Chapter eleven

~Sophie’s pov~

Did Naomi just make a fool out of me? And he completely acted like he didn't know me at all.

Wait… was he for real? My last name doesn’t ring a bell? And I’ve been in this company for more than a month now and he still doesn’t know me or maybe even just remembers seeing my face around the company.

And the hell he could address Naomi by her first name but wants us to address her professionally.

I don’t really know what Naomi has done but I’m sure gonna give her a fight over this.

How the hell could I let myself be deceived by that bloody attention seeker.

“Hey Sophie! Why are you in a hurry? How was it? And Why did you guys not talk for long?”, I asked trying to understand why she was in a hurry because she didn’t spend more than five minutes there and that was definitely not enough to set the bomb.

“Thanks a lot for your help and I’ll be sure to repay it”, she said and left in a hurry without looking.

“It obviously did not go well and I’m sure it didn’t go the way I wanted”, I gave a long sigh knowing the boss was complicated and strong headed .

“And the boss wants you to come in to see him, Miss Steve”, she came back to tell me in a very mocking way and went back the same way.

What does this jerk wants from me now? My plan did not obviously go the way I wanted it too. I’m sure this jerk was rude to her.

“Good morning sir”, I greeted after I knocked lightly on his door.

“Who did you send to my office?”, he barked out as our eyes met. It’s not my first time seeing his eyes but they look different everytime we stare at each other for a while.

“Ohh, sir that was Sophie. She works at the sales and financial accounting”, I gave a detailed explanation to him so I could hear his excuse for sending her out.

“And what was she doing carrying out the task i assigned to you?”, he asked.

“Sir She wanted to help knowing that Daniel’s not around and I couldn’t stop her from lending a hand. She’s really a nice person and wanted to sincerely help”, I chipped in for her

“I shouldn’t be giving someone a chance with Damon when I’m suppose to be seducing him for the scandal”, I scoffed as I whispered to myself

“I don’t care who’s nice or not. I clearly wanted just you here”, he said not realizing how cool he sounded. But who am I kidding, always a jerk and would still be a jerk.

“Ok sir, it won’t happen again. But can she lend a hand when needed?”, I asked, wearing a pretty smile.

“Sure, you can do whatever you want. But if I want just you then you come and not anyone else”, he said and asked me to sit down so we could go over the documents that Sophie brought in for him.

‘‘Mr Damon kept a straight face all through and I was a little bit bothered, but then I remembered my mission and started thinking of ways to accomplish it…

‘‘Naomi…please don’t make me a fool, I like how I feel when I’m around you’’ Damon said quietly yet so loudly…

~at the S&F accounting department~

“Where were you? And why are you walking in with a long face?”, Nora asked worriedly immediately she sees Sophie walking in.

“Nothing’s wrong. But I clearly told you that Naomi was no good but you insisted that she was a nice person”, Sophie bursted out not being able to hold it in.

“What’s going on? Just calm down and explain what happened”, Nora advised as she came closer to Sophie to hear what she had to say, so none of their co-workers would eavesdrop on their discussion.

“She’s such a bloody attention seeker and she thinks she can snatch Damon from me with such useless tactics”, Sophie yelled out as she was so full of rage.

“Don’t yell Sophie, others would hear you”,Nora whispered.

“I don’t care about them hearing. I know the way she came into the company was so suspicious. Damon never liked or allowed having females working so close to him but she eventually got in so close and now he calls her Naomi and wants us to address her as Miss Steve”, Sophie said angrily.

“Ha ha ha”, Nora laughed trying so hard to hide it.

“Why are you laughing? It’s not funny”, Sophie said really pissed off

“Ok I’m sorry”.

“I know Naomi definitely has other intentions for getting so close when others even me couldn’t get to work as his secretary”, Sophie said thinking of a plan

“So what do you plan on doing”, Nora asked.

“Nothing much. But I know she’s after Damon too and that means it’s war between us”, Sophie said as she chuckled lightly and stared at Nora making her feel quite nervous…
