The planning of the wedding happened quick and before I knew it, I was standing in front of a mirror. In a wedding dress. The best one I could find. I knew it would hug my curves, making sure that Max’s mouth drops open when he saw me while keeping it classy enough that we would be allowed in the church. The church was nonnegotiable for my mother, and I wanted to give her what she wanted. She gave up a lot throughout my life as I had grown up.

“Oh, my Goodness, you look so beautiful,” she told me as she walked up behind me with a huge smile on her face.

I smiled back, “Thanks,” my hand went to my stomach while I took a deep breath. I would admit, only to myself, that I was nervous. “Is he ready?” I turn around and ask her.

She smiles with her lips pressed together, a clear sign she is holding back her laughter. I put my hands on my hips, narrowing my eyes. “Sorry,” Mom holds her hand up, “I just don’t know as I have ever seen you this nervous before.” I roll my eyes. “He is ready.
