Adrian’s POV

Contrary to the previous nights, the night sky didn’t show any stars. It was because of the rain earlier that made it cloudy, thus hiding those little twinkling lights above.

I remembered the last time I walked to this trail under this circumstance. It was during that time when Aria ran away from Moon Valley after my rejection. Thinking about that painful past sent a sting of pain inside my heart. I wouldn’t want that to happen again. I was willing to do everything to keep myself from experiencing that pain again when Aria left me.

I must have fallen deep into my thoughts when I failed to notice that the Williams’ Residence was within reach. I inched closer until I reached the front door of their house. I knocked three times, no longer delaying whatever I intended to do.
