I watch as Lana brushed the tear threatening to leave her eyes away as she looked outside the car. I felt a knot tighten in my throat on remembering just how she was looking when I barged into the room.

I should’ve been there sooner. I should’ve tried to make sure that bastard couldn’t do this to her. She was gone for a while and I was beginning to worry, thinking she had probably lost the way back to the meeting hall only to pass by the room and hear her screaming.

My heart legit stopped beating for a minute as I barged into the room to see her halt in her steps, eyes wide with fear and worry. Her hair had been tousled and rough, shirt disheveled slightly.

“We’ve arrived sir.” The driver says, jolting me out of my thoughts. I glanced beside me to see Lana already getting ready to leave.

I paid the driver and got down from the car while Lana got down from the other side. She didn’t seem to want to talk to me and well, I understand why.

We walked into the lobby and I called out
