Mila’s POV

I came down the stairs for Saturday morning breakfast, nervously playing with my fingers as I chewed on my bottom lip. My legs wobbled with every step I took.

All I could think about was what I’d done in my bed last night and, worse, what I’d done with Aaron in his car.

As soon as I walked into the dining area, Carol looked up at me with a warm smile. "Morning, sweetie! When we got back last night, Aaron told us you were already sleeping."

"Yeah,

  • Tempting The Twins   Why? What?

Mila’s POVI jerked hard, pulling away from Aaron so fast I almost tripped. My heart was pounding in my chest.I turned quickly toward the direction of the noise, straining my ears to listen, but the hallway above was dead silent and completely dark. Nobody was standing there."Mila—" Aaron started, reaching out a hand toward me."No," I whispered, backing away from him until the back of my knees hit the table. "No, Aaron, we can't... anyone could come down those stairs. Carol, my dad, Axel... anyone."I didn't wait for him to answer. I grabbed my purse and practically sprinted up the stairs as quickly and quietly as I could. I hurried down the dark hallway, slipped into my bedroom, and shut the door behind me, leaning my back against the wood while trying to catch my breath.I reached out blindly and flipped the light switch. The moment the light came on, my jaw dropped. My bedroom was a mess. The gifts I had f

  • Tempting The Twins   The boy in the dark.

Mila’s POVCarol walked over to the front door and pulled it open.Liam was standing on the porch, wearing a dark button-down shirt with the top few buttons undone. The moment his eyes landed on me, his jaw dropped. He stood there for a second, not uttering a word."Wow," he breathed out, shaking his head. "Mila... you look incredible.""Thank you," I said, feeling my cheeks heat up.He glanced over my shoulder, noticing Aaron standing behind me, and gave him a friendly wave. Aaron just stared back at him with an icy glare, keeping his hands firmly planted at his sides without giving so much as a nod.Liam didn't seem to notice the tension. Instead, his gaze shifted to Carol, a charming smile on his face. "And you must be Mila’s older sister. I was wondering where she got those good looks."Carol let out a delighted gasp, crossing her arms over her chest, her cheeks slowly turning red. "Oh, you sweet talker! You do know

  • Tempting The Twins   Date Night.

Mila’s POVGift he is about to give me? What did he mean by that?As if he heard my questions, he clarified, ““I’m yet to give you your gift. But listen here, you’d love it.”I smiled at him. “Oh, really?” I asked in a calm voice, even though my mind was spinning out of control. If Liam didn't put those gifts in my locker, then who did?My mind raced. Could it be Aaron? But he’d already given me the charm bracelet at breakfast, so that didn't make sense. Axel was the only other person, but the thought was almost laughable. He couldn't even bring himself to say a simple happy birthday to my face this morning. Why on earth would he go through the trouble of stuffing my locker with red roses, expensive skincare, and tickets to a movie I had only ever mentioned in passing in his presence?"Anyway," Liam said, cutting through my spiraling thoughts as he reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a sleek, printed voucher. "My actual gift is

  • Tempting The Twins   WORLD MILA’S DAY

Mila’s POVMy phone buzzed on my nightstand at seven in the morning. I reached out from under the covers, expecting a text from Paris or Princess, but my mom's name flashed on the screen. My heart skipped a beat. I answered and pulled the phone to my ear. "Hello?""Happy birthday, Mila," my mother’s voice came through the speaker."Thanks," I murmured, staring up at the ceiling. Seconds passed with no one saying a word, until I broke the silence, whispering almost inaudibly. "I was waiting for you to call.""Well, you didn't call me either," she snapped back instantly.A lump formed in my throat. "You're my mom," I said, my voice cracking slightly. "You sent me out of your home. You couldn’t even call to see if I arrived saf—"“First of all, I didn’t send you away. You were the one who couldn’t live with your stepfather…”“Not today, Mom!” I yelled. There was silence on the other end. “I spoke with your

  • Tempting The Twins   Lunch date

Mila’s POVI walked down the hallway toward my locker, feeling different. I had put effort into my attire that morning. I wore a red cropped tee with a short denim skirt and thigh-high boots. I even applied mascara and gloss. My hair was bouncing in loose waves around my face, and I even had on a silver chain belt. All of this I did for Carol.I was just reaching to punch in my locker combination when a shadow fell over me."Hello, Mila," a voice said. "The girl who stood me up."I turned to see Liam leaning against the locker next to mine, a lopsided grin on his face."Oh! Liam," I gasped, my heart dropping into my stomach. "I am so, so sorry about Friday. Something... really embarrassing happened, and I just had to rush home."His eyes widened in realization, his expression softening instantly. "Oh…""Yeah…" I answered in a small voice. A wave of guilt hit me so hard suddenly. I felt terrible lying to his face, but wha

My voice was barely above a whisper.I couldn't bring myself to look at Aaron, but out of the corner of my eye, I could see the slow, satisfied smirk plastered across his face.My dad took a sip of his coffee, looking across the table at me. "Hard to believe your birthday is in just a few days."Carol’s eyes instantly widened. "Wait, really? When?""October 24th," Dad
