CHAPTER SIX

“Yh just like you said on the night I lost my second baby” Hillary struck a memory Marshal had tried so had to let go.

“ beep” The call was disconnected.

It took a whole lot of strength before Marshal could bring himself to normal.

He related with Datto on several unsolved crime cases , trying to distract his thoughts from being haunted by the past.

Jerome was in awe the moment Teyana was dolled up for her date.

“ Perfect , as pretty as always,” Jerome commented.

Still appreciating her beauty, the sound of cars stopping right in front of her house could be heard.

“ I think it’s him,” Jerome declared immediately he peeped through the window blinds.

“I can’t believe I’m doing this shit J” Teyana cried.

“ you better believe it cause 1, 2 and…3, here comes your knight in shining armor”.

The door bell rang at the end of Jerome’s crazy talk.

He composed himself before proceeding to get the door. Teyana trailer behind him.

“ A chauffeur,” Teyana asked, irritated.

“ and where is he” she questioned further,

“ Waiting in the car ma'am, if you do not mind allow me to take you………” the chauffeur gets a hold while speaking.

She cuts in, not letting him finish his sentence “ I really do mind sir, please go tell your boss if he wants this date, he should get down from the car and come get me himself before I lose my cool”

Teyana felt annoyed, only Jerome understood why.

Jerome moved close to her, almost as if they were glued, he whispered some words to her ear.

“ clam down Tey, were talking about Central Cee remember”

Teyana shrugged like a child causing Jerome to laugh sinisterly.

The chauffeur had probably relayed the message Teyana had asked him to to his boss. After some hesitation, Cee got down from the car , he let his ego away before heading towards where Teyana stood.

“Can we please leave now?” Cee mocked.

Teyana of course wouldn’t jump on his request that fast, her silence made the whole place tense for some time before she agreed to go with him.

“Take care of her Central Cee, it’s a warning, not a request” Jerome pondered.

“ Now that’s more like my manager” Teyana thought, trying her best not to laugh.

“ Hmmm,” cee replied.

He assisted her to the car, it was after she got in before he entered the car as well then they zoomed off. His security team was sure not to lose to them.

The ride was silent, Teyana and Cee at some point would often steal glances at each other.

Cee noticed how tense Teyana was, she rubbed her hands against each other. Her palms were sweaty and red.

He attempted to pull her closer to him to calm her nerves, Teyana wouldn’t budge, he thought she was stubborn, what he didn’t know was she didn’t want to be weak in his eyes and be seen as other girls to him.

“Am good , I didn’t ask for your sweet gesture” Teyana whimpered.

Cee smiled from ear to ear , placing the top of his hands on his chin like a super model about to take some shots.

“ So I do have sweet gestures uh….. alright” he teased her.

If only he knew how she wished he could just shut up , his presence was scaring the hell out of her . She prayed they would arrive at their destination already.

The aura went back to its awkward state.

At some point the car hauled , the driver placed a call on Cee letting him know they had arrived at the Goring restaurant.

It is the most expensive restaurant in London, some gifts say theirs with flowers but Goring restaurant says it’s own with champagne.

Cee had booked the whole place till God knows when they might be done there.

There was this chill quietness the area gave, there were candle lights lighted everywhere with lots of red roses.

Chefs and waiters lined up behind the buffet putting on smiling faces , their arms were crossed behind their backs.

A pianist played Perfect by Ed Sheeran coupled with some guitar players and flute players , it was beautiful and lovable .

If not for composure and the rumors about Cee she had heard a lot about , Teyana would have freaked out.

He assisted her to their table , pulled out a chair for her to sit before doing the same for himself.

“If I didn’t know you, I would have thought this whole arrangement was a proposal” Teyana relayed.

“ You don’t know me well enough Teyena Taylor” Cee replied.

Teyana raised an eyebrow at what he said, she didn’t want to press further.

Cee signaled a waiter to come serve them. Just as they were doing so, he got into a serious conversation with Teyana.

“ You know you’re too pretty to be just any body woman”

Teyana on the other hand was trying her possible best to be as soft as she could be as a lady until she heard Cee's words, she paused on digging into her food.

“And whose woman should I be, you?” She nodded her head sideways before proceeding with her food.

“I think I want to have something with you” Cee said , not so sure why he said it either.

“ Hmmm…. You say that to every lady you cross by or that crosses you by” she smiled.

“And am too expensive to impress and keep to be your W-O-M-A-N” she stressed.

“I have money and fame,” Cee said, dropping his cutlery.

“ They’re not enough. I have my own cool cash , my dad is freaking rich, do you think you're worth having me” her points were clear and straight.

“But I impressed you tonight,” Cee said, trying to win a compliment.

“Is that so…..we’ll I’m not impressed at all, I just played along” Teyana hissed.

“ what” Cee was shocked by her response.

This was the first time any girl he knew wouldn’t be impressed by such efforts made on their first date.

“ yo you gotta be kidding me right now aren’t you” he questioned hoping she would say she was joking.

“ Am not at all. listen lover boy, my dad and I always go on a date, I’ve had lots of this scenario. You want to impress me, then shock me, am not your regular girl”
