Williams POV
"I still find it surprising that a young female wolf would take on the younger brother of Alpha Thomas and kill him." My Beta exclaimed as we watched the news of the death of Lewis. When the news came up, I was surprised because it is a well known fact that Alphas as their family all have strong blood, even stronger than the average wolf in the pack. "And from the rumours that have gone around, they say she is a weak wolf." My Beta added further as the news broadcast is rounded up. "Killing an Alphas brother is a treacherous crime that should be known amongst male wolves and not females. I believe they must have done something to her." The door opens and my Gamma stepped into the room with a sense of urgency. "My King, we have a problem on our hands." "Speak." I commanded. "The Rogue King and his cohort are pushing for the Western boaders of the kingdom and a lot of the members in BloodMoon Pack are begging for your intervention." "Rally up the soldiers and send them off the lands." I ordered. "It is not that easy your highness." I turned to my Beta Justin, so he could explain further. "The Rogues have stationed their base in these areas. If we are to send the pack soldiers from our pack to help the Blood Moon, it would be fatal loss because they are much bigger than our army." I paced around the room silently, pondering over the words of Justin for a moment. "Then we need to create a treaty with other Alphas. Prepare my convoy, we are going to Black Mist Pack." I announced. "Alpha Thomas Pack? He is mourning the death of his brother, I don't think it would be a perfect time to create treaty your highness." Justin stated. "I am the Alpha King and I rule across all the packs in this kingdom. If I decide to step my foot into a pack, I don't think anyone should be able to question my reason. Do what I have asked of you immediately." I ordered and both Justin and my Gamma Derrick stepped out of the chambers. I walked towards the shelves were piles of history books were neatly arranged. As the Alpha King it is my duty to make sure that there is peace in the land and I am going to ensure such peace becomes the order of the day. I flipped the pages of the book I have been reading; it is about the ancient history of the kingdom and how the rogues came about, when my eyes landed on a picture. Water and Fire mixed together to create a perfection; the ideal symphony that the moon goddess wants and have created. 'Do you think we will ever find our mate?' Bailor my wolf asked. He had been bugging me with this question for the past days and I was slowly getting exhausted from his disturbance. 'I already told you, when the moon goddess says the time is right we would meet our mate.' The door opens and Justin enters. "The convoy is ready your highness." He announced. I closed the placed my pen on the page which talks the symphony of the moon goddess, placing a mental note to make sure and revisit that prophecy when I come back from my trip. * 1 Hour later.... "It is a pleasure to have you in our Pack my King." Thomas stated, holding up a glass of wine. "I hope your visit here would create profitable alliance for my pack." "I wish for the same too." We clinged our glass together and I had a quick sip from the wine. "Now if you will excuse me, I would love to use the restroom." "I will direct you my King." Thomas' Luna suggested, but I stopped her before she would get up to her feet. "That won't be necessary, one of the soldier can show me the way." I gave her a knowing smile before moving out of the dinning table, trailing behind one of the soldiers. We were almost close to the restroom, when my eyes picked up on the sound of lashes and a gentle cry. I stopped in my track and follow the direction of the sound, till it lead me to a room. "What is going on here?" I asked, the moment I pulled the door opened. "Release her at once!" "And who are you to tell me what to do?" I was taken aback by the audacious words of the soldier. "My King, I thought you wanted to use the restroom." The soldier, who had been appointed to take me to the restroom asked, the moment he stepped into the room. "What is the meaning of this? And who appointed this bastard as a soldier?" I was visibly angry, because the young lady on the floor looked like she was going to die any moment. "She killed the Alpha's brother." I looked towards the lady's direction after the soldier informed me. I did not understand why I was taking a keen interest in her, but I did. Alpha Thomas and his wife also came into the room at that moment. "We heard the King's voice and thought it was ideal to come find out what is wrong." Thomas explained. "I want you to hand over this girl to me. She will be under my custody." I instructed Thomas. "But my king, she killed my brother and all I desire is to make sure that she pays for her crime." "You have every right to be angry over the death of your brother. I want you to understand however that I have given my order and you must learn to obey them...." I walk closer to him. "Except you think it is appropriate to challenge the Alpha." I stared into Thomas eyes and I noticed he was angry, but could not do anything. I understand that he wanted to teach her a lesson, but there was something about this lady that I could not resist. "Fine, she will be handed over to you my King." Thomas succumbed.Maya's POV.“What are you…what are—The words stopped midway, my throat tightened, I could barely breathe. My knees buckled and my vision, it blurred for a second.“Why?” I managed to whisper.*What do you mean by “why?” Sarah rolled off the bed. Her heels clicked gently as she swayed her hips gently, her walk seductive and slow. The lingerie she wore was made of red lace everywhere except for the nipples that were marked by a bold ‘X’Sarah’s thighs were bare, her cleavage deep and exposed, her hair flying free and lush on her shoulders. She had on her lips a red cherry lipstain with a bright smile.“I came to see you.”“W-what do you mean you came to see me?” My lips quivered, fear dancing through my body.Sarah stopped right in front of me, her shoulders did a little dance forward like she was trying to show me her boobs. She dangled them long enough to her satisfaction before she stopped and then laughed.“I can't believe you actually thought I would be leaving you. I told you, I
Maya's POV“That's the reason why you and the alpha couldn't have mates. You were meant to be together. You both are meant for a greater cause.”The seer's words kept repeating over and over in my head, echoing in my memory.“Greater cause.” I scoffed. “Greater cause and he brought a woman here.”The gossip from the maids didn't add to what I already knew.Whoever the guest was, ‘it’ was a ‘she’. She was not related to the alpha and he was having her stay in his room.“This is all your fault.” My wolf, Melissa warned me, but I paid her no mind. For all I knew, I did nothing wrong but test the alpha's commitment to me. “I am not about to throw myself into the arms of another man and get rejected again.”“You pushed him away and bruised his ego, of course he's going to reject you.”Her words became too loud, they drowned out my confidence and invoked more fear in me.“I'm sure I have nothing to do with this.” I affirmed my stance, my fist tight as my fingernails dug deep into my palm.
