Adoptive Parents

"Are you really okay?" I worriedly asked Soldier as we continued our search. He smiled, giving me a reassurance. I just felt bad for him. He doesn't deserve to be hurt.

"Aliens aren't vulnerable, Princess. You don't have to worry about me."

I avoided my gaze. Even so, aliens have feelings too. They get hurt, I know that.

While we continued strolling around, I heard someone crying from a distance away from us. It sounded like a kid crying. I tried to look for the kid and listened carefully so I could track where the voice is coming from.

"That sound, it's annoying. Can I look for it and kill it with my sword?" The Soldier draw out his sword.

"What the-? Hey, don't you dare do that!" I stopped him.

"No buts, Soldier!" I cut him off and he put back his sword. I continued on following the crying sound and when I finally get closer to where it is, I got more determined to find the kid. I felt relief when I finally found her inside an abandoned building. I walked towards her and sh
