The other males weren't much competition, so Alpha Judah pretended as if it were just three alphas and ten girls in the forest arena. He caught onto the little blond's scent almost immediately. Judah noticed that she was most likely in her fertile state since her smell varied a bit and sometimes was strong and sometimes not.
Naturally, Judah's wolf reacted to the scent, but like him, his wolf didn't like her no matter how fertile the blond was and how good she smelled. Judah needed to focus.
He knew that the blond and the raven girls were working together, which meant it would be harder to find them. They had already started making false tracks, and he'd have to go into a clearing and trace the scent all over again. It was exhausting and quite annoying, but he respected their intelligence in this arena despite knowing they weren't acquainted. It also meant that his future queen would be smart and strategic, which was a plus.
Eventually, Judah found the common denominator; the scent trails always ended in the outskirt of the clearing, but they always got stronger and trailed inwards towards the largest pine tree in the middle.
Judah allowed himself a wolfy grin, quite proud of himself for figuring it out the girls' strategy so quickly. He quickly ran over to the tree and looked up, hoping to see the girls sitting on the tree branches. It was hard to see into the pine trees since the tree leaves were thick and long, but he caught a flash of their white and red clothing and knew they were up there.
Judah heard the girls' slight whimpers and their heavy breathing. He would've just climbed up the tree and taken his mate, but his wolf was way too big, and he wanted to give her a chance to come willingly. Judah decided to shift because he knew if he tried to bark up the tree, he would alert the other wolves. The girls weren't from his pack, and they didn't share a mindlink with him, so he needed to talk.
He looked up at the tree and started to speak.
"Hello, girls. I'm Alpha Judah Fenrir from GreyHound pack. I've found you, so you can come down now. I'm not going to hurt you," he said and waited for a few moments, but he was met with complete silence.
"Girls-? Ouch," Judah hadn't finished his words yet when something hit his forehead, and he saw it was a piece of stone when he looked down. He growled and looked back up into the tree, seeing the raven-haired staring back at him, barely visible past the leaves.
"Buzz off, okay? None of us want this; just go away," Gray said.
Alpha Judah just stared at her. To most, Gray seemed plain, but for Judah, she was stunning. The sun was still setting, and even from below, he could see how she sparkled in the last remaining rays of the sun.
For Judah, Gray had the most perfect, round little nose with beautiful honey-pooled colored eyes that seemed to cry. Judah knew that the lady up was a mix of Asian race and American, which only made her more beautiful. She looked so innocent even though her hair was tangled in some pine leaves. He almost wanted to laugh at how cute she looked at the moment but looked could be deceiving, and so far, all she showed him was cunning and how slick she was. He had to be careful with this one.
"Aren't you tired of running? Come down, little ones. I can show you a place to rest your heads properly," Judah said before hopefully looking up at the two of them in the tree.
Gray seriously looked like she was contemplating it. Judah finally thought she would give in, but a bigger stone was thrown at him.
"Yeah? So when I wake up, you can be buried with your dangling thing and balls inside of me against my will, forcing me to carry your pups. I think not," Gray replied.
Luckily, Judah caught the stone before it hit him right above his eyes, but despite his kind and patient disposition, this wasn't something he could be laid back about. If he didn't grab and mark her soon, she could belong to someone else, and that couldn't happen. He had eyes on Gray first.
Judah dropped the big stone and cleared his throat rather loudly. "I'm giving you a chance to come on your own, but if you don't play nice, then I guess I'll just have to come up there myself."
Gray rolled her eyes. She knew that every Alpha in the game pretended to be a good guy, trying to make her trust them. What a classic excuse for maniac Alpha.
"I guess you will, then."
Judah nodded to himself and surveyed the tree, trying to find a way he could squeeze between the tight space of branches without getting his fur stuck. He shifted and started to dig his large claws into the thick tree bark, pulling himself up. The girls shifted in the tree and tried to move away.
The blond girl threw a large stone with all her might, and it hit Judah on the head. His wolf yelped and then growled, wanting to get this over with. He wanted to claim that monolid honey-pooled eyes girl as soon as possible, and he could smell the other alphas getting closer. The least he needed to do was rub his scent on her, and then nobody would dare challenge him for her.
Judah retracted his claw from the tree and huffed, running in a circle around the tree and rubbing his face against the bark. Doing it may deter the other Alphas a little bit and make them know that someone has marked the tree.
He sat down, and the two Alphas trotted up to the tree, sniffing the air. They knew their prize was hidden in the tree and planned to rip the other Alpha apart to get it.
