Everything in me stopped, sweat breaking out in an instant as I stared into the void his eyes had. “W… what scent?” My body trembled, my fingers twitching, his brows came together, his gaze lowering to my chest. I didn’t think next, I should have, but I didn’t, I put my hands out, pushing at his huge chest with all my might. Gasps filled the hall as he stumbled backwards, giving me more than enough space. Not for once trying to look in his direction, I turned on my heels and ran. The hallway was crowded, those who watched what had happened, those who had phone cameras out, curses were thrown at me from those I pushed past, but I didn’t care, I had escaped. My breathing came in pants now, I pushed the door to my dorm open, smashing it back close when I was inside and bolting it locked. Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! My heart rate spiked, each movement of my chest threatened to speed up my heart disease. What in the seven heavens have I done? How did he get my scent? Who the fuck was he? My head spiraled, my legs moved on their own accord, walking from my door to my bed and back, over and over. My scent! I whipped my inner wrist to my nose and sniffed, my blood went cold, my scent had slipped! In some way, the potion dad gave had cleared already. ‘He did tell you it was going to last for three hours alone.’ Lyra, my wolf whispered in my head. I furrowed my brows, she had been quiet for a week, the proud thing had refused to speak to me after Dad announced i’ll be coming here. She hated the idea, and hated me more for agreeing to it. ‘Go back into hiding, would you.’ I glared at her, she couldn’t see it, but she sure as hell could feel it. ‘And miss the perfect opportunity to say -I told you so-? I think the fuck not.’ Ignoring her, I reached out for my scent blocker from my pocket, my eyes widened the second the liquid began dripping from my fingers. “It’s… broken?” I stared at the crack of the small vial glass, asking no one in particular. “Ofcourse it’s broken! That bastard pushed me to the wall like I had stolen his heritage, the force must have caused it.” Goddess! I fell to my knees, raking a hand through my short black hair. Dad had packed me extra, but I didn’t have enough to afford wasting some dammit! Exhaling, I reapplied what was left in the golden glass around my sweat pores. If they figured out what I was, I would be dead, my people too, they would figure some of the Banished were still alive. I couldn’t afford mistakes. None. I had to reduce the amount I was applying, which also meant I had to keep everyone at arms length, literally. Anyone who got super close to me would get the whiff of my scent, and it would all be over. A knock came on the door, startling me from my thoughts, my eyes flashed, what if it was that bastard from earlier? Clearing my throat, I stood from the ground, hiding the empty scent portions in my hoodie jacket. “Coming…” I called out in a forged manly voice, unbolting the door. I exhaled when a middle aged woman came in, she wore a suit that had a wolf entwined with a moon crest on her breast jacket. “Hi…” I straightened my stance, mimicking that of an Alpha, she looked around the room in disgust, I could tell the Potion that had spilled would fill the entire room with the alpha scent. “Lucius Bernard?” She rose a brow and I nodded. “Good, there has been an issue in your dorm choice.” My eyes widened. “W.. what?” She rose a brow and I cleared my throat, realizing my female voice had slipped for a second. Fuck. “Proceed.” Ignoring it, she continued. “Due to the problem, a change has been made in your dorm choice, you’re being moved into a triple suite.” Her lips curved up in a smile, one that showed I should be excited. “You really are lucky, that is the best dorm this school has, you will be moving in with the elites, pack up, I’ll direct you.” I could feel the bile rise in my throat. Her lips were moving but I heard nothing. “I don’t want to be moved… I… I love it here.” “You might be an alpha, but you should know everyone here will follow the school rules, unless you’re an elite—“ her judgmental eyes raked through me. “which you clearly are not, you will obey the rules, I’ll give you ten minutes to pack, nothing more.” No, this was too risky, a triple suite meant three roommates, meant three people having more than enough room to find out who I really was. Five minutes later and she was back, she guided me through the marble floored hall, we passed the one that I knew other students occupied, walking further into another that was designed with mage lights, like it was a different world. Every step we took deeper into the suite sent goosebumps raking down my arm, eventually, we reached a door, unlike the others, it was a double sided door, she