Imani’s pov

“ what the fuck, mani? You gave up the offer!?” I had just gotten home when I got attacked with questions from my beta.

“ It’s for the best. They had nothing to offer, they can’t help us.” I shrugged, that is all she should know.

“ Come on Imani, we’ve been waiting for this offer for months. You assured us they would be a way—“

“ I still do!” I blurted as she rolled her eyes, “ there is a way, we haven’t just figured it yet.”

“ Figured? We waited three months to get a reply from them. Do you think we should wait another? The pack is still mourning, we are still at lost. We all kept our hope on the full moon pack so what do you have us do now?”

I rolled my eyes at this, it’s not like I didn’t know about them. “ We will figure it out, just like always—“

“ The fuck Imani? Do you think this is a freaking game ?”

I banged the chair angrily, “ You should watch your tongue when talking to me. I could have your head off and fed to those fucking rogues out there. Do you think this is a joke to me? This is my pack and I choose who runs her! I choose who helps her. The full moon pack have no manner of help to render. There is no way I will render my pack to some fucking mate who thinks so highly of himself. We will figure it out ourselves.” My wolf was struggling to get out at this point, She wants blood.

I couldn’t sit still and I began pacing round the office. I could feel her gaze on me but I don’t mind. My mind was too occupied.

The room was quiet, too quiet as we both thought in silent.

“ The Alpha is your mate?” I heard Greta speak after a while but I was silent. I didn’t want to talk to her.

“ Is the Alpha of the full moon pack your mate?” She asked but still I was quiet. “ Imani, is he your mate?”

I sighed, “ I just found out earlier, but I can’t be with him. He is just too….. too full of himself! He wants my pack, not as an ally but as his possession. I can’t let that happen.”

“ Then what did you do? You punched him?”

If only I had punched him, “ I didn’t, I rejected him.”

“ what the fuck Imani, you rejected your mate?” Greta yelled so hard that I could feel my ear ring. If this building wasn’t a solid foundation, it would have gone done by now.

“I didn’t feel anything for him.” I shrugged, that is all she should know.

“ Bullshit mani!” Greta screamed at me….. damn she talks too much.

“ Bullshit! That’s not how it works. You must have felt it, the mate bond, like you were splitting your soul in two. And for what? Because you didn’t like him?” I could tell she was trying to contain her anger.

I darted my gaze to her. She was furious I could tell . We were sitting inside my office.

“ Greta, calm down! You don’t know nothing About bond. And I didn’t even feel anything when I ended whatever the moon goddess placed on us. I am not going to bargain my life over a selfish grumpy alpha who claims to be my mate…” I could barely finish my speech when she shut me up.

“ silence Imani! You speak as though you are a child! you do not reject a mate because of his character or inability. And for the fact that you needed something from him, you should have been humbled! What kind of a alpha are you?” I could feel the anger in her voice and she wasn’t holding back. Her eyes flashed with rage, she was pissed.

“ Do you know what he was? A mummy’s boy. He couldn’t even stand by his word. Why would he want to claim me because I wanted help? He looked down on me. What’s wrong with a female being an alpha?” My wolf was at the verge of ripping out. I could feel her, she was still aggregated from before.

Greta became calm. She had a thinking face on, her brows were crunched and she had her hands on her hips. This got me thinking too, if I did the right thing by rejecting him.

“ ok ok.. so what do we do now? We have no ally. How do we fight them off?” She asked calm.

“ we could find a way. There is always a way regardless of everything.” I was determined, “ we would find a way, another ally, or.. or… just fight them off ourselves.”

“ come to light Imani, no one is going to help us. You know the eclipse pack is as good as extinct without them—“

“ then what do you want me to do? I can’t agree to him! He’s just too…too—-“

“ selfish? Damn be real here.” She flew her hands in the air like she was mad. “ you should know you are the one acting selfish.”

Was I acting selfish? Am I selfish? I just didn’t want to mate with a guy as uncertain as him.

“ You are putting yourself before the pack. It is wrong! Your people need you, they need your help.” Great feels uncertain about her words. She could barely breath down.

I sighed..

This was not what I wanted, I didn’t know it was going to turn out that way. “ I just don’t want to mate with a guy who thinks so highly of himself. He feels he is above and that is what gets me. I felt so happy when I saw him but I grew so angry and when we spoke, he didn’t even regard me as a mate. He looked down on me and even insulted me.“

I looked straight at her eyes to feel her emotions, I wanted to see how she feels about it. If she was going to be pissed or whatever, but I was shocked when she rushed to me and engulfed me in a tight hug.

“ It’s ok Imani, I understand everything and I hate him already.” I giggled at her last word. “ He’s not fit for you so to hell with him, the moon goddess and everyone who thinks bad about you.”

“ Indeed.”

I pressed more into her comforting hugs, I needed it.

“ so what you need now, is a run, let’s go get blood bitch!”
