"RUN!" Kingsley's scream pierced the night as the bats transformed above them. Their wings stretched and twisted, membrane tearing away to reveal monstrous forms that plummeted from the darkened sky.

The students stood frozen. Just moments ago, they had been trying to make sense of the mysterious night class. Now their school had become a nightmare realm. Lifeless bodies littered the courtyard while green-slimed creatures prowled among the dead, rending flesh from bone. Some students remained paralyzed, minds refusing to accept the horror before them, while others thought only of escape.

Vyre led the Mynheex in their ruthless hunt. They lunged at their prey with savage precision, tearing out hearts with ravenous greed and devouring them with insatiable hunger.

When Miracle arrived and witnessed the carnage, she leaped forward. "Air," she commanded, "protect them as your protect me."

A warm gust swept across the battlefield, carrying the scent of wil

A sharp pain tore through her damp chest, jolting her awake. Miracle's eyes darted around, panic creeping in. Cold metal bit into her wrists and ankles as chains bound her to the gnarled trunk of an oak tree. Each attempt to break free drained what little strength she had. Menacing red pulses coursed through the tree, suppressing her cultivation with every flicker. The air was thick with dampness, the dim surroundings pressing in on her. Wherever this place was, she knew one thing for certain—she should never have ended up here."Love has always been my best friend." The cold, hard voice came through before he walked into her view. "Because of love, I've never lost."His steps echoed, reverberating through the cave's clammy walls. She tensed, and then it all came rushing back—from discovering Nancy in the toilet to getting caught in their net and everything in between. When Arlyaen finally stood in front of her, icy shudders ran down her spine as her gaze f

"Finally..." Arlyaen muttered, squinting at the blinding light. "I thought you were never going to appear."She cast him a scornful glance. With a fierce leap, she unleashed a blazing beam of fire, searing through his abdomen and hurling him into the opposite wall.Arlyaen tsked, brushing his fingers over the burnt patch on his skin—agonizing in appearance, yet barely a threat to him. As if responding to a silent command, the scattered bricks and stones around him began to glow red, lifting off the ground one by one. In the next instant, they shot forward like missiles, charging at the ferocious beast before him.Miracle dodged, slapping them away with her spiked tail."I hate battles," Arlyaen confessed.Still locking his deadly gaze on her, he extended his hand to the other side and yanked one of the fighting Mynheex by its neck. Before the slimy creature could react, its vermilion breath of immortality was drawn out throu

"MELVIN!" Lyn roared and pounced on him.Expressionless, he flicked his hand in her direction. A crushing force slammed into her, ripping the air from her lungs as it flung her across the battlefield. She struck the ground hard, pain jolting through her body. Gnashing her teeth, she clawed at the dirt and forced herself to her feet—only to feel another surge of power hurtling toward her from behind. Her breath hitched. Too fast. Too strong. She squeezed her eyes shut, bracing for impact. But it never came.A chill ran through her as she turned around, her broken gaze locking onto Miracle, limp in the net. Her quivering lips fought to choke back the rising sobs, but the taste of betrayal, defeat, and loss burned at the back of her throat like acid. Her steps faltered, and she crumpled to the ground once more. Dust rushed into her nose as she gasped for air."Don't do this to her," Lyn pleaded between ragged breaths. "That's Miracle, Melv

The night was eerily darker than usual, casting an ominous gloom over the school grounds.Street lights were out, again. Moon rays struggled to break through the dense shroud of black clouds, its feeble glow barely piercing the gloom. What little light remained spilled over the enormous metal clock on the main building—its hands remained frozen in time.Flocks of bats swarmed overhead in erratic patterns, their high-pitched squeaks slicing through the night, intensifying the unease hanging in the air. Miracle stood at the entrance. Her heart pounded hard against her ribs as she fought to steady herself.Something was wrong—deeply, terribly wrong. The crowd kept growing, their murmurs blending into an unsettling hum. A night class at Stellaerio was unheard of, yet students continued to arrive, unaware of the danger lurking in the shadows."I don't see Ms. Reed," Lyn murmured, glancing at all possible corners she could find. "Or Mr. Vince

Layers of protection around the house were gone, and the silver fronds were nowhere to be found either. A strong tide of loss washed over her soul as Miracle walked in, her eyes reddening. His memory clung to every corner, stirring a deep pang of regret within her.The regret of failing to protect him."I wish you were here with us, Hayden. I wish you could see how we defeated the evils. I wish you could see how the world is right now. I wish..." She held back her tears. "I had protected you..."“I wish I had been there to save you, Mr. Watson, just like you did to me."Melvin moved in closer, his fingers gently intertwining with hers. She tightened her grip, her broken gaze, clouded with unshed tears, pouring out shades of guilt and sorrow she had for her half-mortal father."I miss him, Melvin."He patted her head and pulled her in
