Vincent's hand clenches to fist as he watches the CCTV footage of how the old man stole the bag that contained one point five billion of narcotics inside of a hotel room that was supposed to be delivered to his client; Mr. Stevenson, the night before the old man decided to steal it.
"How does this fucking old man get away from the five of you huh?!" Vincent abruptly shouted to his five stout men assigned to guard the hotel room until the transaction is over that day.
The five men are now bowing their heads—sweating hard, and uncontrollably swallowing their saliva.
When no one dared to answer Vincent he lifted his swivel chair and threw it to them.
"Do I pay you for stupidity huh?!"
The other associates didn't budge. They are used to his anger. The five men are still lucky because their boss wasn't holding a gun. After all, if he had one on his hand, the five of them would probably soak in their blood on the floor right now.
"I'll spare your lives but solve this fucking problem that all of you made because of stupidity. Understand?!" Vincent said as he calm himself by brushing the side of his hair using his finger.
"Yes, Boss," they answered in chorus with trembling voice.
Vincent looked at the consigliere that is standing on his side. "Vladimir, find this old man's place and other information about him. I want a result within an hour."
"Copy that, Boss." Vladimir in his black suit bowed to Vincent and excused himself outside of the office.
As soon as Vladimir closed the door behind him Vincent gestured his associates to leave his office which they all understood.
Vincent was left alone in his office and let out a deep sigh. "Damn."
He doesn't have any idea of who was the old man but whoever he is Vincent was sure that he would make the old man pay.
No one messed up with the mafia and gets away with it.
Like Vincent expected Vladimir, came back to his office for half an hour with a result on his hands.
"He is Fernando Oakmont. A sixty-five-year-old divorced man who used to be a popular tycoon that suffered from bankruptcy because of his gambling addiction," Vladimir explains as he handed the printed pictures to Vincent. "He has a daughter—Celestine Oakmont who is also popular and known as the highest-paid model in the country. He lives in Aurora Hinterland which is five hours of drive from here."
Vincent leaned against the glass wall of his office as he scanned the pictures on his hands by throwing the pictures he had seen on the floor.
Vladimir gave him pictures of Fernando's mansion, car collections, businesses, and his daughter who caught Vincent's attention.
"Ready the van. I need three associates to come with me, but you." Vincent pointed his finger at Vladimir. "Stay here and wait for my next order."
He can't trust the five idiots again so this time, he wants to be the one to do the work. He loosened his tie and walked outside of his office to quickly change his clothes.
Vladimir immediately goes to the mansion's parking lot.
"Vlad, I heard that Boss has a problem with the transaction because of the noobs," Sebastian greeted Vladimir as he lights up his cigarette.
Sebastian automatically offered Vladimir a cigarette that he accepted. "Yeah, you heard it right. But not just that, they also hid what happened for two weeks."
"What the fuck. Are they dead now?" Sebastian asked.
Vladimir shook his head. "They're lucky bastards."
Nicholas puffed his cigarette. "How much does the package cost?"
Carter throws a lighter at Vladimir then he lights up his cigarette. "One point five billion."
"Woah, that's big. This is a huge problem," Carter blurted.
They saw their boss approaching so they throw their cigarettes and stepped on them before hopping in the van.
"Get home alive, motherfuckers," Vladimir said as he tapped the shoulder of his friends before he closed the van door.
"Is everything ready?" Vincent asked Vladimir as he fix his wristwatch—putting it properly on his wrist.
Vladimir nodded his head. "Yes."
"Good."
As soon as Vincent get in the van everyone went silent. Vincent's presence was enough to give tremors on their legs.
They knew how merciless their boss is. They've lost count of how many people he had killed just because he loses his patience.
"This morning will be bloody," Sebastian whispered to himself.
It's been two hours since they left his mansion and Vincent was losing his patience. The idea that the old man's mansion is far pissed him off—big time.
"Move this fucking van faster!" Vincent shouted to Reynold, his driver that made everyone else in the van gasped.
"Y-Yes, Sir," Reynold said despite his loud beating heart then he stepped on the gas pedal.
