Blue's POV
“Alpha, what's going on?” Kylie asked me, looking really bothered. Him, alongside every wolf in the wolf kingdom had always expected a marriage of power. One between me, and another powerful Alpha, and our packs would be merged, but here I am, making a decision based off my goddess given mate, and a non chalant man that I want to suffer. “Just watch Kylie.” I smirked. “It's a game, or don't you trust me?” “I trust you, Alpha.” Kylie sighed. “Now, if he doesn't walk back in here in five minutes, find him and kill him, and I'll have the meeting.” I ordered and he bowed. I was going through his school profile and it was pretty good. He's way brilliant than the genius misogynistic father I had. He's special in fact. I checked my wrist watch, and he had just about a minute left. I was tapping the table with my right index finger, counting down to the last second when the door sprung open. A smirk appeared on my face as he walked in. He came back and sat in his previous position. He had gone out nervous and shaky, but he was very stable now. I can't imagine that he'd have just processed everything I said so quickly, and accepted his fate. “So, what do you say?” I asked, and he looked straight into my eyes. “Why exactly do you want me?” Maverick asked. His voice was soothing. “Is it to get a position? Is to spite someone?” “To spite someone, and to make him come back begging.” I responded, and he sighed. “You're an Alpha, and by the things you've told me, you're a kind of war hero that got her position by blood, sweat and intelligence.” Maverick said. “You're not expected to marry anyone of lowly status, not to talk of a human.” “Let me handle that problem.” I smiled. He does think pretty well. “I'm guessing that there'd be several attacks on my life, yeah?” “You'll have enough protection, and we just have to keep public appearances for six months.” I said. “And you'll just let me walk away after the six months?” Maverick asked. “With all your secrets?” “Definitely not.” I said truthfully. “You'll kill me?” “Nope.” I said. “There's a process that gets everything about the wolf world out of your mind. It'll basically be like you never knew anything.” I lied to him. Maverick went silent, like he was weighing the choices he really doesn't have. “So, what is it?” I asked. “Rather, what will it be?” “A contract Marriage for six months in exchange for riches, or you die for being stubborn?” I asked. “Do I even have a choice?” Maverick shook his head with a silent hiss. “I'm in.” “Good boy.” I smiled. “I'll get it in writing and send it over for you to sign. In the meantime, I have a meeting. When I'm done, I'll find you.” Maverick didn't argue. Rather, he stood up, gave quick nods and he left the restaurant gently. To think that I would have almost lashed out at Kylie for setting up a meet with a distributor in such a cheap place, to actually meeting my mate. “Now, let's meet the guy?” I asked, standing up. *** The meeting didn't take too long. I easily just threatened a cartel wolf pack's distributor from selling in my territory again. He was very compliant because the red in my eyes was not the usual red. Ashley once told me it was scarier than every other scary red she had seen. “Where to now, Alpha?” Kylie asked. “The boy's room.” I said. “You have the contract, right?” “Yes, Alpha.” Kylie said, and I walked back into the car. I told Jeff, the driver where we were headed to exactly, and he drove us there. We walked the rest of the hall to his room. I had to stop at several places to take pictures with people, and just when I had weaved through the growing crowd, I knocked on his door, and he opened immediately. I closed the door behind and it was just the two of us. I had expected his room to be dirty, or scattered at the very least, but it was clean, and that was encouraging. “Hi.” He greeted, looking at me. He was wearing a very baggy black trouser and an ash singlet. His hands were in his pocket, making his slim body look absolutely sexy. “Maverick.” I said, walking towards him. “You can't look at me like you're scared of me in public.” “Who says I am?” Maverick asked and I chuckled. “Your facial expression might not, but everything about your stench right now does. The way your heart is beating right now does.” I said. “How would you hide that from a lot of scary wolves that would be trying to test how scared you can get?” Maybe those questions were making me see how bad of an idea this whole thing had become. “I'll get over it. I'm just trying to get my head together.” Maverick said. To close up the space between us, I used my speed to get close to him, and he barely flinched, but his heart rate went up. It was so loud that it'd have made my head burst. “Do that again, and I might just lose my mind.” Maverick said calmly. “I wasn't this calm when my father first did that in front of me, but we need to find a way to get your heart rate down.” I said. “I'll figure that out.” “I don't think you understand…” “I'm serious. I'll figure it out.” He said, and I left it at that. I spent a while showing him a few things about a wolf, including shifting into my wolf. He turned back when I was about to shift into my wolf. I chuckled at the innocence he possesses. He stared in awe at my wolf, swallowing hard as he just watched. “Blue is beautiful.” He said, looking at my eyes, and