LUCA

Tell me why I came to see my cousin, my blood, and found Sofia standing on the other side of his door.

The same woman I'd told Enzo to stay away from.

And now she was in his house.

I clenched my jaw.

Her face was drained of every colour. When she saw me, at least she knew she was indeed in trouble. My eyes trailed from her face to the bags in her hands.

“Step aside,” I ordered. She did so immediately. Good girl.

“Enzo!!!!” I shouted as I walked further into the living room.

There was no reply.

I turned towards Sofia, who remained standing by the door.

“You’re in serious trouble,” I told her. “Go sit your ass down there.”

I pointed towards one of the sofas.

“I…I can ex—”

“Shut the fuck up, Sofia, and go sit the fuck down!” I yelled.

She yelped and hurried towards the sofa.

Just then, Enzo walked down the stairs.

He stopped in his tracks when he saw me.

Then he glanced towards Sofia.

“From where you stand, start explaining,” I commanded.

“Luca.”

“I didn't ask you to say my name. I asked you to explain why my fiancée is in your house.”

“She’s not your fiancée anymore,” he replied.

This boy was forgetting who he was talking to.

I slowly smiled.

“Say that again,” I told him.

“I don’t want to fight you, Luca,” he said.

“And why is that?” I asked him.

“You’re the Mafia’s heir.”

“That right there. Then tell me, why did you disobey my orders when I told you to stay away from her?” I said, pointing towards Sofia.

“I won’t get involved again,” he murmured.

“You're making it sound like this was some harmless mistake.”

“I said I won't get involved again,” he snapped.

He’s so lucky he’s practically like a brother to me.

“I’m sorry,” he spoke again. “Her father threw her out, and I helped her.”

I stared at him.

“You helped her.”

“Yes.”

“After I specifically told you to stay away from her.”

He clenched his jaw.

“She had nowhere to go,” he replied.

I chuckled.

“And apparently, out of every fucking person in New York, you were the one who had to save her.”

Enzo's expression hardened.

“I wasn't going to leave her outside.”

“No,” I said, my eyes moving toward Sofia. “You were going to bring her into your house.”

He said nothing.

“Do you know what that looks like, Enzo?”

He didn't answer.

“It looks like you forgot who she belonged to.”

“She doesn't belong to anyone. You cut off the engagement.”

That answer made my smile disappear.

“Be careful,” I warned him.

I turned towards Sofia.

She looked drained, almost like she had already accepted what was coming.

For a second, I almost felt sorry for her.

Almost.

I looked back at Enzo.

Then I reached beneath my jacket and pulled out my gun.

His eyes immediately dropped to it.

“What are you doing?”

I tossed it towards him.

Enzo caught it in midair.

Sofia gasped.

“Kill her.”

Enzo stared at me.

“What the fuck?”

“Don't make me repeat myself.”

His fingers tightened around the gun.

“You're serious?”

I chuckled.

“When I want someone dead, you don't question me.”

I took a step closer.

“So what changed?”

Enzo's expression hardened.

He looked down at the gun in his hand, then back at me.

“You want me to kill her?”

“That's what I said.”

His jaw clenched.

I glanced at Sofia.

She looked terrified.

Good.

“Please…” she whispered.

I ignored her.

“Prove to me that I'm wrong.”

“Wrong about what?” Enzo asked.

“That this isn't about her,” I replied with a smile. “My cousin, suddenly disobeying my orders.”

I stepped closer.

“And now you're questioning me over her.”

Enzo's grip tightened around the gun.

“She’s done nothing to you.”

“That's not your decision to make.”

“She doesn't deserve this.”

I laughed.

“Deserve?”

I shook my head.

“You're forgetting yourself, Enzo.”

I pointed towards Sofia.

“And right now, Sofia is a problem.”

Enzo didn't move.

I stared at him.

“Kill her.”

He slowly removed the safety from the gun.

Sofia's eyes widened.

“Please,” she whispered. “Enzo, please don't.”

He looked at her.

Then back at me.

“You really want me to do this?”

“I don't give orders twice.”

Sofia shook her head as tears gathered in her eyes.

“Please. I don't want to die.”

Enzo raised the gun and aimed at her.

My eyes remained on him, watching him for any more weaknesses.

His finger settled on the trigger, and he pulled it, but nothing happened.

Sofia gasped.

Enzo stared at the gun. Then he looked at me.

I smiled.

“Good.”

His nostrils flared.

“You tested me.”

“Of course I did.”

I walked towards him and took the gun.

“And you passed.”

“You’re so unbelievable,” he yelled.

“I needed to know whether you would still pull the trigger if I ordered you to.”

I glanced at Sofia. She stood unmoving and very pale.

“The fuck, Sofia, are you okay?” I asked.

“Of course she isn't,” Enzo said from beside me.

“I…I don't feel…”

Her knees gave out before she could finish. Enzo moved so fast, he caught her before she hit the floor.

I was irritated.

“Get your hands off her, Enzo,” I grunted.

“The fuck do you mean, get my hands off her?” “Fucking call the doctor,” he said.

I watched as Sofia’s eyes fluttered closed.

Damn, it’s serious.

I called the doctor, and he was on his way. Enzo laid her on the sofa.

Then my eyes trailed towards Sofia’s bags.

“What was she doing with those?” I asked Enzo.

He looked towards my line of vision.

