June 23rd

Vanessa’s POV

The sun was already high when Daniel told me to get ready. We were leaving the villa for the day, and though part of me wanted to stay wrapped in the quiet luxury of our hideaway, something in his tone suggested that he had plans he wasn’t going to let me wiggle out of.

“Lunch first, then I’ve got a surprise,” he said, sliding his sunglasses into place as we stepped outside.

The driver opened the door, and soon we were winding through Zanzibar’s streets. The air smelled of spice and sea, salt drifting over bright markets crowded with woven baskets and fresh fruit. I caught Daniel watching me from the corner of his eye, almost amused by how eagerly I soaked in the sights.

“You’ve got that look again,” he said.

“What look?” I asked.

“The one that says you’re about to take off running barefoot through the market, tasting everything, touching everything. Like the whole world is new to you.”

I laughed, rolling my eyes, but his voice carried warmth. Still, something

Vanessa POVJune 25thThe plane from Zanzibar touched down in London just after dawn, and the weight of the last few days pressed down on me like a storm. My body was tired, but my heart was heavier.France was waiting. The show. My career. My team already counting on me to appear put together, to stand tall on runways and stages as if my soul wasn’t cracking. But before all that, I needed to breathe. To gather myself. To see Liam.Daniel had offered to fly with me back to the UK, but I asked him not to. I couldn’t— not after last night, not after the way everything had burned out between us like fire snuffed mid-flame. He was hurt, I knew that, but so was I. And in truth, my heart had been elsewhere the entire time. The drive to Mandi’s house was quiet, London still waking up, mist clinging to the narrow streets. When I finally stepped inside, the familiar scent of her home, coffee and baked bread and children’s laughter—wrapped around me like balm.Liam came running down the hallway

Edward POVThe call came in the middle of my love confession for Vanessa. One moment I was declaring love, the next Tobias was standing in the doorway, pale as stone, eyes frantic.“Edward,” he said. His voice wasn’t steady. “It’s Mom and Alessa. Car accident. They’ve been rushed to the hospital.”The ground dropped out beneath me.I didn’t wait to ask questions. I was already out of the conference room, reporters scattering, tie yanked loose as though I could breathe easier without it. The ride with Tobias was a blur of sirens and silent prayers I didn’t know how to form anymore. The hospital lights were a facade. Bright, sterile, too clean for the wreckage I knew lay inside. The smell of antiseptic clung to everything, burning the back of my throat.“Family of Juliana Silver?” a nurse called, clipboard clutched to her chest.“That’s us,” I said, Tobias at my shoulder.“They’re stable, but—” She glanced down at her notes. “Your mother sustained a concussion and a fractured femur. She

Daniel POVJune 24thThe walls of the villa felt too bright, too open. Every laugh, every trace of sunlight streaming in through the glass felt like a mockery of how hollow I was inside.I really thought I could change things. Thought if I brought her here, showed her freedom, gave her laughter again, she’d look at me. Not past me, not through me, but at me. That she’d let me in.Instead, I’d watched her eyes drift elsewhere, always chasing a ghost she couldn’t shake. Now the ghost had a name. Edward.I sat on the edge of my bed, hands knotted together, knuckles white, staring at the tiled floor as though it held the answers. My chest felt tight, raw, like every breath was sandpaper.Through the thin walls, I heard her moving—drawers sliding shut, the zipper of a suitcase pulling closed. The sound was final, slicing me open. She was leaving. No matter how much I gave, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t hold her here. Couldn’t make her choose me.When the knock came, it was soft.

  • Taming Mr Billionaire    Chapter 130- The Whole World Knows

June 24thEdward POVI avoided meetings at the company for almost 2 weeks. My mind wasn’t anywhere near steady to make business related decisions.Jules thought she had won, and Alessa clung to her like a lost sheep.Tobias was the only one who at least tried to keep me sane.Everything around me was slowly tearing apart. And Vanessa’s response over the last call we had, sent me into a spiral of unclear thoughts‘What if she doesn’t give me another chance?’‘How can I move on from her?’ I was seated in the board room as the CEO of my company. The faint smell of coffee and leather filled the atmosphere, and it was still charged from the meeting we had just wrapped up. Contracts signed, new ventures laid out, investors appeased. On paper, everything was solid. Profits high, expansion guaranteed. But as I buttoned my jacket and followed Tobias out toward the conference hall, I felt the truth gnawing inside me. All the success in the world meant nothing if Vanessa wasn’t beside me.The

Vanessa POVDinner was laid out under the stars, lanterns flickering low against the soft hum of the ocean. The air smelled faintly of grilled fish, oranges, and sea salt. I wore a loose sundress, the fabric clinging in places where the humid night had kissed my skin. Daniel sat across from me, glass in hand, eyes catching the glow of candlelight. He was talking about the zoo trip and restaurant outing, his grin wide, animated and alive. His joy was magnetic, pulling me in against my better judgment. For the first time in what felt like weeks, I caught myself smiling without forcing it.But beneath that ease lay a tightness I couldn’t shake, a string tugging at the center of my chest. Edward’s voice still lingered from our earlier call, haunting me, pulling me in one direction while Daniel, so steady and insistent, tugged me toward another. After dinner, we lingered over drinks, with the ocean waves crashing nearby. Daniel leaned back in his chair, shirt sleeves rolled to his forearms
