"Go ahead then. Dress up first, then return. Let me take a good look at you before you leave."Happily, Gianna bowed her head and then walked out of the bathroom, heading straight to the small chest that Luther gave her, which held all the gifts he had bought for her. She brought out a light green gown, which matched the colour of the forest, and quickly put it on, making sure that her wings had carefully passed through the slit at the back. When she was done, she took out a small mirror and looked at herself. Smiling, she gave herself a curt nod and then returned to the bathroom. She found Luther resting his head atop the tiled floor, with the rest of his body still immersed inside the water."My Lord," she called out. "I have returned."Luther slowly opened his eyes, and then turned to look at her. He stared at her intensely, causing colour to rise to her cheeks. "My Lord, do I look okay?" Of course, she looked okay, Luther thought. She looked too okay. His possessive nature had o
Gianna returned to prince Luther's chambers. The discussion she overhead had left her with more questions, and they had dampened her mood toward exploring the realm. If what those women discussed were true, then she would have to do something about it. It wasn't that she didn't admire Lord Luther– which she did, extremely– but that she didn't see herself in any other form of relationship with him except Master and servant. She had just lost her husband not too long ago, and thinking about any other man would almost feel like she was cheating on him.She stood in front of Lord Luther's chambers. Taking a deep breath, she pushed open the doors and walked inside. She found lord Luther laying on his bed elegantly, his head resting atop his raised arm as he slowly went through scrolls. He looked up at her as she entered, sat up, and then folded the scroll he was reading."You returned early."She bowed to him in greeting. "Thank you so much again. I had a nice time."Luther nodded his he
Gianna placed her hands over her tummy, gently caressing it. If she was pregnant, then she had a very big problem. Lord Luther must never find out. She didn't know what he would do to her if he found out that she carried a child for a man he doesn't know about. But then again, she thought, it's not as if she could hide the pregnancy forever. A time would come, and she would have no choice but to tell him the truth. She sighed, getting up from the floor. She would have to start preparing for that situation then. But as of now, she couldn't tell him anything. Gianna walked back to the chamber and went straight to her bed. She laid down on it, deep in thoughts. It was times like this that made her wish she had a female friend. She had a few she could call friends back when Micheal was still alive, but when her husband's business began to go down in ruins, so many of them didn't want to associate with her. She was exceptionally sad about that, but then, there was nothing she could do.Sh
Gianna resumed work the next day. She had mapped out how the decorations were to be carried out and had instructed the maids on what they should do. Luther had permitted her to walk around the castle to gain a better view of what should be done. She had woken up early that day in anticipation of the job. Not only would she be able to plan for a ball, but she would also be able to walk around the halls of the castle. Gianna had worn a purple dress that had sequin embroidered on it, and had tied her hair up into a simple hairdo. Luther took one look at her and smiled proudly, causing her to blush. Together they went to his office and immediately started their work.A few hours after mapping out the plan, Gianna went out with the maids to study the castle outline. They walked straight to the ballroom, and Gianna paused in the centre, studying the wide scape of it."My lady, what do you think?" A maid asked, coming from behind her. Gianna turned to look at her and noticed that she was t
The following weeks went by in a flash. As the day drew nearer and nearer to the time of the ball, Gianna grew more nervous. Fortunately for her, she had Ana to help her through it all.Ana was the perfect friend she had hoped for. Although they only met whenever she had to work, She still thought it better than having no friend at all. They were done with arranging the ballroom and had already prepared the dishes that would be served that day. She grew more comfortable relating with those who were meant to help her, and she looked forward to always meeting them."What are you going to wear?" Ana asked. They were both in the kitchen overseeing the cooks preparing what was needed for that day. Though the cooking wouldn't begin immediately, it was good to make sure that everything was intact before that day came. "I am not sure yet." She said, watching as a male servant carried a sack of flour into the kitchen. "When that time comes, I guess.""How can you not have a dress prepared? Di
Ever since the day Luther noticed how close Gianna was getting to that maid, he instantly became suspicious of her. He secretly placed a piece of his magic on the maid to study her when she was not with Gianna, and it turned out he was right. The girl was planning something devious, and another person was in tandem to her plan. He supposed he shouldn’t have been surprised by how vile she talked about Gianna, but that didn’t mean he was just going to sit down and ignore it. Her attitude would cost her head, and he would gladly take it away from her.For the other family, he already had an idea who it was. He never paid attention to any of their antics to get him to pay attention to them, so they took it further and focused on Gianna. He could only wonder just what it was they wished to do with her, but that wouldn’t matter in the end. After the ball, he would be stripping them of their elite title. @@@@@The elite servant who had just finished talking with Ana finally arrived at the fr
It was the day of the ball. Luther was rounding up his work for the day so that he could get prepared when a knock sounded on his study doors."Come in," he commanded, closing a scroll. The door opened, and three men entered inside, bowing their heads in respect as the door closed right behind them."My Lord, we have returned with news." The leader said. They were the men Luther had sent earlier to find out about Gianna's past. "What took you so long?" He asked. "You were supposed to have returned ages ago.""My Lord, we were caught up with something during the investigation, which took most of our time."Luther sighed. "Leave a written report on my desk. Then you can go back.""Thank you, my Lord." The leader walked forward and placed a scroll atop Luther's desk. "We would take our leave now."When they left, Luther studied the scroll in silence. He inwardly contemplated checking its contents then, or checking it after the ball just in case it contained things that were sure to annoy
Luther nodded and waved his hand. Mr. Handal then turned towards Gianna and flashed a charming grin."Good day, my lady," he bowed. "Rumours have it that you are the one who prepared all this. I have to say so for myself, that you are incredibly talented.""Thank you, my Lord." Gianna curtsied. "Forgive my boldness, but may I ask who you are?"Gianna glanced at Luther, and when she saw he made no reaction, she answered."I am Gianna, personal servant to the supreme lord.""Oh," Mr. Handal said, looking intrigued. "That's good then."He turned to face his Majesty. "My Lord, if you are willing, I have a son that is ripe for marriage. I would love it if you can allow them to meet. Who knows if perhaps, something comes out of it."Gianna's eyes widened and she quickly looked towards Luther, nervously twiddling her fingers. The man wants her to get married to his son? Why would he? She was sure most of the elite saw her as the king's slut. Why does he suddenly have an interest in her?Whil