Gray silently prayed to the Goddess that the Alpha was shamelessly naked before her and Alice's eyes would disappear. Although she knew that the after-shift tends to be naked, seeing this man's dangling thing was sore in her eyes. She observed as the Alpha crawled back down the tree. "He's giving up?" Alice asked her. "Maybe. A size like his wolf would not fit in any branch of this tree," Gray replied. "He's going to wait for us to go down."Gray knew Alphas never gave up easily, especially if females were involved. She was proven correct as the Alpha scent-marked the tree and sat down, waiting patiently for the two Alphas to show up. And when they finally arrived, they were extremely slow approaching Alpha Judah. But when he didn't move and showed no threat, the Alphas lunged at him. Gray cringed as she watched them attack the first Alpha. As much as she wanted the alphas to leave her alone, she didn't want Judah to get seriously hurt. Clearly, he knew how to fight and was holdin
Judah was pissed because he had been standing there under a freaking Christmas tree, fighting two other Alphas over one girl. He was pissed that the other Alphas wanted the blond girl, assumed he wanted her too and attempted to rip him to shreds over her. And lastly, Judah was pissed that he had to do all of this and more just to plant his seed in some female for some heirs and have to put up with said female for the rest of his life. He loved a challenge just as much or even more than the next person, but this haquihana female was just ridiculous. He wanted a mate who would be smart and athletically capable of producing strong pups, but she had far exceeded his expectations. Wolves can climb trees, but they prefer to stay on the ground. That's what made Judah stop for a moment to think if it was even worth it to chase down a female as crazy as she was, a female that was crazy enough to climb a tree only to escape the inevitable fate of being bred by some desperate male wolves like
Gray face-planted on the ground and then frantically stood up in confusion. She looked behind her only to see her hind paw caught in a hole between the rocks and tried to pull it, but it didn't budge. She panicked, especially when she saw the Alpha run over to where she was stuck, doing a sort of cocky victory lap and then stopping behind her. Gray threw a fit, assuming the worst. As Judah approached her from behind, she started crying, whimpering, and making all kinds of noises to try and keep him at a distance. Alpha Judah wasn't trying to mount her at the moment, but the way Gray was crying and whimpering made him feel like a monster so he decided to explain himself. He shifted into his human form and stood up. He moved to her side and reached out his hand to her. "Look, I'm not going to hurt you," he said. Gray was in doubt, so she started to thrash around, snapping her jaws at his outstretched hand. Judah wasn't stupid and careful enough to get his hand near the desperate wo
They finally approached a small cabin in the woods, and Gray sighed in relief because, finally, she'll have the chance to get off from the Alpha's arms. They got inside and were surprised when she saw a huge bed in the middle, two couches on the side, a sink, and a fridge. It was actually a furnished cabin to be exact. There was a fireplace and a small kitchen on the lower part of the bed. What pissed Gray the most was the two towers that were formed into two birds kissing and a message saying enjoy their stay. Gray wanted to scream and kick those towels off the bed if only her leg wasn't hurting. They mock her about her impending doom, which pisses her off. Judah sat her down on the edge of the bed and then walked over to a door she hadn't noticed once they walked in. He reached in, pulled out an oversized sweater that looked like it would fit him, and swallowed her. He slipped on a pair of sweatpants he found and walked back to her. Neither said anything as he tried to help her i
They say Haquihanas are viewed as the substitute for a lost mate and that their only purpose was to breed. Since fate has abandoned them from the moment they are born, some wolves view them as someone who can do their plaything while waiting for their real mate. Gray refused to let anyone go near her after she was busted about being a Haquihana. She doesn't let anyone look down on her, especially her Alpha. She hated him to the core, and he was the reason why she was here with the dangerously sexy Alpha. Gray watched as Judah pulled a box out of the cabinet in the upper cabinet above the sink. When she looked at it closely, it was a medical kit. She also saw him pulling a bottle of something called gin, as she could see on the label. She glared at him when he gently grabbed her leg and pulled it on his lap. Judah wanted to ignore the glare, but he felt her glare burning holes through the top of his head while working on her wounded ankle. To ease the tension between them, he decide
"You want to bet?" Gray asked him, confident she would never fall to this hungry alpha. "Do you have anything to bet on?" Judah asked her jokingly. Gray thought for a moment. "I do, hungry Alpha," she said. Judah heaved a sigh. Talking to this drunk woman will be futile. As much as he wanted to have her now, he postponed it. "My name is Judah, and not a hungry Alpha," he said. "Whatever, Judah," she said. "You're still a hungry alpha for me; otherwise, you wouldn't be here with me in this cabin if you were not," she said. Judah smiled softly at her."Isn't that what this game is? I needed a mate, and you are available. I can't see why I should explain myself to you, Gray." "Correction against my will," Gray replied, feeling like everything was spinning. "Do Haquihanas don't have a choice to choose who they want to mate with?" Judah didn't say anything because he didn't know the answer. It's the council that should answer her question. He sighed and sat on the couch, grabbing
Judah stood up beside the open window and crossed his arms. He needed some fresh air, and getting near Gray was dangerous for now. "Marking will come with a terrible burning pain at first and then feverish symptoms, but hopefully, you'll live," he explained. He pulled one of those couches and sat down as he watched Gray writhe around on the bed. Gray was trying to understand why marking was freaking painful, and she asked the Goddess why she was being punished like this. "I know the situation isn't ideal for you, but it isn't about you or what you want anymore. You have to accept it, and things will be easier for us," Judah added. Gray wanted to scream curses at Judah or attack him and do something, but her body wouldn't allow her to do it. Her body was busy succumbing to the pain, and all she had to do was to scream, sobbing, and feeling embarrassed. Gray was weak and would try to take good care of her. She doesn't want that. Of all things, that is the last thing she would allow
Judah saw Gray crying but decided not to say anything. Whatever emotions she was dealing with wasn't his business, and she would not talk to him about it anyway. But he felt a little sympathy for her, though. Gray has been taken away from everything she had known and thrown into the forest to be chased by animalistic men who couldn't wait to claim her. Judah couldn't blame her actions so far but couldn't tolerate any more of it. He was doing it for a cause, to ensure the survival of his pack and to have the crown, which was his birthright. "Do you want to go outside? I mean to have some fresh air," Judah tried to talk to her. Gray looked at him, irritated. She didn't know when he would take a hint. She wasn't in a conversing mood, and she thought that she had made that clear. Gray looked down into her half-empty mug of tea and sighed. "Leave me alone, please," she whispered. Judah saw that she wasn't trying to be disrespectful and that she really needed her space. He decided to