then, I shifted back to my human state. I caught him off guard, and he wasn't able to take his eyes off. I wasn't sure if the awe in his face had multiplied, or he was just in shock, because he fought so hard not to look at my whole body. He has good control over his mind as he kept the look between the parts he had already seen; my boobs and face. I got dressed again, and I could easily see the bulge he had from just seeing a part of me. “You do realize that we would have to get naked a lot?” I asked. “As in, have sex just to make it look very real?” “Erm…” He swallowed hard. “I… I… I really never thought of that.” “Or you're not into the idea of having sex with a 32 year old Alpha?” I asked. “No… no… it's not that. It's just uhm…” Maverick stuttered. “Don't worry. I'm just messing with you.” I smiled, touching his face. “Sign the papers, and let's seal this deal already.” Maverick went through the papers for as long as he could. The contract was perfect, stating every single thing required from both parties. Maverick cancelled a part of the contract and then signed it. “This allows me to take half of your properties if we get divorced. Cancelling it shows the mistake.” He said, and I was shook. I checked it, and he was right. I also signed the papers and we shook hands. I pulled him close, and I kissed him on the lips to stamp the deal we had just made. “That's how wolves do it.” I lied to the startled Maverick. “See you tomorrow at the courthouse.” I hurriedly left with Kylie who had somehow dispersed everyone, and I wasn't really feeling all good. Kylie drove straight to the pack house, and I hurried to my room, still feeling very nauseous. Somehow, I knew better than to call in sick, because no wolf ever feels sick. So it can only be one thing. I dragged out a pregnancy test kit. How am I pregnant?Maverick's POV “Uhm… what do you want?” I managed to asked, after swallowing the invisibly large lump that was in my throat. “So he talks?” She laughed, moving backwards. “Yeah?” I shrugged, trying to remain calm, making sure my heart was still beating normally. “You should be…” She was saying when Blue came out. She was wearing a blue soft linen gown that revealed a generous amount of cleaveage, and I could barely control myself.“Ashley? Leave the boy alone!” She said, coming to save me. “Ashley, nice meeting you again.” I said as Blue got right before me. “What are you doing?” Blue intervened. “Just speaking with the poor boy.” She chuckled, walking out on us. “I'll see you tomorrow. Have fun with your husband.” She said, coming back to kiss Blue. It was just a lip smash, and she was gone. I was looking thirstily the whole time, and I was just having memories of what had happened early that morning. “So, how are you?” Blue faced me, before coming to hug me. I gladly hugge
Maverick's POV I pulled her closer to myself, feeling my body twitch in ways I had never experienced before. My hand moved from her waist to the back of her neck, going with the flow as she pulled my tongue into her mouth with hers, and rolled it over hers. The soft gasps and moans in between the kisses made my head spin. I was already feeling myself journey when there was a knock on the door. We gently pulled away. She was just about an inch away from me, and my hands weren't on her anymore. “Alpha?” The person on the other end of the door said. “I'm coming.” Blue responded, maintaining eye contact with me. I was speechless, and that was the best kiss of my life, though I've barely had any. “Blue…” I whispered like a plea. “I'll send the flash drive, and I'll see you by evening?” Blue asked, holding one of my hands. My eyes travelled from her perfect face to her hand, and I looked at my hand and her hand, and a smile appeared on my face. “I'll see you by evening.” I said, and
Blue's POV I wasn't sure what I was feeling because I felt a bolt knot in my stomach at first, until I remembered her from the restaurant. She was the friend that was waiting outside with her boyfriend. She had said so many things that I could barely keep up with because my attention span would only contain trying to place where I had seen her.“I will get the shirt to you.” I said, smiling at her. She made a move to hug me, and I took her in. It was a very brief one.“You smell really great.” She complimented, literally blushing.“Thank you.” She said, and waved Maverick goodbye. Without speaking to me, he turned to walk into his room, and I guess I deserve the treatment in every way. I followed him in, and there was another guy in the room. He was spraying so much perfume, and trying so hard to be fly.“What in the Central Cee wannabe is going on here?” Maverick coughed, pushing him out. “Hi Miss Blue, I'm Liam, Maverick's home boy, and I just want to say I'm a big fan, and I rea
Maverick's POV “What's wrong?” I asked, hugging Chloe back. I wrapped her in my arms, making sure she'd feel alright. She kept crying, and I just stayed there hugging her. She stopped crying several minutes later, and when she seemed a little better, I sat her down. “I'll make you coffee.” I said, brewing some for her. I sent Liam a text, asking if he was aware of what had happened since they had probably gone to the same party.“Aren't you going to ask me what happened?” Chloe asked when I gave her the cup of coffee. “Not if you're not interested in speaking about it.” I said, shrugging gently.“Well, I want to.” Chloe said.“I'm all ears.” I muttered. “Well, Damian took me to this party, and when we got there, we joined a club where we had to play truth or dare.” Chloe said, and I could already guess how messy it could get. “I was asked to dance with a guy. I wasn't comfortable with it, but Damian told me to do it. It was a pretty harmless dance, and our bodies didn't even tou
