Bloodline

I need to get out of here. I began to run but stopped as I remembered leaving me and Jessie's purse at the bar. I ran back to the bar quickly and grabbed the bags when I suddenly felt someone hold my head from behind.

The last thing I heard was the snapping of my neck.

PRESENT

I dropped the make-up brush as I finished hiding the bruises on my face. I put a short pin in my hair that was packed into a bun.

An emergency council meeting will be held according to my dad yesterday and I didn't want to further annoy him by being late.

I walked out of my room and locked the door.

After my neck was snapped at that Vampire club, I jerked back to life a few minutes ago.

I didn't understand how I wasn't dead until I found out from Jessie that the drinks we had were usually spiked with Vampire blood.

I had not bloomed as a Werewolf so dying with Vampire blood in my system must have made me a Vampire and brought me back to life.

It's not logical, but that's the only possible explanation since I began to manifest Vampire abilities after that incident.

I never told my dad or anyone else cause I was afraid of what they would all think about me.

I began to poison myself with little bits of wolfsbane to suppress my wolf side whenever we were training.

I was afraid wolf rage would kick in and cause me to use my Vampire abilities. It made me display weakness, giving Tyler fucking Mikaelson the chance to be considered stronger and better.

"Eve-"

Speak of the devil.

I stopped walking and looked over my shoulder to see Tyler approach from down the hallway.

I continued walking, but he caught up with me.

"So, yesterday-"

I stopped walking immediately and faced him, "if you're here to mock me, your words mean nothing to me so how about you get the hell out of my face!"

The words flew out of my mouth in anger and he stared at me with a bit of surprise. Why? I hate his guts so none of the things I said should be surprising.

"Well, I wasn't here to mock you, I just wanted to ask if you were okay," he replied and I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah right, 'cause you were so worried about me," I said sarcastically.

"You went after three wolves including an Alpha, I just wanted to know if you were okay," Tyler stated with a bit of frustration and irritation in his voice.

He was being so pretentious and it was annoying.

"Look, you don't get to turn my dad against me and pretend like you give a fuck about what happens to me, just stop it already!" I confronted him angrily.

He scoffed, "wh...what are you talking about?" He asked, staring at me in disbelief.

Oh, for fuck's sake, I just want to ruin that pretentious face with my fist.

"Stop it! You told my dad I stabbed you to the table so you'll have an excuse for why you couldn't bring home the MoonGem and get my dad mad at me!" I yelled and breathed, looking at both sides of the hallway to check if anyone saw my outburst.

"I didn't."

Oh, so he's lying too.

"I didn't because I didn't have to!" He raised his voice.

"The full moon started rising and I had to stab myself with a heavy dose of Wolfsbane to prevent myself from turning out in the open!"

I felt guilty immediately and my lips quivered as I tried to find something to say.

"The guards you ditched brought me back and I was brought to the clinic, going through so much pain and having the wolfsbane extracted from me!" He said angrily.

"I....I...."

"Everything isn't always going to be about you or go your way, Evelyn!" He pointed at me angrily before walking away.

I scoffed as I watched him walk away. He just turned everything around on me.

"You're just playing the victim!" I threw my hands in frustration and went after him.

He got to the General chamber before I could catch up and I had to compose myself before walking into the room.

The meeting had already started. I took my seat and glanced at Tyler who avoided eye contact with me. I've never seen him be this angry towards me.

He even called me Evelyn. I scoffed.

"Did my words not make sense to you, Evelyn?" My dad asked and I realized I had scoffed out loud while he was talking.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to," I apologized quickly.

"So, we found out that the Red Cedar Pack are the ones who managed to acquire the MoonGem last night," my dad said and I noticed that everyone was either trying to avoid looking at me or stealing glances.

I couldn't have fought two wolves and an Alpha even if I was in my wolf form.

"The Lunar Eclipse is in 3 months, we have to find a way to get the MoonGem from them," Elder Logan said.

"That would require a direct confrontation and it will be ugly," Tyler stated.

"We could steal it from them," Kaleb suggested.

"Something like that would be sacredly guarded and we might never even get to lay our eyes on it before the Lunar Eclipse."

"Well, maybe what we need to do is make a mutual agreement with the Red Cedar pack," Elder Fiona said and everyone faced her.

"Yes, if we unite with the Red Cedar Pack through a marriage, when the ritual is performed, both packs and all our bloodlines will benefit from it," she explained and everyone nodded in support.

An arranged marriage?

"Who's going to do it?" Kaleb asked.

"For it to work, it has to be someone from the Alpha bloodline," Elder Logan said and I sat up straight as I realized that I was the only female from the Alpha bloodline.

"It has to be Evelyn."
