Those words kept ringing constantly in Valen's brain after hearing that, but before he could say anything, Rhydian rested his nose against his neck and exhaled.

Valen shivered, closing his eyes as the feeling got so surreal for him to handle. Rhydian's breath was cool against his hot body.

"You're going through heat," Rhydian mentioned.

It was quite surprising for him. That would only mean that Valen was going to be a dominated male, as men don't go through heat the way a woman would have, except if he is meant to be dominated.

The thought of someone else dominating Valen didn't sit right with him for another reason.

Valen had no mate, that he was sure of. If he had one, he wouldn't have been allowed to come to this side of the world.

Moreover, Valen was his servant. Valen was his. He had every right to touch him and explore him.

This thought made Rhydian's inner wolf rejoice. He kissed the back of his ear while still holding steadily to his waist.

Jethrom was pushed violently down to his knees, causing his body to scratch the ground, and he winced, scrunching his nose and shutting his eyes from the pain. His injured face had almost hit the ground. Valen's eyes skipped a beat as he watched the inhumane sight in front of him. On the other hand, Rhydian was relaxed. His eyes were even shut. What he was thinking was unknown, but if the King of the Lycanis was as calm as this on any day, it only meant one thing: Trouble.Jethrom was pulled back up to sit on his knees while his hands were roughly tied behind his back. His eyes seemed to be searching for one person as he turned his head around, faster than lightning. Then he found him. The one person who could save him — Valen. His lips shook as tears flowed down his cheeks. "Va-Valen, please...save me. Save me, Valen... please. I don't..." Iza slapped him across his head from behind. "Keep your fucking mouth shut! You are in the presence of the Lycanis King you damn

"Alpha! Alpha," A guard rushed into the pack house with fear while trying his best not to slip. The ongoing laughter between the Alpha and his guests stopped abruptly as their attention soon turned to the guard. Jethrom's forehead creased as he looked at the guard with displeasure. "Why are you shooting? Why did you have to interrupt my meeting?"The guard fell on his knees, sweating, his breath coming out in hysterical gasps. "My Lord..."He stretched his hand towards the door and tried to catch his breath, "Your life is in danger. The Lycanis are here. We have sensed them coming."The men who were seated with Alpha Jethrom sprang to their feet. So did Jethrom. He gently put down his drink as anxiety covered his body, causing goosebumps to overwhelm him."Are you sure about that? I hope this isn't a joke."The guard crawled to him and hugged his knees as he cried out, "I will never dare to play such a cruel joke on the Alpha. One of our men saw them while taking the security

"My Lor...Rhydian, I am a werewolf." Valen started. "How is that a problem?" Rhydian inquired, confusion boldly written on his face. "That means that whatever you want to have between us might not work." Deeply, Valen was grateful that the King wasn't forcing himself on him. At least, that saved his head from being cut. Other than that, if he had to build on this. It would jeopardize his plans. "You're a Lycanis. I am a werewolf. We already have history together. The past can not just be thrown aside..." "You don't have to worry about the past getting in the way, Valen. If you're in on it, then whatever anyone else says doesn't matter."Valen sighed, his heart troubled, "I...I will think about it."Rhydian was going to press further but he decided against it. It was better that he gave him a chance to think about it. He understood the weight that Valen must be bearing — giving it all to him, a Lycanis was just too much. He had a family awaiting him. It sure

Valen paced his room, unable to sleep. Maybe it was worry. Maybe it was something else. He looked at the time. It was almost midnight. The whole palace was silent too. Maybe he could just take a walk instead. So, he stepped out and walked down the hallway. Maybe his wish to the king should be, "My Lord, I would like you to fill me in on what is happening." Valen shook his head, that was lame. He exhaled and turned the corner to Rhydian’s room while coming back. He stared at the door for a few seconds. Would he be asleep now? Probably not. He then walked to the room, knocked on it once before opening it. "I'm just here to check up on him." He reassured himself and entered. Oh, he was asleep.Valen stepped in quietly and closed the door. He walked closer to Rhydian and stared at him intently. Rhydian lay on the bed, still. His chest was bare, and the blanket was half draped over him. His lips were parted, and a stubborn frown sat between his brows even in sleep.Valen did

"You don’t understand!" one man slammed his fist against the stone table, his voice quaking with anger as his eyes darted across the room, landing fiercely on each Alpha present in the meeting. "My son, he was only thirteen! They took him, dragged him into the dark like he was nothing! It's my son, not theirs! Why should we have to sit still and do nothing?" Another man, older and tears streaming down his beard, hit his palm on his chest. "My two daughters. They’re gone. I warned them never to walk past the eastern field, but they were taken in broad daylight despite not breaking any rules, and it's not far-fetched that this is the doings of the Lycanis, and nothing else." Draegon sat at the head of the table, silent and still. "Say something, Draegon! Your silence is costing us our sane mindset." a third man growled. "You’re one of us, or you used to be. We fought together. Your son was also taken, right? That's the only son you have. Or maybe it was cause we don't kn

Aldridge followed Valen to meet the King in his room while bearing the pain. Lucan was going to come along but stayed behind in Aldridge's room, he commanded it and had no reason to be there. At least not for now. Rhydian was awake and was already sitting on the bed in deep thought. His eyes were calm, but it was almost as if no thoughts were behind them. "My Lord," Aldridge bowed. Rhydian tilted his head so his eyes could meet with Valen's. "Leave," He ordered. Valen was taken aback first by the coldness in his tone, but he didn't waste any time. He exited the room.Aldridge raised his brows in suspicion. Was the madness still in his consciousness? He had not fully recovered and would not have liked to hit the second time and that would mean death. "My Lord, is everything alright?" "What happened?" Rhydian waved his hand. "You went berserk..." "I know that. I am asking you what actually happened." "You used the noctra root, my Lord," Aldridge replied.
