Chapter 3

Elvira heard her father’s voice, and she started to sob. Looking at Lain, her mind started to recall the way he sucked mens’ blood that day. Her body started to tremble, and she could even hear her horror-filled heartbeat. How? How did this man come into her room? She couldn’t help but ask herself. 

She roamed her eyes all over Lain’s face and clutched the quilt tightly. He looked wildly handsome. She was honest with herself when she said she had never seen such a handsome man before. But she was too scared to enjoy his handsomeness or observe it. His thin lips pressed together, yet he didn’t leave her face as he remained looking at her calmly. Then suddenly he spoke!

“He tried to hide you from me!” Abandoning that remark, he turned and stormed out of the room. Elvira failed to understand anything or how to believe what had just happened. She was shocked. She clutched her head and started to pull her hair crazily. He found her! He found her. What should she do now? No… she felt she was losing her sanity. 

“YOU MOTHERFUCKING PIECE OF SHIT! I’M GONNA FUCK YOUR SOUL TONIGHT!” It was Lain’s furious roar. Elvira was stunned. She stopped pulling her hair and listened to his vicious tone. At the same time, she heard a painful groan and it was so similar to her father’s voice. 

“HUH? Didn’t you say she was fucking married? You dare to lie to me? I see, you were craving to die by my hands, right? Let me grant your wish! You fucking hid my mate from me! Can you imagine how furious I’m right now? I feel like killing every fucker in your pack!” tears rolled down from Elvira’s eyes. She felt Lain was hitting someone brutally, but she was scared to go out. 

“You didn’t want to give her to me? Huh? How fucking brave your weak ass is!” 

“Which… father wants.. to give his daughter to a.. Bloodthirsty beast like you? She’s no match for you…. She’s innocent! Don’t do this! Please just leave!” Elvira covered her face, hearing her father’s pain-filled voice. Her heart ached. She couldn’t understand why this thing was happening to them so suddenly. 

“Bloodthirsty beast? Heh? Of course I am! I am so thirsty for blood. But can you stop it? Bastard! You messed with the wrong person. If I want something, I will always get it!” Lain chuckled, kicking Seamus’s stomach. Lain’s beta lowered his head, not wanting to see what would happen to Seamus for committing such a terrible sin.

“I am killing you! I’m killing you right now!” throwing the death sentence at Seamus, Lain extended his claws to rip Seamus into shreds with no other thoughts. When he was about to kill Seamus, who was on the ground with a pool of blood surrounding him, he heard a voice which made his actions stop. 

“Please… don’t.. Don’t kill my father…” 

Lain turned back and looked at the girl who was looking at him. He turned his gaze on her for a few seconds. He looked as if he had become calm after seeing her, but no one could understand what was happening inside his head. What was he thinking, and what was his next move? Lain’s beta, Alec, knew that Lain was not a man a woman could stop, even if she was his mate. If he was furious, he would fucking kill the person so made him furious. 

“Please.. Don’t hit him… why would you hurt innocent people?” Wiping her tears, she stepped towards Seamus but Lain grabbed her from her arm and yanked her to him without letting her step closer to Seamus. Seamus was correct, she must be so innocent. He thought about looking at her. Lain took off his trench coat and placed it on her tiny shoulders without letting others see her skin because there were so many men there. 

“I have reasons! I would never hurt innocent people!” he said, grasping her chin. She looked at him with reddened eyes. As she looked at him, Lain witnessed how beautiful her sterling gray eyes were. He stroked her smooth cheek with his thumb while scanning every feature of her face. She looked alluring. No wonder the Alphas of other packs told him that Seamus’s daughter was the most gorgeous girl. 

“Don’t touch me!” She slapped his hand away making his heart turn cold. A sneer appeared on his face, and he pushed her away before turning to Seamus. He had no idea what kind of poison this bastard put into her head but he wouldn’t give a damn. He looked at Seamus to see tears rolling down his face as he looked at his daughter. He should cry! He should fucking cry for what he did! He didn’t have to do this thing. He was so fucking stubborn. How could he? 

“I’m taking her with me!” Lain said coldly. Seamus moved his eyes and looked at Lain, who was glaring at him coldly. Then he clenched his jaws and strictly shook his head, enduring the pain in his body after being beaten up by Lain brutally. Lain chuckled. This bastard is asking for death! Does he need anyone’s permission to take his mate with him? What a joke! 

“Alec. Pass me a dagger, I will give him a peaceful death! Remember.. A filthy bastard like you has no right to go against me!” With that, he caught the dagger that Alec passed him. When he was about to stab Seamus to death, Lain’s hand was grabbed by a pair of small and delicate hands. He sighed and rolled his eyes at the girl. 

“Don’t.. hurt him.. I.. I will go with you willingly if you let him live…” She said, putting on a brave face. Lain found she was so interested. He smiled at her and wrapped his free arm around her slim waist, pulling her to him. 

“Really?” He raised his perfect eyebrows playfully. 

“Y-yes…” She nodded at him. Her answer satisfied him and he nodded at her and looked at Seamus, who was shedding tears helplessly. This man asked for it! He should have known what the consequences of lying to him would be. No one dared to lie to him, but this bastard really got the guts to hide his mate from him.

“As long as she’s with me, you will have the chance to continue breathing. No one has ever lived who lied to me and tried to fool me. You must know it already!” Lain’s words made both Seamus and Elvira look into each other’s eyes. Elvira would never let her father die for something like this. She had lost her mother already, and she didn’t want to lose her father too. Seeing her father getting killed in front of her eyes was something that would kill her for the rest of her life so leaving with Lain was better than letting her father get killed. 

“Let’s go,” he said as he walked holding Elvira, who was crying. She kept looking back at her father, which fixed Lain’s heart with displeasure. He lowered his head until he reached her head and then whispered something. 

“Princess, look back one more time, I will change my decision.” Elvira immediately looked at Lain and subsequently looked ahead without looking back. She saw the maids in her mansion staring at her with surprised eyes, and she felt so broken and embarrassed as she lowered her head. She didn’t know how to face them. Because of her, something terrible happened inside the mansion. 

Opening the door for the backseats of the jeep, Lain pushed her inside it before getting himself in. After that, he shut the door loudly and turned his head, looking at the girl who was staring out of the window. She had moved so far away from him. She had simply moved to the other corner of the seat. 

“Name?” Lain asked while lighting a cigarette. But he didn’t get any answer. He chuckled because she was ignoring him. He pulled her by her arm to him and moved his face against her neck as he blew smoke against her neck. 

“Answer…” he whispered huskily. 

“E.. Elvira Umay…” His lips slowly curled upwards into a smile, hearing her name. So beautiful. Just like her appearance, the name was also beautiful. And the meaning of it was also a perfect match for her. 

“True hope… well, you’ll become my true hope from now on.”
