The heat in the private bedchamber was suffocating, thick with the scent of wild jasmine, dark cedarwood, and the sharp metallic tang of fresh blood.

Caelum’s lips were still wet from her kiss. He leaned down, his forehead resting against hers, his ragged breathing fanning hot across Lyra’s flushed skin. His large hands remained pinned at the sides of her neck, thumbs gently caressing the erratic, hammering pulse at her throat.

"If Silas reaches the High Council," Lyra whispered, her chest heaving against his bare torso, "he will rally the four allied packs against us. You're still weak, Caelum. The dark silver is still calcified around your core. In a formal Council duel, you won't survive."

Caelum let out a low, gravelly growl that vibrated straight through her breastbone. "I don't need my sight to slaughter my uncle, Lyra."

"It's not just your sight!" Lyra snapped, her inner wolf surging with protective desperation. She reached up, wrapping her fingers around his large, warm wrists. "The silver in your spine is acting like a toxin sponge. Every time you exert your Alpha aura, it spreads closer to your heart. At this rate, your organs will fail within forty-eight hours."

Caelum went still. Even behind his unseeing silver eyes, his gaze felt impossibly heavy, pinning her to the bed.

"Then cure me, little doctor," Caelum rumbled softly, his voice dropping into a dangerously sensual register. "You said your royal energy neutralized the poison when you touched my skin. How do we flush it out completely?"

Lyra swallowed hard, the warmth pooling in her lower abdomen as his thumb stroked over her collarbone. She knew the ancient medical texts from her mother’s Sun-Marked lineage. There was only one way to purge dark silver from an Alpha King’s bloodstream in a matter of hours.

"A blood exchange," Lyra choked out, her face burning. "The Sun-Marked bloodline carries raw solar mana. If you drink directly from my vein while my royal power is active... it will incinerate the dark silver from the inside out."

A dark, lethal hunger flared across Caelum’s sculpted features. His inner wolf purred—a deep, animalistic vibration that made Lyra’s thighs tremble beneath her gown.

"You want me to taste you?" Caelum growled, his lips brushing the delicate curve where her neck met her shoulder. His fangs elongated slightly, grazing her skin in a silent, intoxicating threat. "Do you have any idea what drinking a female’s blood does to a Lycan Alpha, Lyra? It creates a temporary soul-tether. You will feel everything I feel. My hunger, my rage... my desire for you."

"We don't have a choice," Lyra gasped, her hands instinctively tightening on his broad shoulders. "Silas won't wait. Do it, Caelum."

Caelum didn't hesitate another second.

With a low snarl, he pulled her up against his chest. One hand clamped around her waist, pulling her flush against his rock-hard body, while his other hand cupped the back of her head. He tilted her neck back, exposing the smooth, pale expanse of her throat.

"Brace yourself, Queen," Caelum growled against her skin.

He sank his sharp fangs deep into her pulse point.

Lyra let out a sharp, breathless gasp. Pain flared for a split second, immediately replaced by an explosive wave of pure, liquid heat that shot through every nerve in her body.

A blinding golden light erupted beneath Lyra’s skin. Her Sun-Marked bloodline roared to life, sending a surge of molten golden energy directly into Caelum’s mouth.

Caelum groaned heavily against her neck, drinking greedily. His body shuddered as the royal blood hit his system like liquid fire. Across his chest, the blackened, silver-poisoned veins flared bright crimson before instantly evaporating into smoke. The dark, sickly grey undertone of his skin vanished, replaced by radiant, primal health.

The soul-tether snapped into place.

Lyra cried out as his thoughts crashed into her mind—an overwhelming tsunami of possessive, feral love, raw protective fury, and an unquenchable physical hunger for her. She felt his heartbeat thundering in sync with hers. She felt the exact moment his strength flooded back tenfold.

Caelum pulled his fangs back, his tongue soothing the small puncture wounds on her throat until the bleeding stopped. He looked up, his chest heaving.

The black veins in his silver eyes were completely gone. The irises burned with a brilliant, terrifying gold-and-silver fire.

"Lyra..." Caelum rasped, his voice dropping an octave into pure, apex dominance. His hands tightened around her hips, lifting her effortless until she was straddling him. "I can see you."

Lyra’s breath hitched. "What?"

"I see you," Caelum said again, his glowing eyes fixed on her face, studying every detail, her golden-tinted eyes, her trembling pink lips, her unkempt dark hair. A dark, possessive smirk spread across his face. "You are even more beautiful than my wolf promised."

Before Lyra could speak, a frantic mental scream shattered the mind-link from Beta Marcus:

“ALPHA! IT’S A DISTRACTION!” Marcus roared telepathically, his voice laced with static and horror. “Silas didn't retreat to the Council! He sent Lady Freya and a hit squad into the human border territory! They’ve located the Underground Rogue Sanctuary! They are setting it on fire right now to force your mate to surrender!”

Lyra’s world collapsed in a fraction of a second. "Lily... the children..."

He immediately dropped to his knees before her, his large, calloused hands sliding up her thighs, checking her for any hidden wounds. His touch was surprisingly tender for a man who had just dismantled an army of void warriors minutes prior."Caelum, I'm truly not hurt," Lyra whispered, her fingers sliding through his thick black hair, lifting his face so his gold-and-silver eyes met hers."I almost lost you," Caelum rumbled softly, his voice trembling with raw, unshielded emotion. "When that blast went off... my heart stopped, Lyra."He leaned up, placing his forehead against hers, his hot breath fanning across her lips. The air was thick and heady with the scent of dark chocolate and cedarwood, coiling around her senses."You are my absolute world," Caelum purred, a low, animalistic sound vibr

The massive ramp of the gunship slammed down forcefully onto the helipad of the Obsidian Ridge Citadel, which lay covered in rain.As Lyra made her way through the magnificent stone hallways of the royal fortress, Caelum guided her. The War Room, which was located underground, was entered by heavy iron doors that opened. Inside, thirty of the most powerful pack generals and elders were seated around a glowing stone table.Elder Vance was a large, weathered wolf with white-silver hair who wore the regal robes of the royal house. He was serving as the head of the table. It was a massive silver signet ring that pulsated with a faint, corrupted black glow, and it was sitting on his thumb. It is Caelum! There you are, at long last! Elder Vance yelled out while bending his head ever-so-slightly, yet his dark eyes continued to fixate on Lyra with a lustful gaze. Moreover, you brought the Sun Princess! That is truly remarkable. This is the last piece of the puzzle that we require. As Caelum mo