Vincent taps his finger on his wristwatch. He should hold himself together and wait. The bag that the old man had stolen is important. He needs to get it as soon as possible.
Vincent had five successful transactions with Mr. Stevenson before, the reason why his client trust him. This transaction was supposed to be a success only if he doesn't go out of the country for a business trip.
Mr. Stevenson is his biggest client that's why he can't lose him.
"S-Sir, we're here," Reynold announced.
Vincent stopped thinking the same time the van stopped moving.
He comes out of the van as well as his men.
"I don't know man, but Boss looks in a good mood today," Carter whispered while they're walking behind Vincent.
"Yeah, he didn't kill the noobs. That must've meant something," Nicholas agreed to him.
"Can both of you just shut the fuck up? We'll be screwed if Boss hears the both of you," Sebastian scolded them.
Nicholas and Carter just walked silently after that.
"Where's Fernando Oakmont?" Vincent asked the security guard while pointing a gun on its head.
"Sir, we can talk about this without you pointing a gun at me," the security guard said while both of his hands are behind his nape.
Vincent clenches his jaw tight, losing his patience.
"I said, where is Fernando Oakmont."
"He's not here, Sir," the security guard calmly said then he slowly reach for his gun. When Sebastian saw it he pulls his gun inside of his pocket, same with Carter and Nicholas.
"Oh. He's not here?" Vincent sarcastically said.
"Yes, Sir because—"
Sebastian, Carter, and Nicholas were left dumbstruck when their boss shot the security guard its head. The pavement were painted red as the security guard's face becomes pale. Just a few seconds after that his body dropped to the floor, lifeless.
"Fuck, I think he's not in a good mood now," Carter said in a low tone of voice.
All of them walked past the mansion's gate silently.
"Find the old man and bring all of the maids here. If they're not cooperative, kill them." Vincent calmly said to three of them as soon as they reached the mansion's garden.
"Yes, Boss," the three of them said then they immediately run in different directions to find the old man.
The maids were afraid when a man with a gun in his hands enter the kitchen. All of the maids were asked to sit on the floor and bow their heads.
"Sir, please don't kill us," the old maid begged when Sebastian asked them to go to the garden where Vincent is waiting.
"Follow what I say and all of you will be safe." He walked behind the maids to make sure that no one will escape.
On the other side, Sebastian could see Nicholas behind the other maids as well.
When the maids reached the garden, Sebastian and Nicholas went inside again to continue the search for Fernando.
"Where is Fernando Oakmont?" Vincent calmly asked the maids.
Vincent's question wasn't made for one person but all of them. But out of fear, none of them responded.
Vincent sighed and pointed his gun at the maid in front of him. "Someone will answer my question or I will make all of you rest in complete silence. Choose."
"S-Sir," the maid who is at gunpoint spoke.
"Yes? Need to say something?"
"S-Sir Fernando is not here. H-He's gone for two weeks now. S-Sir, even his daughter is worried of him."
Vincent closes his eyes, trying to calm himself down.
"Boss, the old man is not here," Sebastian said while catching his breath.
"Where is him?" Vincent asked the maid.
The maid sobbed. "W-We don't know, Sir."
"How the fuck you don't know?!" Vincent shouted then he fired his gun two times in the air making the maids cry even more.
"Where is his daughter?!" Vincent asked the maid in front of him again.
"I'm here."
Everyone turned their gaze on the woman who spoke. She tried to stay calm because she knew that when she panicked, everyone else probably does the same and she doesn't want any more trouble to happen.
"I am Celestine Oakmont. The daughter of Fernando Oakmont," she said, introducing herself as she walked towards Vincent's direction.
Vincent's face darkened. "Where is your father?"
"I don't know. He's not going home for two weeks now."
"And you think I will believe you?"
Celestine shook her head. "No, I don't."
"Oh damn, what that woman is trying to do is a suicide," Nicholas said that both Sebastian and Carter agreed.
Celestine took a deep breath. "What do you want from my father?"
"I want your father dead."
Her hands suddenly went cold and it become sweaty.
He's intimidating and she's starting to get scared of him but there's no way that she will let him know that. She needs to be brave.
"Who are you?" Celestine asked with a trembling voice.
