Held Hostage

The moment Alexander woke up, he found himself locked in a room, alongside his mother. Both of them felt weak and helpless. Alexander groaned in pain from the kick Aleah had landed on his face, which had knocked him out.

“Where is this place?” Alexander asked Grace weakly.

“I have no idea, son. But I think Maxmillian and Aleah brought us here,” Grace replied.

She got up and tried to move, but realized there were heavy chains on her legs. “Alex?” Grace called out for help. But when Alexander stood up, he found himself chained as well.

“What is this? How dare she chain us like dogs!” Alexander exclaimed, struggling to free himself.

“What’s happening to you? Why are you so weak all of a sudden, Alex?” Grace asked.

“I have no idea,” Alexander replied. He looked around the empty room. There were no windows, no other doors, and nothing else. The room had only a red bulb that shone dimly. Alexander continued struggling against the chains, but it was no use.
