Today is my best friend's sweet sixteen birthday. Michelle, Shawn and I, we're all born in the same year and our birthdays are one month apart from each other. Starting with me, than Shawn and then Michelle's. Her parents decided to throw her party at their restaurant called, " Johnstone Palace " It was the top restaurant in our territory.
Once you stepped inside you would understand the name. It was just like a beautiful Palace. Intricate cut stones of red and gold lined the walls with smokey black marble floors. The ceiling was covered in an array of rainbows from the beautiful diamond chandeliers that hung throughout the restaurant. Giving you this wonderful magical feeling. Each sitting area was made to make you feel like a king, queen, prince or princess. The tables were made of a fine red mahogany wood, etched with stunning gold roses ajured with silver crosses throughout the sides and legs. The chairs were of high backings made from the same fine red mahogany wood, with a beautiful inlay of crystals lining the tops of each chair in the shape of a half crescent moon. The silverware was of gold and red plating. The plates and bowls were of a black smokey color lined with either gold or red edges.
If you thought this place was only magnificent for it's look! Then you would be in heaven with the very first bite of food you ever tasted. The Johnstone Palace wasn't just for looks! The food was just as alluring as it smelled. My favorite dish and Michelle's was her mother's roasted garlic lemon chicken with rosemary potatoes and a wonderful ceasar salad topped with a drizzle of vinegar and sunflower kernels. Just the look of this meal on your plate would have your mouth watering and stomach growling with anticipation.
I was hoping that Michelle would pick this as her choice for her birthday dinner. I was brought out from my thoughts of devouring this amazing meal from Shawn opening the gold doors to the Palace. As soon as the smell hit my nose of that fantastic roasted chicken! I couldn't wait to be seated. Shawn never really conceded on Michelle's and I's infatuation about the chicken. He would always say it's good, but I've had better and we would always roll our eyes and ask him where!? To which Shawn never had an answer for. Which in end would cause a fit of laughter between us three.
As we made our way to go up to the second floor. Shawn's name was called by this high pitched nasally voice that always made him and I both cringe. Lo and behold a April Sterling stood up from her chair, followed by her two copilots Jessica Moore and Leslie Buckers. While we stood at the bottom of the stairs waiting for April, Jessica and Leslie to sauter over to us with the sexiest walk they could muster in front of Shawn. We had to bare the incessive giggles of Jessica. She would literally giggle about every little thing, no matter what it was! How anyone could stand talking to her for more than five minutes was beyond me.
As April neared she turned around to hush the two behind her. "Wow! Shawn! You look amazing in that shirt with those pants, I can't say so much for those shoes though..." Such a classic April move to say two nice comments and then add a rude one to the end!
I didn't see anything wrong with Shawn's attire. He really did look good with his sky blue dress shirt with his sleeves rolled up to his elbows showing his tribal tattoos scrolling up his forearms. His shirt brought out the blue more in his baby blue eyes. That he paired nicely with his light black trousers and accentuated with his black belt and dark brown dress shoes. His golden amber hair was even nicely done with little spikes on top and slicked down sides around to the back. Honestly Shawn could have passed for a model. But typical April had to make her remarks even if there wasn't any truth behind them. I really think she just likes hearing herself talk.
April has always thought she held more importance and power over everyone in our pack because her father is the beta to our Alpha. Once she had figured out titles and ranks amongst our pack when she was younger. She started using her father's title to her advantage. Still puzzles me to this day. How beta Derrick and his wife Lisa could be the nicest most respectable people and have such a crude daughter!
Who ever April's mate ended up being would have to be going deaf or have an amazing tolerance for high pitch screeching noises, because everytime she opened her mouth it was like hearing the repeating sounds of someone scrapping their nails across a chalk board!
After a few moments of not really listening to April and Shawn's chit chat about who knows whatever. I interject reminding Shawn of our plans for this evening. Unfortunately I'm brought back to April's horrible voice saying " Great we will see you both later then, bye Shawn and Sar-ahh..." I totally didn't miss the annoyance when she said my name that's for sure! I turn to proceed up the flight of stairs, while doing so, I ask Shawn about where "we" quote, unquote were supposed to be seeing April and her other halves at later? As we reach the top of the stairs. He finishes telling me what our plans are supposed to be after dinner with Michelle and her family.
We are supposed to meet up with April, Jessica and a few others from our pack up at the double waterfalls, near the edge of our border. It was the usual hangout spot for all the younger wolves in our pack. I turned to face him having to look up at him considering our height difference. Shawn towered over me at 6'6. I look him straight in the eyes and pipe off " Okay cool, but do you honestly keep forgetting what today is! Michelle's birthdayyyy! So she will have the final say in our fate!" He just laughs at my exaggerated tone.