knocked once, turning to me next. “Enter when they respond.” She turned to walk away, stopping for a bit before turning back. “I’m going to say this and I would say it once, if those guys in there tell you to bark, you fucking bark. They are not patient ones, Rosy cheeks.” She said the last one in mockery, looking me up and down. “And maybe try growing a muscle or two, you look way too breakable and those boys in there would shatter you if they so as wish.” With that, she exited and the door drifted open next. A bare chest came into my line of sight, my breath hitched as I tilted my head upwards, as fast as my traitorous eyes would let me, it took in every part of the man before me until it reached his face. My face fell, my once heated skin going cold in an instant. “What are you waiting for, Little hands, come into your home.” He said, I recognized him to be one of the two guys that stayed beside the guy I had pushed, and the school representative had mentioned this being a triple suite. No…. Every hair at the back of my neck stood, no, no, no! That meant, the suite belong to them, the guys I saw at the cafeteria, the one everyone feared, the same group I had attacked the bigger one from. All three of them. “I think I’m just lost…” I forced a smile, “I’ll go back to my dor—“ “You’re exactly where you need to be.” He reached for me, grabbing my hoodie cap and pulling me into the room before shutting the door closed. “Let go of me!” I scrambled, pushing at him but he felt like a goddanm giant! “Fucking let go of me.” “Take it easy with our new roommate, Jaxon,” Another voice said, I jerked my eyes towards him, the second guy from the cafeteria laid on a king sized bed, he was shirtless too, a magazine that displayed naked girls on its cover in his hands. “You wouldn’t want him to pass out before he gets the real fun now, would you?” “Wh…. Who are you?” My voice shook, it was a shock I was still able to keep the forged bass. The guy behind me, Jaxon, let go of my hoodie cap, taking his hand up in surrender and taking a step back. My heart rate spiked, my eyes darting from the both of the guys who had their full attention on me, and then I glanced towards the door. I was smaller than them, hence faster. If these two were here, then it didn’t take a genius to know the third guy, the one who I had pushed, the one who seemed to have the devil in his eyes, was yet to arrive, and I had a feeling I didn’t want to be here to witness it. The guy on the bed tilted his head slightly, as though reading my mind and daring me to run, like hell I wouldn't. One beat later and I sprinted towards the door, it opened in an instant and pain exploded into my brain as I ran into hard rocked abs, stumbling backwards, I landed on my ass, my vision blurred for a second before coming back together. “Valen, finally, I almost thought you’d be late to the show, Jaxon almost killed your new found puppy.” One of the guys taunted. My breath hitched as I looked up at the guy who had walked in, his purple eyes burning into mine, I could feel the scent blocker I had used slowly fading as sweat beads ran down my wrist, neck and arms. “And where do you think you’re running to, Little mouse?” Valen looked down at me, a wicked smirk on the side of his lips, his eyes promising suffering, a lot of suffering, and in some fucked up way, he knew I could read it. “I want to know what you are, and those pretty pink lips of yours better start moving or i’d find something else that’s pink and work with that instead.” He tilted his head, his gaze darting to my trousers. “Which is it going to be sunshine?”ELORA'S pov"Valen!" I called again, my legs hurting from how fast his movements were, why the hell was he in such a d*mn hurry.'You're an Alpha, stop f*ck*ng screeching!' Lyra sighed, I could imagine her face-palming herself tiredly.I'm about to mentally tell her to shut up but the suite doors materialize before Valen and I, when did we even get here?Next, he placed his fingerprint on the electric door and it slid open. Pulling me inside, he hurled me around until my *ss fell flat on the bed. My body bouncing from the impact."What the f*ck is your problem!" My hands fisted, anger rising in my blood. I'm trying so hard to keep the forged male voice, but with the rage bubbling deep inside me, it feels so d*mn impossible."Why didn't you tell me you haven't taken anything before you fought with that Jake?" The veins on his arms became more prominent, his eyes on me intensifying by the second."Why would I tell you if I've eaten or not?" I narrowed my lashes. "Last I recall we are no
