not flinch. He remained as still as a statue carved from the very obsidian he seemed to embody. His blue eyes, usually like frozen lakes, turned into something darker, deeper, a glacial abyss. He looked down at Serena, his expressio