Maya's POV.“A joke?” The alpha got in front of me on our way out of his living room.“A joke? Is that seriously all you have to say?”I swallowed hard, greasing my parched throat for the rest of the words to come.“Yes.”“Why?”‘Tell him it's because you have trust issues.’ Melissa whispered in my thoughts. ‘Tell him it's because you were rejected before.’I moved my lips to speak but the words rolled to the back of my throat.“Speak!” Alpha William grew impatient.“The seer says we were destined for each other. Do you really believe in that nonsense?”“Nonsense?” He raised an eyebrow. “You call that nonsense?”My stomach sank. My words weren't intended to be as deep as he was taking them.“No one was made for another. Werewolves don't have soulmates.” I answered.“The seer is trying to fool us.”Alpha William looked at me one last time before he nodded and walked away.I watched as he continued, not a single glance at me until he was at his door, then, with a sharp pull at his doork
Alpha William’s POV.“Give it to me straight. What is wrong with her?” I told the seer after I had made the guards take Maya to the next room.“What did you mean by ‘this is way beyond us’?”The seer, a fragile old woman whose physical appearance had been that way since I'd known her, stared at me straight in the eye before she looked away momentarily.“Nothing is wrong with her.”“Okay? So why did you say it is way beyond us.”She hesitated with an answer. “Her wolf… it's not regular.”The walls of my stomach tightened, “Is she cursed?”“No! Far from it. She's not cursed. She is just…just so…”Her words trailed off before she had the chance to complete them which made my anxiety skyrocket through the roof.I had no control of my body and had no idea when I grabbed her arm tightly, glaring at her. “Tell me!”With horror reflecting in her eyes, she parted her lips and the words came flowng down.“Her wolf is the strongest wolf I have ever seen.”Interesting.My grip on her arm loosened
Maya's POV.The alpha had not mentioned a single word of what had happened to me yet.All he did was ensure I had my clothes on and was properly invested in my bed before he left.I could see him from the side of my bathroom while I changed into my nightwear checking for marks on my bodies. Scars, burns, anything at all. He must have peeped over a thousand times before I called his name to ask if there was something wrong.“No. Nothing at all, get some sleep. Goodnight.” But then he left me and closed the door. The moment his footsteps disappeared into the silence hallway, I adjusted out of my bed and sat up straight.“Melissa.” I whispered. “Melissa, are you up?”“Hey Maya, what's up? What's going on?”“The coast is clear. We can talk now.”Before the fire started, Melissa stirred within me. She tumbled, scratched and howled inside of me.I thought of it as nothing, not until the fire blasted quickly and she took over my body without my control, shielding me off from the fire with a
Alpha Williams’ POV.It was minutes after I had just witnessed what was before me and yet, my mouth lips wouldn't join.“What in the hell…”Justin murmured from underneath me. It was his voice that dragged me out of being lost.I looked down to see he was still pinned on the ground, nearly strangled by my grip but his eyes were in the same direction like mine, confused by what he was seeing.Just as I was.I loosened my grip on him, letting go of his collar so I could stand up to approach Maya. The untouched Maya.“What…what happened?” I was still in shock as I approached her. My Luna, May was untouched by the engulfing fire that had now burnt my Library into ashes.Everything had been burnt to ashes but yet, Maya had looked like she had been hidden in a compartment somewhere, shielded from the furnace.Even her dress was untouched. The hair on her head was untouched, her skin was shining and her face, beautiful.I reached for her arms, turning it side to side, just to make sure but