ELORA'S povMy mouth dropped open, my eyes blaring into Valen's purple ones. The bridge of my ears tickled, like they were trying to figure out if he actually said what I thought he said."Do I need to repeat myself, Lucius?" His brows came up in a questioning glare. I shook my head slowly, swallowing past the lump in my throat and walking into the circle."Go! Jake!" Some of Blue shirt's friends hollered, cheering him on. "He looks like a scaredy cat, you can crush him with your eyes closed."An already energized Jake laughed, the sound maniac as his eyes pierced through mine, bouncing through the ring and surrounding me like he's actually planning on obeying his friends.I'm about to turn back to Valen and plead for him to stop this madness, but I think better of it. The look Valen has on me is so carefully placed, that anyone who was smart would know he had an agenda, like he had put me in this position to test my limits, to know just how skilled I am or more like, how much of a da
ELORA'S povStepping out from the bathroom, I took one step after another, making sure the towel was wrapped properly around me.The door closing seconds ago was an indication no one currently occupied the room, but still, after almost being caught, I had to be extra careful.I exhaled when I confirmed it was indeed empty, my eyes darted towards the table by the side, the room lit up with the kind of sweet aroma that made one's stomach protest. The food was covered and that should have been my cue to leave it alone, but curiosity took the better of me, I opened it, seeing the mouth-watering slices of pancake, a trail of honey draped over it, and a bowl of mustard soup sat next to it.F*ck!I closed my eyes, placing the cover back. Why the hell would Valen bring this here just to leave immediately after?Rolling my eyes, I proceeded to dress up, making sure my scent blocker was in place and doubling it. Training meant sweating, and training with Valen meant danger.****"He just arrive
Elora's pov"Would you like to tell me what you were doing searching the management's office last night?"I went still, my heart spiked up into a thousand suns as I whipped my gaze to him. The smirk he once had, had now disappeared, morphing into something else I couldn't name.Anger? Curiousity?A swallow passed through me, I tried to maintain eye contact with him. "I..."He tilted his head, a brow lifted like he was daring me to lie. "Go on...""I wanted to ask for a change of room." The lie flowed freely, my hand on the table folded into fists, "I didn't meet them there, so I had to search for the documents... To see if I could switch the room myself."His gaze on me intensified, if he believed me or didn't, he sure as hell didn't show. My fingers dug into my nail, begging the moon goddess that he didn't smell out my lies."You will pay for what you did yesterday, you do know that, right?" His tone dropped into a deadly tone. Goosebumps raked through my body."You touched my bre—"
ELORA'S pov My mouth clamped shut, every air I took against his hand wrapped around my neck felt like wolfsbane being shoved over my throat. But I didn’t move, didn’t flinch. Because if the man beside me was exactly like the rumors had stated, then he didn’t make empty threats, I knew deep down he would make true of his words if I pushed him.“Cats caught your tongue little mouse?” The vibration from his deep bass voice almost sent me weak to my knees, I swallowed, fighting the pain from the unusual angle my neck was still turned in.“W… what do you want with me? I already apologized for spilling the food on you.” My voice cracked and I hated that he heard it.A shrilling laugh came from behind me, and before I could react, his hand around my neck tightened, pulling me and slamming me to the wall, and next, both his arms came up, caging me in against the wall, hands braced beside my head. He leaned in, too close, too fucking calm. His breath was a whisper from my lips.Everything in
ELORA'S pov My eyes blurred, every blood felt like it was being drained from me, and I wished it was only because of what he just said, the assault he had just promised, but no, it was far from that.Because one of the guys behind had just called him a name, one I knew, one every banished was terrified of. Valen. The world only knew one Valen in the wolf realm, half because no one dared to name their offsprings that, and second because the only person who had Valen as a name was known to be the most ruthless and blood lust filled Alpha King in the world of werewolves. And his last name ended with Thorne. My throat dried up instantly, my skin crawling like it was on fire, even Lyra shivered inside me. Because if the person before me right now was Valen Thorne, then it meant everything father and the banished had believed for years had been false. When Father was thrown out, he was told the order came from the alpha, Valen Thorne. But then that was the problem, my eyes scanned through
