They called him Breed but it was a sign of respect, not disrespect. The name his mama gave him when he was born was Jericho Moon and he was the leader of The Tennessee Breeds MC. They were a group of misfits who had come together to form a family of sorts. They lived on the top of Tarron’s Ridge for a reason.
Tarron’s Ridge was in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, somewhat near the town of Chattooga, Tennessee. Tarron’s Ridge also overlooked the Tennessee River and the place where Jericho grew up. He’d grown up as part of a small tribe of Cherokee living in the mountains and while his mother was a full blooded Cherokee, Jericho wasn’t. But he was so much more than just his father’s bastard son. People looked up to him as the President of the MC, not out of fear but out of respect. He protected his people and everyone else that lived on Tarron’s Ridge.
Breed was a big man, he stood six foot four in his stocking feet. His boots gave him another inch or so and he was close to three hundred pounds of pure muscle. His long black hair was caught in a ponytail, hanging halfway down his back, and his bright green eyes, the only thing he got from his father, were squinting in the full daylight’s sun rays.
Today, he and some of the others in the MC were out looking for an intruder to their home. They had noticed signs of someone unfamiliar on the Ridge and Breed knew where there were signs, there was usually trouble. His men and family were tight knit and their lives were hard enough without someone else making trouble for them. Whoever the intruder was, they were making themselves a pest and leaving potential problems for those who lived here.
He'd been traveling close to the river, looking for signs of anything that shouldn’t be there when something caught his eyes. A small dingy sitting in the river shallows. It bumped and swayed with the current of the water. Breed stopped his motorcycle and walked over to where it was. Looking down into the ravine where the boat sat in the underscrub, he could see that it seemed to be intact.
Looking down into the dingy, he saw a woman. She was tall and slim with short blonde hair. The tips of her hair were dyed lime green and Breed just shook his head. What really bothered him though... she was covered in bruises and didn’t seem to be conscious at the moment. Her skin looked sunburnt. Her lips were dry and cracked, as if she hadn’t had any water for some time.
Not that he blamed her, the water she'd been caught in was nasty, and green with scum it didn’t look drinkable. But he saw nothing in the dingy with her, so she hadn’t prepared very well for her adventure or rather misadventure, he concluded.
Breed knew he couldn’t leave her here, so he gathered her up in his arms and carried her back up to the road. He called his VP and told him he had a passenger but he would need a truck to haul her back home. While he waited, he studied her again.
Her skin, although bruised, seemed to be clear and smooth. She was a beautiful woman and it appeared she had money but if that was true why was she floating the river in a small dingy? Her clothes were jeans and a tank top. The material was good quality, certainly better than anything he’d ever owned. She wasn’t wearing shoes of any kind which he found odd and her wrists were rubbed raw, almost as if a rope had been around them at one time.
Breed couldn’t help but wonder why she was in the dingy in the first place, and why was she so bruised up. Where had she come from? Why was she here?
When Greer, his VP pulled up in an older truck he stopped and a cloud of dust flew around the vehicle. Greer opened the door and got out. He frowned when he saw what Breed was holding in his arms. “What the fuck?” he asked. “What you got there, boss?”
Breed looked at his VP and drawled, “It’s called a woman, Greer.”
Greer shook his head. “Ha-freakin-ha, funny joke there, boss. I know what a woman is, you prick. Where did you find her? And why is she all beat to hell?”
“No freakin’ clue,” Breed grumbled. “I found her in a dingy, caught in the underbrush.”
Greer checked her over again as he noted her sunburnt skin and her dry lips. “Wonder how long she’s been there?”
“Sorta why I called you,” Breed told him. “We need to get her back to the compound for Cowboy to look at. Then after she answers some questions, we’ll all know more about her, won’t we?”
Greer rolled his eyes. “Just get in the truck while I load your bike,” he muttered.
Breed shook his head and walked over to the truck. He got into the vehicle with her still in his arms. While he settled her in the seat on his lap, he watched as Greer loaded his ride. On the way back to the compound, he studied her face again.
The bruises looked to be a couple of days old already and were starting to fade. He couldn’t wait to see what color her eyes were and ask her about what happened to her. He saw dried blood inside the collar of her tank top and he moved the material to one side to check it out.
What he saw there had him sucking in a breath and it turned his quizzical feelings into rage.