Even though I already knew her answer was going to be a big fat yes! She loves to swim and the pool of water at the bottom of the double waterfalls was one of the best places for swimming. There was a hot spring under the water. That made it the perfect temperature to swim in, especially in this cooler weather that wasn't quite fall, but not winter yet either.
Ian stood there silently grasping my arm, quickly pulling me against his chest pressing me tighter into him. Even after I had told him all I wanted was just to be alone. " Please Ian, I need some room to breathe, I feel like I'm being crushed by the world around me, with everyone staring at me like that. I need to be alone right now, whether you agree with me or not." I begged him. We both stood there, quietly taking in each others warmth; before he reluctantly loosened his grip from around my torso, letting me push pass him and walk out the door. I was going to tell everyone about my dream?? or vision?? I wasn't sure as what to call it... But, as soon as Elder Lilia started telling me about how these vile creatures were going to keep coming after me, all because I was supposedly one of the chosen ones. I took that as my way out. To fake being upset so I could get away from everyone around me. There was no way I could stay and put everyone in my pack in danger because of me. I needed
Golden light flashed behind my eyes, soon fading away into a light blur of white, as the world around me spun. The feeling of strong hands pulling at something deep within, brought me crashing back into reality, releasing me from the dream state I was in. A few speckles of white light remained, slowing bouncing around my vision as everything surrounding me came into focus once more. My eyes were quickly drawn to the women sitting in front of me, chanting furiously, with her eyes softly closed. My hand shot out on it's own accord, lightly tapping her on her right shoulder. I jumped back into the couch cushion as, Elder Lilia's eyes shot open, apparently feeling the same jolt of electricity I had when my fingers made contact with her shoulder. She sprang forward, encompassing me in her arms, squeezing the air out of me as she " Thanked the Moon Goddess over and over for bringing me back," Alpha Brent's voice boomed over everyone elses across the room, as he quickly made his way to my
Hello everyone, this is S. Jones husband. I do apologize for the very late update, But, as of now my wife is in the hospital again. I watched around me as everyone tried to mask the horror, that spread across all of their faces. Even though, everything was given away within the depths of each of their eyes. I stood up quickly, pushing past Ian as I rushed to the bathroom. Flicking on the light, I caught the glimmer of iciness that coated my cheek, spreading up into my eye socket. There was no way of stopping my hand as it shot up, pressing hard over my mouth as I tired to stifle the scream that tore it's way up my throat and passed my lips. The girl, staring back at me in the mirror, looked broken beyond repair. Hair twisted in knots, as if it had been caught out in the wind all day. My once nice purple long sleeve shirt and jeans now torn and crumpled, like each piece of clothing had been raked against tree after tree, shredding the fibers. Still, the one thing that my left eye couldn't look away from, was the blistering frost bite that ran across the other side of my face, where my once cool artic blue
" Sarah, Sarah, won't you open those eyes of yours? I want to see those beautiful artic orbs, after all they will be mine soon," I hear this scratchy, unnerving voice ask me. Still, no matter how hard I seemed to try to open my eyes, I couldn't. They felt heavy and sticky, like they were glued shut. The sounds of many moving around me, bristled through my ears, making me flinch at the closeness, causing my heart rate to spike with every sound of movement made. I could have sworn each time that I flinched, I could hear some where in the distance the sound of whatever around me laugh, only making me struggle even more to try and open my eyes or move.....? But, I wasn't even sure if I was doing that.... I couldn't feel the rest of where my limbs should be, only my eyes felt heavy and that puzzled me even more to what was happening to me. Flashes of white light danced and bounced around the back of my eye lids, as I listened to the things moving around me. At
I watched as the soft pelt of rain drops splattered against my bedroom window. Leaving behind little squiggles of water, as they slid down the glass. I wasn't aloud to go any furthter then my desk, given what I had been through. I was still having a hardtime staying focus on even the smallest things. My brain felt heavy, like there was a neverending fog floating around inside my skull, leaving me with the feeling like I was never truly awake. The clock on my desk chimed and spun as the ballerina danced, letting me know my brothers would soon be home. I should feel happy that they were finally coming back. But, I couldn't shake this feeling that sat in the pit of my stomach, churning as time grew near. Shawn, had told everyone that he wouldn't discuss anything until they had arrived, letting all the unsaid words speak for themselves. Even the sharpest of knives couldn't cut through the tension in the air that surrounded each of us. A dark cloud was hovering over our h
