That Girl In Glasses
That Girl In Glasses
Author: C.J

Prologue.

Eighteen years earlier.

"I don't want to separate them Tom, " Mary cried with red puffy eyes.

"We have to." Came the cold reply. He never really loved this woman. The marriage was planned and he absolutely detested planned marriages.

His parents just wanted their company to be partners and this was the only condition necessary.

"Okay," She replied while placing a kiss on the little bundle in her arms and handing it over.

She knew better than to argue with him on such a matter although she couldn't stand the undescribable pain in her heart at having to separate her twins.

"Where are you going to keep her?" She asked as her milky chocolate brown eyes scanned his tired face.

She truly was a beautiful woman. Her brown eyes shone up at him pleading for an answer. Her silky soft brown skin seemed to glow under the light.

She was no doubt very beautiful but he made a mistake and now he had to fix this because he definitely wasn't ready to raise a family and 'settle down' as his parents always say.

"She'll be safe." He said not really answering her question.

"I asked—"

"She'll be safe okay?!" He raised his voice making her look away.

She didn't get it. He was doing this for both of them. Why couldn't she just get that into her head?

He wasn't surprised though. She was the rich child of Mr. Nyomvi. What else was expected?.

Mr. Nyomvi. That name still made him recoil in disgust. A rich and powerful man by all means. He knew he was nearing his end so why not shove his daughter at him?.

"She'll live with one of our employee in a house of her own." He made eye contact with her and she looked away.

She didn't like the idea of separating her children like this. She didn't know how but she knew they would find each other or maybe not.

She didn't know what to believe anymore. She had always had a fear for the unknown and Mr. Eduardo's son was no different.

She shivered as she remembered that night that changed her life for the worse but there is nothing she regrets after seeing the result. A pair of unusual twins.

A male and female but the male had his father's olive skin and the female had her milky chocolate skin but that didn't change a thing about the love she had for this children.

She had vowed to love and shield them away from the evils of the world. She would never wish what happened to her for another,  not even her enemies and that was something.

Too many bad had happened to her in her short life.

Having children at the age of eighteen was never her dream but then again, who was she to talk about dreams? A nobody. That's who.

She stared up at the man she was literally sold to. Her father couldn't stand her being happy so he partnered up with a weak company in exchange for a 'union' between the two companies and they ate that lie up.

"I promise you nothing will happen to her." Came his calm voice.

"That's okay," she looked at him from beneath her lashes."I just hope you can keep that promise."

I already hate this man. I feel like not going on with the reading but I can't just do it. The author is brilliant at invoking strong emotions.
