Chapter twelve

“Everything has got to go according to plan and make sure to keep your eyes on Naomi, she’s working for me”, mrs stone sputtered through the phone expressing her low confidence in Naomi

“Ok ma'am. I’ll keep an eye on things here”.

“I don’t fully trust that girl if anything happens or you suspect anything just let me know immediately, we will do away with her”, she said coldly

“Whatever you say boss I’ll keep my eyes on things here ma’am, just relax and trust me I’ve never failed you and I won’t start now”, the unknown person answered confidently through the phone

“I trust you, it’s just that girl I don’t trust. She didn’t want to do it at first then all of a sudden she’s very ok doing it and it makes me suspicious”, mrs stone explained.

“Ohh I also suspected that. I’ve been in the company for a very long while and the boss has never agreed to have female workers so close but she got so close so fast”

“I’m happy this plan is going the right way but I’m just being careful so I don't get played by that brat”,she muttered

“Don’t worry ma’am, we won’t be played. I’ll get closer to her now”

“Yes just do that. That’s the reason I put you there, to be my eyes and watch out for me”, she said happily at the conclusion they reached.

“I’ll keep you updated ma’am but I have to go now before my co-workers start coming in”

“Ok”. Line cuts….

“Hey Sophie good morning, what’s wrong with your eyes? You couldn’t get any sleep last night?”, Nora asked out of pure concern

“No and I’m not sure I’ll get any till I pay that bitch back”, she answered with a very tired voice.

“I think we have to forget about that today. The whole department is going to be working closely with the boss for this work and you’ll need to forget whatever thought or grudge you hold again naomi for now”, Nora advised

“Isn’t this too soon? Can I be left out, I still feel very embarrassed to meet him and I'll have to make Naomi feel that way too before I can face him again” she begged.

“There’s nothing you can do to run away Sophie. it’s the boss call and everyone in the department is going”,she muttered

“Ohh... So I’ll have to face him again” Sophie whispered to herself sluggishly

“Trust me you’ll be fine”, Nora said with a little laugh because she found the whole fight funny and childish.

“Is that why everyone came in so early? Even Harvey? He’s never this early to work”, Sophie asked pretty worried about how she’s going to face damon today.

“Yes. I guess you couldn’t check your mail yesterday because of all this”,Nora said looking at Sophie scornfully

“And to think he was the first person to sign in this morning, I didn’t know he was scared of the boss”, Nora said looking at Harvey who was sitted at the extreme end of the large office room.

“That doesn’t matter Nora , let’s focus on how I’m going to face the boss today”, she cried out frustrated and slightly devastated

“I’m sure he’s not gonna remember whatever happened yesterday and besides he couldn’t even recall seeing your face or even your name so why fret over this”, Nora said getting pretty annoyed

“Ouch. That’s mean”, Sophie said feeling hurt.

“I’m having a meeting with the sales and financial accounting department at the conference room now”, he said immediately he stepped out of his office.

“Okay sir. Do you need me to prepare any documents for you?”, I asked wondering why he was telling me about his meeting.

“Have you forgotten you are my acting personal assistant?”,he asked looking at me with questioning eyes

“Ohh yes sir, I clearly remember”, I answered

“Then you’ve prepared yourself for the meeting?”, he asked and I immediately understood what he meant.

“Ohh sir, I didn’t know I was to prepare for any meeting. I thought it was a close meeting with just you and the S&F accounting department ”, that was literally what I thought.

“It seems you still lack sense of direction, I thought you’ve gotten better”, he said

“You should have asked questions. Just come along and pay attention to every important detail, you are going to give me your suggestions after the meeting”,he said heading towards the elevator.

“Ok sir”.

“And why are you still standing there? You didn’t hear what I just said?”, he barked out

“Oh I’m sorry sir. Didn’t know it was this early”, I said rushing to meet him in the elevator as I immediately grabbed a pen and a book.

“If I may ask sir, why this early? The last I checked your schedule, your meeting is at 9am and it’s just 8:30am?”, i asked really confused, is it that he really has no friends and nothing to do?

“I always like being on time and anyone who comes after me will be fired”, he said after giving me a once over.

“Sir if no one is at the conference room now does it mean everyone in their department would be fired?”, I asked out of concern.

“Yes the full department would be fired”, he uttered with a straight face, not even an iota of pity in his voice as we exited the elevator heading to the conference room.

'What the fuck is wrong with this man, is he serious right now…' I was baffled 'I officially work for a psychopath'

“Don’t forget to take down important notes”, he said as we entered the conference room.

And the hell the room was filled with about 12people from the department. I didn’t know this jerk was feared. Everyone looked so calm and like they’ve been waiting for him for ages.
