The Abomination

PART ONE A thousand years ago... The cold wind blew harshly over the arena. Two men were bare-chested, slowly going around the other, patiently waiting for one of them to strike. They were in a magical ring created by one of the well-respected masters in the realm. It was inescapable and so perfect for the sparring match. It would immediately disappear once there was a winner. Around the fighters were the onlookers, most of whom were the nobles and their servants. However, the most respected was the supreme lord, who was seated on the highest part of the arena to gain a better view of the fight. It was a match he couldn't miss because one of the fighters was his son. Prince Luther. The fighters suddenly leaped on each other. A few days passed since Glovia talked with Prince Stev. Since then, she had been over the moon and couldn't wait for her break time. She and her Prince may not have talked as much as they did the first time she spoke with him, but she made sure to check up on him whenever she came to the garden. Prince Stev always awarded her a charming grin that never ceased to make her heart flutter. She was currently scrubbing the floors of Prince Luther's room. Unknown to her, the man had taken note of her expressions since she came to work for him that morning. He didn't feel comfortable that she was smiling about something that wasn't related to him. The more he thought of it, the more he wanted to push her to find out what made her happy. She had been working with him for a long time, and all she had expressed at his presence was fear. Glovia ran straight for the training ground. When she arrived, Prince Stev wasn't there, so she waited for him in the garden. She couldn't concentrate. She was pacing around, worry etched on her tear-streaked face. She quickly wiped the tears that had managed to escape again and placed her hands on her waist. What would she tell Stev? She couldn't even face herself. Just as fear started to creep in on her, she heard footsteps. Hurriedly, she rushed out of the garden, suddenly bumping into Princ Stev, who apparently came her way. "Hey," he greeted, a shy smile on his face. "I thought I heard someone." Slowly, his smile vanished when he saw Glovia's face. "What happened?" he asked, gently taking her face in his hands. Glovia thought she could deal with it. She thought she could be strong. But the worried and angry look Stev had on his face caused her to break down, and she found herself leaning on him, crying out her heart. Prince Stev slowly embraced her and

Glovia had gone back to Prince Luther's room late the previous night. She was relieved to see that he still hadn't returned. She went to the sleeping spot allocated for her and went straight to bed with a smile on her face. She would finally be leaving the castle. The morning came with its rays of hope. Glovia woke up very early and was surprised to see that Prince Luther still hadn't returned. He wouldn't stay the night on some occasions, but she would always find him in the morning, lying on his bed, fast asleep or reading a scroll. She wondered what had changed. Perhaps something important had come up, or it had to do with their last altercation. She sneered inwardly. That would be almost impossible. For the prince to feel guilt over how he treated her was something that could only happen in a dream. Prince Luther flew to his father's throne room. He landed at the entrance, where two guards stood with their war spears. They quickly paid their respect once they saw him, and made way for him to enter.The throne room was bathed in gold. The ceiling rose to form a dome, with different paintings on it. A blue carpet the colour of the sea ran in the middle of the room starting from the entrance to the throne seat. There was a higher section in the room that was made to look like a balcony, only that people viewed the throne room from that area. Guards stood there with their war spears, along with some elites who looked down at him as he walked down the room.By the steps leading to the throne seat stood two statues flanked by its sides. They were the gigantic sculptures of two women of the Enu realm, with their wings spread out and high up in the air as they each held a flaming torch.
