CHAPTER 5

Bianca felt as if the world had just stopped at that point in time. Panic welled all through her body! Her eyes searched the whole room, she soon kept opening the wardrobe and cupboard just in case the little girl was hiding around.

She moved close to the window and to her relief she noticed Anna sauntering towards the gate. She was already dressed in a pink gown and a flowery ribbon as she clutched on her little doll.

Anna couldn't afford to be sacked on the first day of her job. She had been in charge of the little girl just a few minutes ago and now she was already losing Anna from her sight. She ran downstairs as Ms. Kevin emerged from behind.

“Anna?” Bianca called, moving to hug her tightly. “Where do you think you are going to go? I mean the world outside is dangerous, baby!” Bianca muttered to the girl who kept describing things with her hand. “She wants to go to the hospital to see her mother,” Ms. Kevin explained, making Bianca clasps Anna's tiny hands into her huge ones.

“I thought her mother was late, Nanny?” Bianca asked Ms. Kevin. “Anna was together with her mother when the accident happened, the accident had affected her, she thinks her mother isn't dead yet and she still expects her mother to come back to her every single day!” Ms. Kevin explained, fiddling with her wrinkled hands.

“The doctor says she will heal but she needs all the love and care to come out of such trauma! Perhaps they mean she was shocked by the incident,” Nanny explained more, making Bianca nod affirmatively.

Bianca bent down to Anna's level. “Ice cream treat, let‘s get you some ice cream,” she said, making the girl nod with a grin.

"Thank you, Mr. Finn!" Two men in suits said. "Alright, I would send you the names of the entrepreneurs we would be sending over!" Felix said to his investors.

"Alright! We would await the names, bye." The investors said before leaving. Felix turned before glaring at his secretary.

"Sir, your daughter Fiona called a while ago. She wanted to remind you that her school parent meeting in her school would be held tomorrow!" His secretary said.

"Fine!" Felix said turning to leave but halted at his secretary's next speech. "But you also have a meeting tomorrow by nine!" His secretary muttered. Felix sighed before staring into space for a few minutes.

"Cancel my appointment tomorrow so I can attend Fiona's school!" He said before walking into his office. Felix rubbed his temple and ruffled his hair before groaning aloud the minutes he got to his office. He had many files to sort out and a company meeting to attend later in the day but he wasn't focusing, he had been on his desk for hours.

He looked at the family picture plunged on his table, they all had a smile plastered to their face. They all looked happy like every complete family but all that was shattered by death, death had taken the woman he loved and the mother of his lovely kids.

His gaze flickered to the expensive watch wrapped around his wrist. Seven hours to be exact, he stared at his best friend who had entered his office and was sitting opposite him.

His friend has been talking for a while now but all Felix's attention wasn't on what he was saying, rather all his thought was wandering around that lady with dirty brown hair.

What was she doing right now? Had she met Fiona and Hunter? Would she be okay taking care of Anna? He almost cursed out loud with frustration. Felix cared so much for his children and wouldn't want anything that would hurt them.

That was the main reason he had sacked other maids and had refused to hire anyone not until his mother and his best friend here had made him change his mind.

Even with much doubt about this new Maid he had nothing else to do, he had already hired her, and there was no going back on his words. How could he leave his children in the hands of someone he didn't know of her background? He was always doing a background check to be on the safer side.

He knew Ms. Kevin was too old to protect herself or the children which made him curse out. “What is going on with you buddy? The company hasn't been doing so well since Lisa died, you don't even look like you are bothered one bit!” David said, his hand waving at Felix's face as he spoke.

“Don't forget that this company didn't do anything that caused you any personal pain, this is business! Why don't you leave all personal things aside?” David said but Felix only smirked as he stared at his Best Friend. “I have money, I can just cover up any issue the company is facing, I have another company, hotel, speak to me about something else,” Felix boosted out.

He knew David was only trying to make him feel bad for neglecting work but with the problem and issues going on in the company it was something small that David couldn't handle in a blink of an eye.

Felix and his best friend had partnered their business together even with the long age gap, their friendship was nearly perfect. David sat down dressed in a casual outfit, the one that didn't signify that he was coming to an office.

“Who said I was doing this personally?” Felix asked as the door of his office plunged open showing his Secretary who dropped two cups of coffee before leaving.

“Well, look at you! You look miserable, you should quit drinking and focus more on your daughters or rather go on a blind date!” David advised as he sipped from his coffee.

“According to chemistry. Alcohol is a solution and for blind dates, I don't think it is possible!” Felix said, sipping from his coffee. “Alcohol won't solve your problem, Felix. Trust me and try going on a blind date, wouldn't it be nice to sit at the dinner table with your wife and kids while enjoying a good food prepared by your wife?” David said, wiggling his head.

Hector tried to defend himself but he was pinned to what to say. “Don't argue with me. You have to move on Felix, for you and for your kids!” David said, sipping from the coffee.

"I'm not interested in getting married and I have no time for blind dates because I'm busy enough with work!" Felix said.

“Alright If you say so! The meeting will commence soon, you need to strive, I know it isn't easy for you but Felix trusts me when I say you need to act more like yourself!” David said standing up from his seat but Felix stopped him before he could leave.

“My mom got a maid for the kids, she came in this morning,” Felix said as a wide grin appeared on David's face. “That's great news, at least some progress in the family! Your mind can be at rest because you have someone to watch over the kids when you are here,” David explained, Felix nodded in agreement.

The sound of a phone bopping was heard! David looked at his phone. “I have a date with Hannah, I wouldn't want to keep her waiting, I trust you with the board meeting! We will talk later,” David said standing up from his seat.

Felix stood up as they side hugged. “Tell Hannah I said hi, ” Felix said, earning a nod from David. David walked out of the office as Felix plunged on his seat before breathing heavily.