Blue's POV I woke up a few hours later after vomiting a lot. I had the pack's doctor come check me out, and we had an understanding between ourselves to keep it a secret. One person is a lot to keep a secret, but then, she dares not reveal the secret. I had flashbacks of how I had shouted at Maverick, and threatened him too, and I hissed at myself in disappointment. “Maybe it's good.” I muttered to myself. “I'll have to kill him eventually, so.”I got out of bed, and I made my way downstairs. The pack was still working on what I had asked them to do. Kylie was overseeing the computer geeks we had in the pack. Allison was working on something I couldn't see clearly. They all stood to greet as I walked in. I folded my arms, and took a deep breath.“Allison, where are we with the cartel leader?” I asked. “Do we have a meeting set?” “Yes Alpha. It's by midnight, and it's with the Dark Haven cartel, their Don is Oliver West.” Allison said, and I gave a quick nod. “Let everyone get re
Maverick's POV “Huh?” I repeated. “What's wrong?”I closed the file I was holding, and I was planning to stand up to meet Blue. She looked tired and angry, but I couldn't place what it all had to do with me. I hadn't even crossed my boundary, I was on the couch.“Don't make me repeat myself. Leave now!” Blue growled at me, and the red in her eyes showed up. Just when I had thought that we were finally having a connection of some sort, she does this?“Are you sure I've done nothing wrong?” I asked, packing my bag.“Just get the fuck out!” She shouted at me, and I almost shook. “Okay.” I responded, putting all the files in my bag. I was on my way out when I stopped close to her. “Whatever is wrong, you'll get over it.” I said, making a move to touch her shoulder. “It'll be fine.”“The next time you touch me with your filthy ass hand, I'll break it, and you really shouldn't dare me.” Blue said, looking at me. I had never felt so less, so reduced. How could she have just switched fro
Blue's POV I had come to pick him all alone. I wasn't sure why, but I just preferred it that way. “Erm… were you able to get the files?” Maverick asked, stealing a glance. He had been stealing glances throughout the ride like he wasn't just holding me like his wife outside the car. “Yeah, Kylie has them, and they'd be waiting for you at home.” I responded, looking at him. I smiled at him, and he clearly eased up. “Thank you so much.” Maverick said, forcing a smile. “So, are you hungry?” I asked, pulling over at a place, still in the strictly wolf territory. “I'm famished.” Maverick said, and there was a glint of happiness in his eyes as I spoke about food. “The food they served wad pretty good, but I couldn't even take a spoon.” I chuckled dryly, patting his thighs. “I'll be back.” I hurriedly got down and got us fries and chicken from the restaurant we had stopped in. I went back into the car and dumped everything on his leg. There was a smile on his face that screamed about
Maverick's POV I sat beside my lawyer, Peter. He looked confident, and he was consistently flipping through the pages of my file. He'd cast a glance at me at every turn. “There's obviously something on your mind. Why not just let it out?” I whispered to him. I didn't move an inch away to prevent anyone from knowing that we were having a conversation, or even try to listen to what we were saying. “If we get this bail hearing, it'll be because of my expertise, and your luck.” Peter said calmly. “Let's try to win this though.”“This is the bail hearing of Maverick Gray Vs The Wolf Jurisdiction for the first degree murder of Billy Campbell.”I took a deep breath, about to watch Peter do whatever it is he has to do to get me out of here. “Prosection? Let's get this thing over already.” The man Blue had referred to as the General spoke. The defense lawyer stood up, buttoning his cloth. He was a middle aged man with a nice body, and I could tell that he was ready to cook. I looked aroun
Blue's POVI watched them take Maverick to his cell, and I felt pretty horrible. I don't know how long it takes for someone to grow on you, but he certainly grew on me. I wasn't sure if it was because of the mate bond, or because he was naturally interesting, but I was really not feeling like myself. I had been avoiding him for so long because I hated the way my chest would heave when he was there. I walked back to the car after calming myself. I had absolutely forgotten that Ashley was in the car with me. “Girl, I wasn't familiar with your game.” She giggled, winking at me also. “Kill what's definitely your biggest enemy, then pin it on the human that's standing in the way of your actual marriage? That's brilliant as fuck!”“What?!” I snapped. “I didn't do any of that.” I signalled for Jeff to drive us home. “What do you mean?” “I didn't kill anyone.” I sighed. “My initial plan was to just kill him when this six months thing is over.”“He's human and I can't let him leave and l
