Lovette POV

“Your dad isn't coming over any longer, he said to meet up at some resort where we could talk,” my mother said.

Left for me, I couldn't care less. I didn't even want to have any form of conversation with him but my mum insisted that I at least try because in the end he was still my Dad.

I sat on my bed, staring blankly at the wall as my mother's words sunk in. The thought of meeting up with him at some resort to "talk" filled me with dread.

"Do I have to go?" I asked, turning to my mother.

She sighed and sat down beside me, placing a hand on my shoulder. "I know it's not easy for you, but he's still your father. He wants to try and make things right between the two of you."

I gritted my teeth, anger rising in my chest. "He's had plenty of opportunities to do that before now. Why should I believe he's serious this time?"
