Lydia’s POV

I picked up the bucket filled with icy cold water and dumped it in Kora with a satisfied smile on my face, droplets spraying onto the dusty floor. She suddenly woke up, coughing out the water that had made their way into her mouth.

“Rise and shine,” I said, waving at her. “You’ve been sleeping far too peacefully for my liking.”

She looked up at me, disoriented, her eyes trying to focus. I tossed the bucket aside.

"Ly....Lydia." her voice came out in a whisper but I heard it. She scrunched her face in pain, I could tell her head was still hurting. That was good.

I bent low before her, just enough for her to see what i was about show her. I took out her phone from my pocket and showed it to her.

There were tons and tons of missed calls followed by so many text notifications. And the name that appeared again and again—Derek.

"Looks like your biggest fan really likes you." I laughed. "He called you how many times, let me check." I turned the phone to face me.
