The work hours were finally over. Gwendolyn left her office and headed straight for her house. She planned on dressing up, then leaving her house again, going straight to her boyfriend’s house.

It’s been a year since she and Charles started dating. Everything had been going well since the beginning of their relationship, that was, till recent times. He had been acting strange, had become secretive, and rarely had enough time for her.

Maybe she was just overthinking, she thought. She finally arrived at her house and walked to the entrance, opening the door with the key she always carried around. She entered inside, not surprised to see everywhere dark. Her mother wasn’t usually around by this time of the day.
