Die By The Law

Days passed and Diana thought she was free from the marriage arrangement with the last prince. Her father never talked about it.

At least she was death free!

She got ready for the day and headed to her shop. The market was busy and crowded. People were whispering and murmuring but Diana didn't mind any of it and just focused on what brought her to the market.

Her small fashion business was doing very well until a customer came by.

The woman looked upset as she held one of the dresses that was being made by Diana; the seamstress.

"Is this what you want me to wear to my engagement party?" The woman yelled angrily. She slammed the dress on Diana's face.

Diana's shop was in an open area, so passersby witnessed the scene; except those who had their businesses to mind.

"I ordered a v-shaped neck and the dress is nothing to my expectations." The angry woman yelled again.

The seamstress in question took the cloth off her face to examine the errors. She remembered vividly how she made the dress out of her sweat so what's all this drama for?

"Madam, I can't see any error here." Diana stood up from her seat and wore the dress on her dummy used for display.

The passerby who had witnessed the scene and saw the dress displayed were amazed. They never knew Diana would make a lovely dress.

They underestimated her because of how small her shop looked. It barely contained.

After she was done, she turned to the woman who was fuming in anger. "Madam, this is the exact dress you wanted and I got proof here." She raised her measurement and jotting book.

The woman was speechless.

"You want to cause trouble for this poor seamstress."

"There's nothing wrong with the dress!"

"Why is the woman a pain in the butt?"

"What are you trying to prove?"

The passerby directed their questions to the woman.

Diana had her hands crossed in front of her chest, gazing into the woman's eyes.

Who sent this woman to frame her?

"I'm sorry for causing you trouble. I'll just take the dress and go." The woman hastily said as she lowered her head in shame.

She came here yelling at the victim and now it was the opposite.

Diana's face remained calm as she pulled the cloth away from the dummy. "You'll have to pay extra coins for the show you just displayed." She said mockingly but her face was expressionless.

The woman balled her hands into a fist but what can she do?! She handed over thirty pieces of gold coins to Diana before leaving with the dress.

"Phew!!" Diana sighed in relief.

Thirty pieces of the gold coin were just a fine sum.

But come to think of it, who the hell sent that woman to spoil her day? At least she was able to overcome it.

Hours passed by and she got the to customer go attend to her.

What a bad day?!

She slowly began to think about the King's words.

"I'm going to promote your business. You'll get to make good clothes for me; the king and other dignitaries."

Thinking about the King's words made her frown.

Of all the princes, she was given the chance to marry the blind prince that was rumored to be cursed.

Even his family admitted to the fact that he was cursed.

But the golden opportunities that the king offered were something that cannot be overlooked.

She cursed within her for being so unfortunate. The tired woman yawned loudly and retired for the day. She locked the wooded doors of her shop before leaving.

With the thirty pieces of gold coins in her purse, she was going to shop a lot at the royal market.

At the palace, the king called unto the last prince at the royal chambers, alongside the other two princes.

The last prince got his eyes tied in a white cloth. His long silver hair cascaded down his shoulders and he had the aura of danger surrounding him. He was elegantly dressed, even more than the crown prince but no one dared go admire him.

"Father you called!" The crown prince said.

The old king cleared his throat before he began to speak.

"I called you three here because I have something to say and it's about Damon."

The two princes glanced at each other before glaring at the last prince; Damon.

Damon, on the other hand, was gentle, he kept his guard down as he listened to what his damn father had to say about him.

"I want him to get married to the seamstress as soon as possible." The king said with a low tone.

He wasn't showing any concern for his blind son of his but he wants to get rid of him.

"That's ridiculous!" The crown burst into a peal of hilarious laughter and the second prince joined.

"Since the seamstress' father had already agreed to the fact that she'll get married to Damon. Do you perhaps want her to die?"

"Have you forgotten the law?" The king sneered.

"Damon is bad luck. I pity the poor lady." The second prince said in between his teeth, glaring at Damon.

The man in question didn't seem to be angry by their words as his lips twitched a bit.

No one knows what he had in mind!

"I indeed pity her and I also don't want her to die." The crown prince said. "Why won't she marry me instead?" The crown prince suggested.

The room was tense. Even Damon didn't believe his ears.

Wasn't the crown prince the one who always speaks ill about her?

"I told her father that you're already betrothed to someone. Besides, that girl doesn't fit your standard." The King said with a serious tone. They all understood the hidden meaning of his words.

He turned to face his cursed son with a serious expression sitting on his face. "Do you want that poor girl to die by the law?"

A smirk formed on Damon's lips as they were all expecting his answer.

"Yes! I want her to die!"