"I am Vincent Mogilevich, the mafia boss your father messed up with."
Celestine gulped and her heartbeat started to race.
Vincent slowly pointed a gun at her head. "One last question. Where is your father?"
Celestine clenches her hand to stop herself from crying. "I don't know where he is."
"One last—"
"Just take me, I'll go with you," Celestine said with her eyes closed.
She needs to hide from her father. This is the only way she knows how to protect him from this man. Not just him, but this is also for their maids who have families to come home to.
Vincent was about to pull the trigger when they heard a police siren.
"Oh fuck, Boss, let's go out of here." Carter blurted.
Celestine thought that the siren had saved her but when she was about to run with the maids, someone grabbed her right arm.
"Nuh-uh, not so fast, Miss Celestine Oakmont," Vincent said then he carried Celestine out of the mansion.
Everything happened so fast that the only thing Celestine remembered was she was thrown inside of the van with two men on either side of her.
She's unable to speak after they put a cloth on her mouth that they tied at the back of her head. And she can't even move properly because the two men tied her hands on her back.
The ride seemed fast for Celestine because she's afraid. She doesn't know if she'll be able to survive once the van stop. She doesn't know what will happen to her after this.
"Get her out," Vincent ordered Sebastian to get Celestine out of the van as soon as they reached his mansion.
Sebastian carried Celestine who is now struggling to get rid of the cloth tied on her wrists.
He removed Celestine's blindfold and forced her to stand still in front of Vincent.
She gave Vincent a death glare as soon as the blindfold was removed from her eyes.
"You know what? You're beautiful... But you're stupid," Vincent said to Celestine.
She shed a tear but it didn't stop her from swaying her right leg to kick Vincent's crotch.
"Oh fuck!" Vincent groaned in pain, hands on his crotch.
"I am not afraid of you bastard," Celestine said with certainty in her voice then she spits on Vincent's shoes despite the coldness in her hands and trembling legs.
She's afraid of him. But there's no way she will give him the benefit of threatening her.
"Enjoy your stay, Miss Oakmont." Celestine groaned after someone forcefully pushed her inside of a dark room making her sat on the cold floor. Tears welled in her eyes when she heard how the man locked the door, not leaving a space for light to shine through the room. She hugged herself as her shoulders quivered. She can't see anything, she feels like she has gone blind. She can't even hear the slightest noise outside. It's as if the darkroom tarnished her ability to think and feel. Celestine clenched the hem of her shirt when the wind whistled giving her goosebumps. She closed her eyes and had accepted that this might be the last day of her life. "I love you, Dad," she whispered to herself. Vincent massages his temple with his eyes closed. There's so much on his plate right now but on top of all that was Fernando. He heard a knock on his door. "It's open." Niccolo entered his office. "Boss,
"Ouch." Celestine felt a pinching itch to different parts of her body and it's driving her crazy. She's been slapping her body for God knows how many hours and until now she's still doing it. Every bite of mosquitoes is giving her goosebumps and it's making her feel uncomfortable. "I don't want here anymore," she said to herself as she threw her head back to stop her tears from rolling down her cheeks but no matter how much she tried to stop herself from crying, her mouth quivered and she started sobbing. "Daddy..." It is gut-wrenching. She never did imagine that one day she'll be caged inside of a darkroom like she's on a death row waiting for her turn. She's a model, she is supposed to be living her best life right now but she's here—staring blankly at the darkroom with nothing but her clothes on and her desperation to come out of here. She misses her father. She hopes that whenever he is right now, he's fine. Celestine no longer fee
When Celestine felt the touch of cold water on her face she felt relieved. Being kept inside of a dark, dirty cell felt like she's been inside of it for years and she had forgotten the feeling of cold water. She looked in the mirror and could barely recognize herself—her cheeks and lips that used to be pinkish were now pale and dry. Her eyes that used to be the most beautiful part of herself are now looked gloomy and tired. Her gaze went to her bruised wrists and caressed them. She felt the urge to cry when she also noticed the red dots all over her body due to the mosquitoes that did nothing but bite her every night. She looked at herself in front of the mirror. "No." She shook her head. "I know you can. You have to be brave. I know you can," she whispered to herself. She was startled when someone kicked the comfort room door. "Make it fast, woman!" Celestine wiped her wet face using the hem of her shirt that she has been wear
