Maya POV

As the car pulled up at the Pack's palace, I struggled to get out of the car because I still felt pain in my lower back from the beating I had endured in the hands of the soldiers.

It was a miracle that the Alpha King had decided to take me along to his palace, but the question that still disturbed my mind remains the same;

What are his intentions for me.

We stepped into the living room and I was overwhelmed by the huge structure. This building was bigger than the Pack mansion in Black Mist Pack.

"Come with me." I heard the voice of the Alpha King and I instinctively followed him out of the living room.

As we walked through the grand hallway, I took note of the frames that hanged up on both sides of the hallway. These were pictures of the great Alpha King before his reigns.

We arrived at a room and he pulled the door open, ushering me inside after he had stepped inside.

The atmosphere was cold and one notable feature was the giant king size bed that stood at the center of the living room.

"I know you are wondering why I had let you free from the shackles of Alpha Thomas." He spoke and I turned around to look at him. "While I still don't know what is special about you that draws my attention, I certainly hope I can make your stay in my pack very convenient."

"You have already saved my life by taking me away from the pain and torture and for this single reason, I promise to serve you and this pack for the rest of my life." I said with conviction in my heart.

"When the news about the demise of Alpha Thomas' brother came on the television, I was surprised how you are able to kill a wolf who has royal gene inside."

"He tried to rape me! I had to struggle to survive and did not know what came over me. It almost felt like....." I paused, finding the right word to put it.

"Tell me something, have you shifted before?" He asked, while he walked up close to me.

"I have never shifted in my entire life till that very moment. It was not completely a shift, but my claws and my teeth were all out."

He held my hands and looked at me with sympathy on his face, I could tell that he understands my pain.

"You are no longer in that treacherous pack. Here in my own Pack, we love everyone equally and no one is treated unjust." He let go of my hand and walked towards the window, pulling the curtains aside and allowing the rays of the sun fill up the room.

"Go ahead and freshen up, I will have the maids prepare a very sumptuous meal for you." He finished off and leaves the room.

Never in a thousand years would I have thought that I could be standing in the same space as the Alpha King.

Maybe the moon goddess actually listened to my cry afterall.

I let down my clothes and walked to the bathroom and allowed the water to touch my body. I bite my lips, as the water touched the wounds across my back.

Everything that they did to me; Alpha Thomas and my sister Sarah, I am going to make sure that they all pay for it.

I don't know what I was going to do, but I know there is going to be a way out.

Minutes after I was done taking my shower, I stepped out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around my body, when the main door opens and the Alpha King stepped inside.

I held my towel tight as he proceed to drop some clothes on the bed.

"I want you to put this on and get ready." He said and almost turned to leave, but I stopped him.

"Get ready for what?"

"There is a council meeting set for the next few meetings and I need to show my council that I finally have a woman I can call a Luna."

He cannot be serious;

Me, a Luna?

"My King, I am unfit to be a Luna."

"Why do you look down upon yourself?" I dropped my shoulders and avert my eyes away from him to the ground. "Listen, my council members are group of Alphas from the various packs. You can be sure that your Alpha would be there. Won't you like to take advantage of her situation and finally have your revenge on him?"

I loved the idea for revenge, but I still did not under his motive for making me his Luna. There are other maiden in his pack that he could choose, but went for me.

"You don't need to be nervous, take this moment and own it." His words were encouraging and comforting.

"Alright my King."

"No, call me Williams." He said with a smile before leaving the room.

Not only is he allowing me to become his Luna, even though it was temporary. He also forbids me from calling him by the title.

What is he up to.

'Maybe he likes you' Melissa stated, but I disagree with that.

The Alpha King will never step so low to date a low life like me.

'You never can tell what is going on in his mind.' Again, Melissa's had a point.

I can only watch and see what becomes the end of this whole situation.

By the time I was done wearing my outfit, I walked up to the mirror and looked at my reflection. I had concealed some of the bruises on my neck with make ups that the maids brought to me.

The outfit made me look like a Luna and for the first time in years, I can actually admire myself and my beauty.

I heard a soft knock on the door and moved to open the door.

"The name is Justin, I am the King's Beta and he asked me to bring you to the council." My anxiety increased knowing it was time.

I went back to the room and wore the ear rings that came with the make up and with one last look at the mirror, I knew I was ready.

"Let's go then." I said, after taking a deep breath.

Melissa whispered in my thoughts. “Sarah is finally gone.”The hall still trembled from the echoes of Sarah’s curses even minutes after she left. Her words, her scent and her voice still lingered long after the guards dragged her and Thomas away. That is worse than rejection.”“No,” my wolf rumbled, a growl deep in my chest. “Worse would’ve been her saying no. She didn’t. She panicked. There is hope still.”I exhaled sharply, leaning forward, elbows on my knees. Hope was dangerous. Hope got you killed. That night I slammed the door to my chambers, too furious to think, too bruised in pride to move. But by dawn, I forced myself calm. Maya’s POVI sat on my bed, twisting the hem of my dress between my fingers. My mind had been circling the same thought over and over again—Sarah. Her voice from the woods still echoed in my head, I had memories of all the times we were children and how much she hated me.I thought of the way she acted even when we were teenagers.I tried to think back to the time when we lived together. How did I miss that she was a witch? It made my skin crawl.I should have felt relief that I finally had proof of her betrayal, but instead, fear gnawed at me. Sarah wasn’t just my step sister. Like it or not, she was still my blood. And exposing her felt like ripping my own heart out.The sudden knock on my door jolted me.“Maya,” a deep voice called. My heart skipped. Alpha Williams’ POVThe maid Maya had whispered to me about—Sarah’s maid. She was smaller than I expected, wiry, her eyes darting like a cornered animal.I had the guards catch her when she was on her way out. She sneaked past the first gate but my men took her at the second.“She tried to slip through the eastern gate,” one of my men growled, shoving her forward. “Would’ve gotten away if not for the patrol.”I folded my arms, studying her. “You’ve been sneaking out at night often, haven’t you?”The maid tried to straighten, feigning calm. “I…I was only going to fetch herbs for Lady Sarah. She hasn’t been well.”I stepped closer, letting the full weight of my presence roll over her. “Lie to me again,” I said quietly, “and I’ll have your head on a spike before dawn.”Her throat bobbed. She tried to move, but the guards held her still. The scent of fear clung to her like sweat.“Take her to the red room,” I ordered. “I’ll deal with her myself.”---The room was dark save for the torchli

Maya’s POVMy palms were damp. My throat felt like sandpaper, but I forced myself to look him in the eye.“Alpha,” I began softly, “I don’t think you were desperate for wanting to kiss me.”His brows lifted, confusion flashing in his dark eyes.“Excuse me?”“I know that's how you feel, but you don't need to worry about that. I'm not here for that reason—“Excuse me?!! What the–”He nearly erupted but I stopped him.I swallowed, steadying my voice. “Because I felt the same way. That’s why I acted so… weird. It wasn’t rejection. I just—” My cheeks burned. “I’ve never kissed anyone before. I’ve never even been with a man. I didn’t know how to handle it.”He stiffened slightly, as if I had dropped a secret too heavy for the air between us.“I’m a virgin,” I admitted, voice trembling but determined. “So when you leaned close, I panicked. But inside, I wanted it. I wanted you. I wanted your lips.” I forced a shaky smile. “So don’t ever think you were forcing something on me. If anything, I
