Williams POV
"I still find it surprising that a young female wolf would take on the younger brother of Alpha Thomas and kill him." My Beta exclaimed as we watched the news of the death of Lewis. When the news came up, I was surprised because it is a well known fact that Alphas as their family all have strong blood, even stronger than the average wolf in the pack. "And from the rumours that have gone around, they say she is a weak wolf." My Beta added further as the news broadcast is rounded up. "Killing an Alphas brother is a treacherous crime that should be known amongst male wolves and not females. I believe they must have done something to her." The door opens and my Gamma stepped into the room with a sense of urgency. "My King, we have a problem on our hands." "Speak." I commanded. "The Rogue King and his cohort are pushing for the Western boaders of the kingdom and a lot of the members in BloodMoon Pack are begging for your intervention." "Rally up the soldiers and send them off the lands." I ordered. "It is not that easy your highness." I turned to my Beta Justin, so he could explain further. "The Rogues have stationed their base in these areas. If we are to send the pack soldiers from our pack to help the Blood Moon, it would be fatal loss because they are much bigger than our army." I paced around the room silently, pondering over the words of Justin for a moment. "Then we need to create a treaty with other Alphas. Prepare my convoy, we are going to Black Mist Pack." I announced. "Alpha Thomas Pack? He is mourning the death of his brother, I don't think it would be a perfect time to create treaty your highness." Justin stated. "I am the Alpha King and I rule across all the packs in this kingdom. If I decide to step my foot into a pack, I don't think anyone should be able to question my reason. Do what I have asked of you immediately." I ordered and both Justin and my Gamma Derrick stepped out of the chambers. I walked towards the shelves were piles of history books were neatly arranged. As the Alpha King it is my duty to make sure that there is peace in the land and I am going to ensure such peace becomes the order of the day. I flipped the pages of the book I have been reading; it is about the ancient history of the kingdom and how the rogues came about, when my eyes landed on a picture. Water and Fire mixed together to create a perfection; the ideal symphony that the moon goddess wants and have created. 'Do you think we will ever find our mate?' Bailor my wolf asked. He had been bugging me with this question for the past days and I was slowly getting exhausted from his disturbance. 'I already told you, when the moon goddess says the time is right we would meet our mate.' The door opens and Justin enters. "The convoy is ready your highness." He announced. I closed the placed my pen on the page which talks the symphony of the moon goddess, placing a mental note to make sure and revisit that prophecy when I come back from my trip. * 1 Hour later.... "It is a pleasure to have you in our Pack my King." Thomas stated, holding up a glass of wine. "I hope your visit here would create profitable alliance for my pack." "I wish for the same too." We clinged our glass together and I had a quick sip from the wine. "Now if you will excuse me, I would love to use the restroom." "I will direct you my King." Thomas' Luna suggested, but I stopped her before she would get up to her feet. "That won't be necessary, one of the soldier can show me the way." I gave her a knowing smile before moving out of the dinning table, trailing behind one of the soldiers. We were almost close to the restroom, when my eyes picked up on the sound of lashes and a gentle cry. I stopped in my track and follow the direction of the sound, till it lead me to a room. "What is going on here?" I asked, the moment I pulled the door opened. "Release her at once!" "And who are you to tell me what to do?" I was taken aback by the audacious words of the soldier. "My King, I thought you wanted to use the restroom." The soldier, who had been appointed to take me to the restroom asked, the moment he stepped into the room. "What is the meaning of this? And who appointed this bastard as a soldier?" I was visibly angry, because the young lady on the floor looked like she was going to die any moment. "She killed the Alpha's brother." I looked towards the lady's direction after the soldier informed me. I did not understand why I was taking a keen interest in her, but I did. Alpha Thomas and his wife also came into the room at that moment. "We heard the King's voice and thought it was ideal to come find out what is wrong." Thomas explained. "I want you to hand over this girl to me. She will be under my custody." I instructed Thomas. "But my king, she killed my brother and all I desire is to make sure that she pays for her crime." "You have every right to be angry over the death of your brother. I want you to understand however that I have given my order and you must learn to obey them...." I walk closer to him. "Except you think it is appropriate to challenge the Alpha." I stared into Thomas eyes and I noticed he was angry, but could not do anything. I understand that he wanted to teach her a lesson, but there was something about this lady that I could not resist. "Fine, she will be handed over to you my King." Thomas succumbed.Maya’s POV'She's gone.' Melissa whispered in my thoughts. “Sarah is finally gone.”The hall still trembled from the echoes of Sarah’s curses even minutes after she left. Her words, her scent and her voice still lingered long after the guards dragged her and Thomas away. My chest rose and fell as if I had just run a marathon.I had not expected what the Alpha himself did.No way.I hadn't expected to be woken from sleep to testify against my sister and Alpha Thomas.I remembered the terror in their eyes as they watched me confessing. They looked like they would murder me if they could— and they tried. Now, my heart wasn’t only racing from fear—it was torn, pulled in two directions.Even though she was a traitor, she was my sister. No matter what she had done, no matter the poison in her heart, she was still the girl who once braided my hair and whispered secrets to me, even if they were just pretense.I lowered my gaze to the marble floor. “What if I’d done more? What if I could have
