Amelia's Escape

Melissa watched as Alexander and his mother entered Gerald's room and locked the door. She quietly ran into Alexander's room and found Amelia asleep—or rather unconscious—from the slap she had received from Alexander. Blood dripped from the corner of her mouth.

"Amelia, wake up," Melissa whispered, gently tapping her cheek. "Amelia!" she called out again.

Amelia groaned in pain, her vision blurry. She saw a figure standing in front of her, and as soon as she realized it was Melissa, she tried to scream, but Melissa covered her mouth, signaling her to stay quiet.

"I'm here to help you get out of here," Melissa said.

"What?! Are you crazy? Do you want to die?" Amelia asked in disbelief as Melissa untied the belt that restrained her. As her arms were freed, Amelia felt a strong sense of relief, almost sighing aloud from the pain in her shoulders. "I can't feel my hands," she sobbed.

"Hold on, I'll be back. We're going out through the back. I need to clear the way and make sure no guards