Twila turned to Babe and brushed a strand of hair away from her face. “When I found you on the highway that day, you were the answer to a prayer. I took you in and loved you as one of my own but I knew you didn’t belong to me. At least, not only to me. I can’t blame you for trying to find out.” “I love you both…” Babe paused to look over at Bear. “I’ve been happy all these years and I don’t want to leave here but I need to know my own name.”Twila raised her head and met Breed’s gaze. “Can you honor her request? Can you help her find out who she really is and what happened the day her parents died?”Breed paused and studied her for a moment. “It won’t be easy and I make no promises. We can ask Brian but I’m not sure he would even remember eighteen days ago, let alone eighteen years ago. He might even hide the truth despite being insane. The Ancestors really messed with his mind.” He looked over at Brick and nodded at Blade. “Make sure to cuff him but bring him along.”Brick nodded an
Breed turned to his man and told him calmly, “Brick, put the gun away before it goes off.”Brick’s lips tightened as he held his piece a little tighter. For a moment, he looked like wanted to argue with his prez but he followed Breed’s orders. He slid his gun back into the waistband of his jeans.“Now someone better tell me what the fuck in going on here.” Breed growled.Babe stepped away from Blade. She swiftly swiped the tears from her face with both hands. “This was all my idea,” she began to explain. “It was my fault. I needed to know something and I came here to ask him something. He didn’t know I was coming and he never asked me to set him free.”Breed frowned as he studied her. “What did you come to ask him?”Babe wiped her face again and stood a little straighter. “You may or may not know my story, the way I came to be with the tribe but eighteen years ago, Twila found me along the road in Alabama. I was lost then and I’m still sort of lost today. She gave me the name Babe as
Rain undressed quickly and crawled into bed with him. She laid her hand over his mouth when he started then quickly pressed her lips over his. She looked into his startled eyes and without saying a word, she pushed the sheet down to his knees and straddled his waist. She felt his finger bite into her hips as he began moving her into position.“It’s about fucking time,” Cowboy whispered in a hoarse voice.Rain paused at this but she did agree. She gasped as she felt his hard cock growing beneath her and she groaned as she began rubbing it. Soon her juices were coating it and they both were groaning as they let go of their inhibitions and let nature take over.Cowboy inched his way inside her and she opened herself for his invasion. He groaned long and lo
Babe continued with her horrible story, “I couldn’t leave them like that. I needed to get help. So I climbed up the bank and started walking. I don’t know how long I walked but each step took me farther away from the accident and when the sun went down, I couldn’t walk anymore. I went around behind some trees. I laid down and fell asleep. When I woke up the next day, I couldn’t remember why I was there. I started walking again. It was around sundown that day when a car stopped along the highway, and a woman got out. She asked me if I was okay. I didn’t know her but she ended up taking me home with her. Her name was Twila and she brought me here to Tarron’s Ridge. She became my second mother. I lost my way after the accident. In fact, I didn’t remember it for two years. We went back to that place two years later and we found my parents still where they died. I couldn’t even tell the police what thei
Blade shook his head. “I don’t know if it was my dad or Brian but it couldn’t have been me.” He paused. “I can’t be sure, but you said 18 years ago. I can’t believe I was killing when I was a teen?” He looked saddened. “But according to everyone here, I was a killer, through and through.”Babe hung her head. “You were young too. It must have been your father. I remembered his name for some reason and Brian’s when Cowboy was telling us about the past.”He could see tears dripping off her face. When she lifted her head after a few minutes, he could see heartbreak in her eyes.“I was so hoping you could help me find out the truth.”Blade snorted softly. “In case you haven’t noticed, sweetheart I’m the bad guy here. And I don’t remember much about anything.”Babe reached out and touched his hand.Blade felt a shiver run through him at her touch. When he saw her eyes widen he knew she’d felt it too. His heart began to pound in his chest at her touch and he stared at her.Babe wet her lips
Blade watched under half closed eye lids as Rain and the woman she called Babe left the room. Then he turned his head slightly to see Greer watching him carefully.Greer had moved over to lean against the wall at the foot of his bed. “I know you can see me, asshole.” Greer growled. “You aren’t fooling anyone here.”Blade opened his eyes and stared at him. “I know you don’t believe me but I really don’t remember the man you were talking about before.” He hesitated then asked, “Did I really do all that shit?”“Yeah, you did.” Greer crossed his arms over his chest. “You committed just about every sin in the book and you probably made some new ones up along the way. Your dad taught you well.”“I think you’re right about that but I can’t remember him or anyone here. Hell, I don’t even remember me.” Blade shook his head. “Tell me something, do I have a given name or just Blade?”“Your given name is Blade Marken. Your dad was Jerad Marken AKA Repo. I never knew your mom but his club was the

Greer sat in the chair beside the bed for a long time watching Shyla sleep. He couldn’t for the life of him understand what was going on but as soon as he saw her, he knew she was his. His heart actually stopped beating for a span of time.