While sitting inside the van, Celestine felt the pain in her handcuffed wrists. She did not bother struggling to get out her hand from the handcuff because it would only bruise her wrists even more. She was unable to move because Alice forcefully tied her ankles using a cable tie a while ago. Celestine thought that Alice would blindfold her but she was thankful because the woman didn't do it. "What did Boss say?" Alice asked the man in the front seat as she lights up her cigarette. "All of us will meet at the hotel," the man replied to Alice. Alice looked at Celestine. She knew her because almost every famous magazine had Celestine's face as a magazine cover. But as she stared at Celestine she could no longer recognize her. She was far from the beautiful Celestine that Alice knew. ‘Vincent seems to be doing a great job to make this woman suffer.’ Alice said in her mind. Alice blew smoke on Celestine's face to annoy her. And it
Celestine slowly opened her eyes. It was strange for her to feel softness against her back after waking up that is far from the hard and cold floor of the cell that became her bed for a couple of days. She stretched her body and buried her face on the soft pillow. She missed the feeling of comfortableness that was taken away from her since Vincent took her with him. She wrapped the soft blanket around her aching body and closed her eyes again. She wants to give time to what she's feeling right now because anytime it will be taken away from her. As she closed her eyes her mind wandered and thought of Vincent. She can't deny that she got affected by the way he acted earlier. She can't get her mind off the way he caressed her aching wrists. He does that with an evident fastidiousness and she can't seem to forget the way it felt. "No, this is not right, Celestine. You shouldn't feel that towards him. He's a murderer or worse a drug addict!" she scolded he
"Celestine! Open the goddamn door! Celestine!"A loud shout and a series of knocks woke up Celestine who was sound asleep in the bathtub. What brought her back to her trance was the familiar voice shouting outside the bathroom. She immediately sat up and hugged herself. She wanted to curse herself when she couldn't find a towel that she could cover to her body to open the door for Vincent."You'll open this or I will open this fucking door for yourself?!""N-No! Uhm, just wait for me outside! I'm taking a bath!" Celestine shouted as she couldn't figure out what she should do. She swallowed hard when she heard nothing from Vincent after that. Celestine didn't know what Vincent was doing and he went suddenly silent but she's praying that he wouldn't have thought of barging inside of the bathroom because the last thing she wanted to happen right now is for Vincent to see her naked body.Celestine's eyes widened when the bathroom door suddenly opened and in h
When Celestine finally sat in the passenger seat, she inhaled Vincent's familiar scent inside. It was evidence that Vincent was indeed the owner of the car because his perfume engulfed every corner of it. Celestine did not try to speak because she knew that she would only look like a fool if she talk to Vincent. After all, the man would not talk to her. Instead of attempting to talk to Vincent she just stared at the glimmering light on the road. The cars didn't move fast so she felt more uncomfortable being with Vincent in the same place as the two of them we're not talking but she couldn't do anything, she has no right to complain because her freedom is in Vincent's hands and it is in his decision when to let her go. But she doubt if he would do that. "Don't embarrass me later," Vincent said that broke the silence that enveloped them earlier. "What do you mean?" she confusedly asked but he didn't answer her and became silent
For almost an hour Celestine did nothing but cry. Her eyesight was dimming and she was having a hard time opening it because it's swollen. She wants to hurt herself for being stupid because she must admit that she expected Vincent to treat her better now. After all, he saved her from Alice but she was wrong. She was a fool to believe that evil can change, she learned her lessons and it will never happen again. She had to remind herself that Vincent was her enemy, as well as his men and not her ally.Vladimir looked in the rearview mirror of the car so he could see Celestine in the backseat. The woman's eyes are red and so was her nose. She's peering outside the car window and still a bit shocked at what happened because she doesn't seem to be in her senses. He starts the car engine."Where will we go?" Celestine asked weakly but Vladimir acted like he doesn't hear a thing and did not answer her question.Vincent stopped smoking wh