Alpha Williams’ POV“You're not going?!”“No.”“Why?”Pride was a funny thing—it strangled you when you wanted to reach out, held your hand when you wanted to let go. I wanted to go after her. Moon, I wanted to run after Maya, grab her, shake her, ask why she’d run from me.But I didn’t.Because I am Alpha Williams. And an Alpha never chases.“She didn’t reject you,” Balor murmured in my head, his voice low and steady.I clenched my jaw. “She ran from me. In front of my pack, Balor. That is worse than rejection.”“No,” my wolf rumbled, a growl deep in my chest. “Worse would’ve been her saying no. She didn’t. She panicked. There is hope still.”I exhaled sharply, leaning forward, elbows on my knees. Hope was dangerous. Hope got you killed. That night I slammed the door to my chambers, too furious to think, too bruised in pride to move. But by dawn, I forced myself calm. I had to. ---The knock on my door came mid-morning.“My lord,” a guard bowed, “Alpha Thomas and Lady Sarah have arr
Maya’s POVI sat on my bed, twisting the hem of my dress between my fingers. My mind had been circling the same thought over and over again—Sarah. Her voice from the woods still echoed in my head, I had memories of all the times we were children and how much she hated me.I thought of the way she acted even when we were teenagers.I tried to think back to the time when we lived together. How did I miss that she was a witch? It made my skin crawl.I should have felt relief that I finally had proof of her betrayal, but instead, fear gnawed at me. Sarah wasn’t just my step sister. Like it or not, she was still my blood. And exposing her felt like ripping my own heart out.The sudden knock on my door jolted me.“Maya,” a deep voice called. My heart skipped. Alpha Williams.I scrambled to my feet, smoothing my hair even though my palms were damp. “Yes, Alpha?” My voice was small, uncertain.“Come with me,” he said, his tone unreadable.I hesitated for a second before pushing the door op
Alpha Williams’ POVThe maid Maya had whispered to me about—Sarah’s maid. She was smaller than I expected, wiry, her eyes darting like a cornered animal.I had the guards catch her when she was on her way out. She sneaked past the first gate but my men took her at the second.“She tried to slip through the eastern gate,” one of my men growled, shoving her forward. “Would’ve gotten away if not for the patrol.”I folded my arms, studying her. “You’ve been sneaking out at night often, haven’t you?”The maid tried to straighten, feigning calm. “I…I was only going to fetch herbs for Lady Sarah. She hasn’t been well.”I stepped closer, letting the full weight of my presence roll over her. “Lie to me again,” I said quietly, “and I’ll have your head on a spike before dawn.”Her throat bobbed. She tried to move, but the guards held her still. The scent of fear clung to her like sweat.“Take her to the red room,” I ordered. “I’ll deal with her myself.”---The room was dark save for the torchli
Maya’s POVMy palms were damp. My throat felt like sandpaper, but I forced myself to look him in the eye.“Alpha,” I began softly, “I don’t think you were desperate for wanting to kiss me.”His brows lifted, confusion flashing in his dark eyes.“Excuse me?”“I know that's how you feel, but you don't need to worry about that. I'm not here for that reason—“Excuse me?!! What the–”He nearly erupted but I stopped him.I swallowed, steadying my voice. “Because I felt the same way. That’s why I acted so… weird. It wasn’t rejection. I just—” My cheeks burned. “I’ve never kissed anyone before. I’ve never even been with a man. I didn’t know how to handle it.”He stiffened slightly, as if I had dropped a secret too heavy for the air between us.“I’m a virgin,” I admitted, voice trembling but determined. “So when you leaned close, I panicked. But inside, I wanted it. I wanted you. I wanted your lips.” I forced a shaky smile. “So don’t ever think you were forcing something on me. If anything, I
Sarah’s POV“It's been a very long day, I should—-I pushed the door open with one hand, balancing the half-eaten sandwich in the other. But the moment my eyes landed on it, my stomach sank. The door.It wasn’t closed the way I had left it. It was ajar, too wide—like someone had dared to touch what belonged to me.I dropped the sandwich on the table and rushed inside. My chest heaved as I scanned the room.Drawers were shifted. My things weren’t where I’d placed them. Someone had been here.My hands curled into fists. Maya. It had to be her. The damn little bit'chI tore through my wardrobe, flipping dresses aside, searching under the bed. And then I saw it—one of my boxes had been moved. I knelt quickly, opened it.Empty.My blood boiled. I knew it.“Maya,” I hissed through gritted teeth. My own sister was meddling.Without another thought, I stormed down the hallway, skirts swishing angrily against my legs until I reached her door. “Hello! Maya!. Come out here this instant!! I'm no
