Tangled

Ralph POVI was fuming with anger. I wonder why you can't choose the life you want to have. Why did nature have to create me like this? I wondered. I was to attend a party organized by college mates, but my parents refused for me to attend. They are overprotective even when it's not needed. Isn't choice the power of man, so why don't I have a choice in my life.My parents are werewolves. And unfortunately, I have to automatically become a werewolf. I don't like being one. I would rather be a human. I don't have to worry about turning into an animal with claws and sharp teeth. I can also be with any lady of my choice, not tied down to the moon goodess deciding who my life mate will be.There is a rule with werewolves, the moon goddess will be the one to choose who your life mate is when the time comes. And there is this bond they claim will be shared amongst you too. I don't want to be tied down into a particular lady that I don't love. I find it lame, actually. What if the lady isn't

“Wakey wakey, lazy bones” Connor was trying to get me up from bed by tapping my forehead. What is it with people always trying to cut one’s sleep short? I was not a morning person, so waking up was usually a difficult task for me. Cradling a pillow to my chest, I stirred in my sleep.“Ugh, why did you have to wake me up so early?” I checked the time on the clock on the nightstand and groaned. I purposely did not set the alarm cause I wanted to enjoy my sleep peacefully.“What a beautiful morning it is, we need to catch up and explore,” He explained. He was way too excited. Sometimes I wonder if he should have been born as a female. He fits the description of a female friend. “I’m awake. You can leave the room. I’ll come to join you soon,” I told him. Hearing that, he left the room.I got up from the bed groggily. My body was still numb. Probably from the previous day’s trip. I had on oversized black tees with pink shorts, and my hair was all tangled.I went to the bathroom, splashed

Ralph POVConnell dashed out of the room in the blink of an eye. I looked towards my Father, and he was fuming with anger. Most of his anger was directed at me. Probably because I still remained in the house and did not run just like Connell did.I scratched the back of my neck and slowly stood up. Lovette looked like she wanted to be anywhere but here at that moment.“Oops, we are done for. What are you still doing in there?” Connell mind linked me. I tried to shut him out. I didn’t want to hear any more pestering from him.“And what are you still doing here?” My Father demanded.Lovette was giving me the stink eye urging me to go out with her hands facing the direction of the door.“I’ll be on my way”, I mumbled.I’m not sure Lovette heard, but I’m certain my Father heard what I said loud and clearly.“In case you didn’t know, I’m here to tell you that we have rogues roaming around, and their scents have been perceived at the Shadow’s pack.”“Every single soul must be present at th

Lovette POVThe morning sun streams through the window, gently rousing me from my sleep. I remained motionless as I became aware of the sound of birds chirping outside. I got out of bed and stood in the middle of the room, rubbing the last traces of sleep out of my eyes. I took a deep breath in the morning, feeling the energy of the day ahead of me. I walked over to the sink and splashed cool water on my face, waking up the last remnants of sleepiness.I made my way out of the bathroom, noticing that the morning sun had already started to warm up the day. The aroma of breakfast cooking in the kitchen lured me out of bed. I made my way down the stairs, eager to start the day, and was greeted by the aroma of freshly made pancakes. I sat down at the table, eager to sample the food that had been prepared. I began to eat, feeling the warmth of the pancakes and the flavours of butter, syrup, and sugar in each bite. The house was unexpectedly quiet. I was the only one at the table. Susan

Lovette POVI dashed into the house, leaving Ralph behind. I couldn’t believe what had just happened as tears streamed down my cheeks. I had been so caught up in the moment with Ralph I hadn’t even noticed Connor passing by.Now, I felt embarrassed and foolish, and all I wanted to do was hide away in my room.I shut the door and collapsed onto my bed, burying my face in my pillow. I couldn’t believe how stupid I’d been to let my emotions get the best of me. I had always prided myself on being calm and rational.Yeah, I know I had a little crush on him, but I wasn’t expecting things to move so fast. This is what happens when you don’t think before you act.I sighed as I remembered the image of Connor grinning like a fool, it was suspicious, to say the least, and I couldn’t help but wonder if it was just an act to cover up his true feelings.Who knew what was going on in his head?Regardless, I knew that he would never let me live it down. He was going to tease me about it for the rest
