Asher’s POV. Asher continued to grumble under his breath as he walked towards the fields where he knew Alex, his Beta would be. He needed to talk to someone, anyone who wasn’t Beth or he might just loose it and the only person he knew might be able to understand him none other than Alex. Another ungodly minute spent with that woman would have driven him but, he knew that much for a fact but never again would he allow her to get under his skin like that. Never again. He got to the fields and sure enough, Alex was at the far end, hacking on a piece of wood. He has already gathered some good amount at the corner, ready to build a huge fire if the need be but he doubt if he is going to stop any time soon unless he interrupt him. Asher walked towards him, wishing for a split second that their roles were reversed. Beth seemed to get along so well with him that at times, Asher wondered if something else was going on between them but then again, he has known Alex since they were just pups
Asher made his way out of the large set of buildings that housed some of the elders. There were some issues he had to deal with and now that he had dealt with them, he needed a long rest. "Greetings Alpha Asher.’’ a voice called at him, halting him as well.Asher turned and looked towards the direction of the voice and discovered that he was now staring at the last person he was expecting to see. Asher growled lightly under his breath as Elder Marcus continued to stride towards him. Asher doesn’t trust him and certainly does not want to have any form of personal discussion with him either."Greetings Elder Marcus” Asher said as politely as he could afford."How is the hunter’s daughter?’’ he asked and Asher raised a brow at him.Why was he asking? He wanted to ask him but had to hold back. It’s not that he cared, that much Asher knew. He was just trying to fish out information from him but if he thought he would feed him information about Elizabeth wellbeing so he can relate it to t
Beth’s POV.The next morning, Elizabeth woke up with a slight headache. The source of her headache was as a result of the mysterious dream she had overnight. To make matters worse, Beth had no idea where the dream originated from. It wasn’t clear to her and she had a hard time understanding what it truly meant. That woman was in her dream yet again demanding things from her she neither posses or could afford. Asher was in charge around whatever was happening between them. Nothing she says or does could change his attitude towards her. That she was aware of.She sighed, pulling herself into a siting position on the bed, her eyes darting around for Asher. She didn’t hear him come in last night and wondered if he even did at all. With no sign of the Alpha in sight, she let out a yawn, stretching her arms, just basking in the tranquility the early morning brought. Her mind went back to the dream once again, reflecting on her words once more before shaking her head slightly as though she
As quickly as he left her, Asher returned with a bowel of chicken soup in hand before settling beside her on the bed. Beth couldn’t help but stare openly at the man seating beside her.Placing the food tray beside her, he turned to face her, “Go on, eat it before it get cold” He offered and she gave a nod, still unable to find her word.Scooping some of the soup, she place it in her mouth and almost burned her tongue as well. “hold on, let me feed you”Asher took hold of the soup and began to feed her, first he would blow air at it before offering it to her. They both sat in silent while he continued to feed her, after a while, Beth couldn’t take the niceness anymore and decided to air out her thought.“I know you are trying to apologize for what you did but still, I can’t help but think this is too much for me to believe. I’m not used to being treated this way”A little sigh slipped out his mouth as he quickly placed the tray of food away. “I know this might look all fake and sudden
Asher's POVTired and in a foul mood, that was how Asher felt when he left the hall after speaking with the elders. Asher knew he spoke the truth yet what he couldn’t understand was why he was feeling that way. His mind was in total distraught. He wish they was a way he could get the elders off his back without having to deal with their constant questions and trailing. Even as Alpha, he has no right to take out the councils. The only person who could have done so was his own mother as well as the moon goddess herself but in recent times, she’s been silent. Asides that, the elders were put there long before Asher was even conceived and after his birth mother left for her spirit journey, She made sure the councils would guide him and because of that decision, he is left to deal with them. Asher was at a tight corner now. They were still clamoring for Elizabeth’s death as soon as she delivered. He couldn’t deny the feeling that came with that very decision.Yes, she deserve to be punis
It’s been an hour since they left in search of Elizabeth yet there was still no sign of her. It’s as if she had disappeared into thin air and leaving no single trace behind. It’s even crazier that the guards at the border didn’t see her walk by so she couldn’t have left. Asher’s frustration had quickly morphed into rage as he growled into the night and causing the guards with him to moved back in fear of what their Alpha might do seeing just how angry he was. “Where the fuck are you, Elizabeth” He growled yet again under his breath, his hands coiled into tight fist by his side. He was going out of his mind at this point, thinking the very worst as he stood with clenched jaw. Just about then, Alex called through the pack mind link. He had found Elizabeth. She is currently in her former room, fast asleep. Within seconds, Asher was rushing in through the room as he stood beside his Beta, both men staring down at her sleeping form coiled up on the sheet in the corner. The room was sti
The next day, Elizabeth woke up with a pounding in the head. Aside from the headache, her mood was dampen as well. Never has she felt so depressed and miserable all at the same time before. The memories of the previous day filtered through her mind as she dragged herself into a seating position on the bed. To her surprise, Asher was still sleeping on the bed. In a brief moment, Elizabeth wished she could just strangle him and end everything right there and then. But as quick as the thought came, it also disappeared as well. Despite everything that has happened, She knew she wasn’t a cold hearted killer like him and she would never succumb to strangling someone just to be free of him but that didn’t stop her eyes from glaring at him though as she stared at him, sleeping right next to her. Asher looked very handsome as he slept, so peaceful like a new born but Beth doubt if his heart was nothing close to being blameless. His heart was made of stone and there was nothing she could do
“And what will that change?” Asher asked with raised brow.“I don’t know but it’s a great way to start”“And if she doesn’t accept my apology?”Alex gave a half shoulder shrug, “If she doesn’t then you will have to be patient and keep apologizing till she does” “You don’t fucking get it do you?” Asher growled out in frustration. “it’s not about apologizing to her. This is far deeper and a lot more complicated. The execution is fast approaching and I don’t know if I can stop it and I don’t want to give her hope and then quash it because that would be worst”“No, worst would be going through with the damn execution and you know it” Alex yelled right back before he could get a grip on himself. “Look, Asher. I know you are the Alpha and has every right to do whatever but I’m just saying, maybe a death sentence is too big a punishment for someone who has nothing to do with what happened to Macy”At the sound of that name, Asher heard a ringing in his ears prompting him to shove his Beta h