“You met her with those?” he asked, and I nodded.

“I think she was leaving,” he said with a shrug.

“Her father didn’t let her in, you said,” I replied.

“She was running away,” I spat angrily.

Enzo looked at me.

“In case you forgot, you two are no longer together.”

“And in case you were too slow to observe, I haven’t released a statement for the public yet. So she’s still mine,” I shot back.

Enzo gave me a look.

“And if she was really planning to run away…”

I looked down at the gun in my hand.

“Then she'll learn exactly why I never let people walk away from me.”

I opened the door and stared at Enzo in disbelief.“You’re just saying that. Y…you don’t mean it.”“I do, Sofia,” he murmured.“What my dad owes Luca is a lot,” I said.“I’m a billionaire,” he replied.“This isn’t right. I can’t take money from you.”He rolled his eyes.“We’ve crossed so many lines. This is nothing.”I stared at him.“But why?”“Because I said I’d handle it,” he snapped.“That isn’t an answer.”“It’s the only one you’re getting.” He ran his fingers through his hair, clearly losing patience.I shook my head, still unable to believe he would really do this.“You’re willing to pay millions of dollars for me?”“You’re blaming yourself for something that wasn’t entirely your fault.”“Marcus is dead because of me,” I whispered.“He made his choice. Luca made his. And I made mine.”He paused.“So let me make this one.”I swallowed.“You’re really going to pay my father’s debt?” I asked, still uncertain.“Yes.”“And what do you want in return?” I asked wearily. He sighed deep

  • Taken By My Fiancé’s Cousin    Complete Rollercoaster

I’ve been staying at Enzo’s place for three days, and my mind has been on a complete rollercoaster. Enzo has been nowhere to be found this whole time. The seven-day timer Luca gave my father was ticking away, and I couldn't do a single thing about it. And now... I just found out Marcus is dead.I feel like shit. I keep asking myself: Are Enzo and Luca responsible? But the news source said he died from a drug overdose at a party.I need to get the hell out of this house and go talk to Luca, the asshole hasn’t been picking up my calls since that night he scared the hell out of me.And lastly, I need to get the fuck out of Enzo’s life. Then, an idea occurred to me. Even though Luca doesn’t give me money directly, he buys me high-end designer stuff. I could sell them and raise enough cash for my own apartment. It felt like a genius plan.I packed all the items I intended to sell, but as I was about to walk out, the front door to Enzo’s living room sprang open. I tensed up, then relaxed w

  • Taken By My Fiancé’s Cousin    The Devil’s Living Room

I never imagined I'd end up here. Not on the streets. Not abandoned by my own father. And definitely not sitting in Enzo’s car.I stared out the window, watching the city pass by as Enzo drove in silence.Neither of us had said much since I got into the car.I still couldn't believe he had found me sitting outside my father's house. Or that he'd actually asked me to come with him. This was a terrible idea. But what choice did I have?I had nowhere else to go.So when Enzo told me to get in his car, I'd gotten in.I just didn't know what would happen once we reached his house.“I think you should tell your girlfriend about me staying at your place,” I spoke.Enzo looked at me like I had lost my mind. “I don’t have one,” he grumbled. “Even if I did, she won’t see you as a threat—you’re my cousin’s fiancée,” he added.“Not anymore,” I whispered.“Why are you so sad about it, though?” he asked, flashing me a look.“'Cause Luca would kill my dad, isn’t it obvious?” I shot back.“Then let h

  • Taken By My Fiancé’s Cousin    An Idiot Called Enzo Verri

ENZOSofia deserved what happened. At least, that was what I needed to believe. She'd called Marcus handsome in Chicago. Then she kissed him at the party. So what exactly was I supposed to believe? That she only did it because she'd been jealous at the party?Bullshit.I hated that I'd even wondered. I had no right to.Not after what I'd done.I was the one who kissed her last night.I was the one who crossed that line again. And now I was standing there judging her for kissing another man?Fuck that. Why did I kiss her? I didn't know, just like I didn't know why I'd been so angry when I saw her locking lips with my teammate.I needed to stay out of her business.Whatever happened between us was a mistake. One I needed to forget.Especially after Nora.I'd already made one mess. I wasn't going to make another by getting involved with Sofia. She could deal with the consequences of her choices. And I could finally mind my own damn business and forget about what happened between us.I ha

  • Taken By My Fiancé’s Cousin    Completely Alone

The look on Enzo’s face was priceless, one look at him and anyone would think Luca had just accused him falsely. Looking at the two of them, a fight looked ready to break out.“How dare you,” Enzo finally spoke.Luca studied him calculatively.Enzo took one slow step toward him. “You walk in here and accuse me of sleeping with your fiancée? What next?”“Explain why you’re fighting so hard for her,” Luca said coldly.Enzo scoffed. “Watch yourself, Luca. I won’t play babysitter for your fiancée just to have you accuse me of such bullshit.”My eyes widened in shock. I couldn’t believe Enzo was talking to Luca like this.Luca stared at him for a few long seconds before letting out a dry chuckle. “You’re getting defensive.”Enzo’s expression didn’t flicker. “And you’re getting careless.”The room went dead silent. My heart pounded against my ribs. This was terrifying to watch.“You’re my cousin, Enzo,” Luca said softly. “Don’t forget that.”Enzo smiled, but there was nothing warm about
