Three

JAKE’S mind was still a bit numbed at the rawness of his feelings right now. It was overwhelming.

It had been five years, but it was as if he was going through the shock of the morning he woke up to find she was gone.

He tried to veer away from those thoughts and, of course, his attention went straight to her physical attributes, because who the hell could ignore that?

She was as tall and graceful.

Fuller hips.

Sexier butt.

Those legs, oh god…

He groaned inside as the memory of her legs wrapped around him came suddenly unbidden. Like a heart attack.

Her eyes were intense dark green, exotic, her lips full and soft... made for sin.

Her skin was still as sun-kissed, as flawless, and as full of life.

Her soft curls tousled by the wind outside the airport reminded him of how she looked just waking up in bed, her limbs tangled with his.

How warm and soft her naked body felt flushed against his naked body.

How he wanted to just kiss her and sink himself into her and never, ever stop…

Kind of yeah… he strategically had to place the stroller in front of him to hide that he had a massive boner.

See, right now… as he watched the seductive sway of her hips, he had to wince.

Poetry in motion. The shape of her ass was art itself.

It was getting painful down there now. He really had to place his eyes somewhere else.

She recognized him but she said nothing.

But what was she supposed to say, dammit? He had bulldozered her out of the blue, and he suddenly worried if he had placed himself in trouble now. That she might be hating him now.

This was bad.

His eyes fell on Thera, and his heart thudded painfully inside his chest.

He used her to get here and meet the only woman who had ever caused his blood to rush through his veins like a raging river.

He started feeling that Thera liked him just recently, and it was after he found out Clara was her friend.

Well, he thought he could give it a chance if he happened to be wrong and Clara wasn’t who he thought she was.

Thera was decent and smart, and she really rocked. He liked her character.

If he still wasn’t hanged up about the girl in Mykonos,  he would totally go for her.

And he told himself, if he happened to be wrong, he had to let go of that bad and move on with his life. He hadn’t gotten a good lay in a very long time.

He had needed to fall in love and Thera was a good choice.

But he wasn’t wrong about her friend Carla.

And now, he was feeling guilty, thinking he could have planned a different way to meet her again.

But he had been so impatient that he wasn’t thinking straight.

And he was afraid it wasn’t entirely Thera’s fault if she was led to believe he was interested in her.

He had to clear that up.

His eyes were on the hypnotic sway of Carla’s hips, Jake thought of ways how to make this situation right all the way to the car.

He tried. There were moments there when even with his eyes open, he could see his glistening dick as he pulled himself out of her before thrusting again, and again, and again, as he took her from behind.

Christ. Save me.

His cock hurt like a crying bitch.

And it was going to be a long, cursed day of this.

HOW to fit four suitcases in a small Opel’s trunk was a tricky issue that helped occupy Carla’s shocked mind.

But it became moot right away because he got close enough to her as he helped her with them that she could feel the heat that emanated from him.

All this while they continued to act as if they had never met before for Thera’s benefit.

They managed to stick the two bigger ones together in the trunk and the two smaller ones in the back seat along with Jake. Thera sat on the front seat beside Carla and they drove home, taking the narrow by-the-shore road as much as she could manage.

It was going to be the longest one-hour-and-a-half drive to Pieria, the province where she and Thera both hailed.

Jake sat directly behind Carla, and every time she looked in the rearview mirror, her eyes would meet his.

Why were those eyes focused on her? They were, each and every time, watching whenever she used the rearview mirror.

Did he know she was looking at him behind her black glasses?

Probably.

Was he remembering?

She gulped, trying to forget to focus on driving. She took a deep, steady breath.

Easy.

“Oh… my country… I’ve missed you so much! Look, Jake! Look at all this beauty! Smell the sea, feel the breeze caressing your skin. Australia is wonderful but… there’s no place like home!” Thera was saying on her side of the seat, clueless about what was going on with the other two occupants of the little car.

And the view was indeed fresh and fascinating.

On the right side of the road, green was the dominant color that relaxed the eyes. Hills full of grown trees and wild bushes succeeded fields with crops, while a house or a farm would pop out occasionally.

On the left side laid the sea, calm now as the day was generally windless, with the surface of the blue water sparkling like diamonds from the rejuvenating sun’s rays.

The beaches already accommodated some swimmers who were there for the early dives. It was very hot now, but Carla didn't turn the air-conditioning on because Thera and Jake wanted open windows.

Again, Jake’s and her eyes met in the rearview mirror. He smiled, and she almost jumped.

“It’s really beautiful,” Jake agreed and finally took his eyes off Carla towards the window, to the view.

But not for long. In a moment, his eyes returned to the mirror.

“Have you been to Greece before, Jake?” she finally asked, managing not to make her voice sound accusatory.

Jake seemed to jump, and it was his eyes that turned accusingly at her when he replied. “Yes, a few years back, but not here. I was on an island called… Mykonos.”

“You’ve been to Mykonos?” Thera asked, surprised.

“Uh… yes. So short a trip that I barely… remember it.” He managed to make that sound like it was her fault.

“On vacation or business?” Her voice sounded ironic, but before he could answer, Thera did.

“Oh, but honey, Jake’s work is mainly through the net. Why would he travel all the way to Mykonos to work? It was obviously a vacation trip!”

Oh, I see. Thera had no idea about Jake’s past job description.

She was relieved.

Now, how about not mentioning Mykonos at all in case Thera remembered about that naughty thing they did that summer?

Her lips thinned as again, she looked at the rearview mirror, and at him, accusingly.

You bloody scoundrel. Why are you here? The position you’ve put me in…

“Actually, it was a little of both. I had to meet an important client there,” answered Jake, his eyes meeting her glare with a provocative look, his lips slightly twitching.

“Oh, really? Locals?” she asked.

“A local,” he corrected. “I have to say, my transactions with her were… extremely satisfactory.”

This man got a hell of a nerve, baiting her the way he was doing, and right there where he sat with Thera inside the same car. She took her eyes away from the mirror.

“Really? So she was pretty?” Carla asked.

“So much so,” he replied. Lowering his thick eyelashes, his smile naughty.

And Thera, instead of getting jealous, shook her head and rolled her eyes. She must be quite secure about their relationship that it didn’t even bother her.

And that cut her like a knife.

He was talking about her.

And right there where her friend was, who happened to be so in love with him.

She never looked his way again and was able to maintain a conversation with Thera about what changed and whatnot on the way to Peiria.

They had to leave the seashore to travel faster and passed some commercially thriving spots that weren’t that populated ten years ago.

They had a short stop to eat and had restroom breaks along the way then took out milkshakes because it was still so hot.

And she truly enjoyed the drive.

Jake stopped baiting her or she just stopped using the rearview, she didn’t know. The general talk with her vibrant friend distracted her.

They arrived at the house one and a half hours later.

The car entered two wide, open iron gates and drove through the paved driveway that led to the closed garage on the left of the main building.

And she was thinking… he’s here. They’re here. This is all fucked up.

And there was nothing she could do about it.
