Vivian was still on the ground, still in the same position Alpha Styx had left her in. Recently, she had been too lazy to do so many things and one of them was stressing her body. This would be her first time in the palace after all and she had no idea where she had to go. So, she just decided to wait for the Alpha here until she remembers her. Who knows, he might fall for her then after seeing how stubborn and cute she is.
"What are you doing?" asked Karl, walking into the courtroom. Vivian raised her head, staring into his eyes and then let out a frustrated sigh. "I was only trying to seduce him, you know. He said I was his sex toy after all and I was trying to show him how thankful I am," Karl gazed at her for a while as if he was trying to possess everything that was happening. For a while, he couldn't help but wonder if she was the same person that tried to kill herself a few hours ago. Now, she was just sitting down here acting all... childish? He let out a deep sigh and said; "Alpha Styx instructed me to take you to your room" "Really?!" Vivian exclaimed, she stood up and dusted her gown with a huge smile on her face. Her behavior left Karl confused with lots of questions on his mind. Could it be that he was wrong and just like every other lady, she was planning on winning the Alpha's heart. Could it be that he was wrong in his judgement?Minutes passed and Karl still hasn't moved. He stood still, his eyes staring deep into Vivian's eyes as if he was trying to see deep into her soul. If only she was a werewolf then it would have been easier for him to find out what was going on in her mind but that would only happen if she did allow him to know what she was thinking."This way...my lady," he walked out of the courtroom with Vivian walking behind him.Unlike earlier, the maids were walking around this part of the palace, carrying out their task. On sighting Karl, they stopped in the task and bowed their heads. For a while, Vivian couldn't help but wonder what was going on in their mind. Just like the maids back in her palace, would they also despise her and gossip about her? Would they think that she was a curse and someone that wasn't fit for their Alpha? Vivian knew too well she shouldn't care about what they think, they were just maids and their thoughts shouldn't bother her. But then ,she had lived her entire life trying to please everyone, her father, the ministers, her people and even those ordinary maids. All her life she had lived in pain, her mother left her and her father hated her. She was locked away from the world and when she was finally given the chance to live her life, she found out about something that would ruin her. She thought she could finally be happy and do everything she never had the chance to do but then life showed its dark side once again. She kept telling herself it was just for three months. It was only for three months and even though she was trying so hard to be happy, she knew too well the next three months won't be an easy journey for her. Life has never been a bed of roses for her, instead it was filled with thorns, thorns that she has no choice but to thread on.They reached a part of the palace, and not too far Vivian noticed a painting on the wall. Curious, she stopped following Karl and walked towards the painting. She stood in front of the painting, staring at it with a blank expression on her face. It was the painting of the Alpha but there was something else above the painting that piqued her interest. The woman standing beside Alpha Styx and other than that, his eyes. They were calm and also...warm."It seems running away is kind of your hobby, my lady," said Karl, standing behind Vivian. Minutes passed and Vivian hasn't moved nor spoken a word. The woman in the painting felt familiar and she felt like she had seen her before but where, exactly? "The woman, who is she?" She found herself asking. Even when she knew too well she wasn't supposed to be interested in the painting or anything about the palace. Karl stared at Vivian as if he was contemplating whether he should reply to her or just keep quiet and ignore her. He knew too well, he should give her an answer but there were some things in the palace that were meant to be kept a secret... forever. It was an order from Styx not to ever talk about the woman in the painting. The painting was meant to be hidden or destroyed but Styx refused to do so, reasons best known to him; "That...I won't be able to answer that," "Why?" "It was an order by Alpha Styx,"She hummed in response. She returned her direction to the painting, refusing to walk away from it. The woman in the painting was a beauty, one that would leave any man filled with nothing but desires. Her long brown hair would leave any woman jealous and her blue eyes were just... captivating. The woman...Vivian could have sworn she had seen her somewhere. But also, she knew she hadn't met this woman but there was something about her eyes that she finds difficult to explain. She removed her eyes from the woman and turned her eyes to the man in the painting, Alpha Styx. She kept staring at him and as if she remembered something."The King, no I mean Alpha Styx?" "What about him?" "He's alive, right?""Huh?" Karl stared blankly at Vivian."He's supposed to be old and bedridden?!""He's supposed to be old and bedridden?!" Vivian yelled. She didn't remember when she saw him for the first time in the courtroom. No woman would be in her right senses, hearing a man and her so-called groom calling her a sex toy. "And you believed it," Karl replied, raising his eyebrows. He would have told her back in the forest but he thought it would be more fun when she realized that the rumors were wrong. He was already anticipating how her reaction would be but then Alpha Styx had to ruin all the fun. Why must he call her a sex toy the second they arrived at the courtroom?! But...this is also enough to compensate for his previous loss."Don't blame me, blame the rumors!" Vivian snapped. Come to think about it, how come she didn't remember when she saw him back at the courtroom? She...like every single person in her kingdom had the belief that the man she was getting married to was an old, bedridden man. That was why they were more eager to get her married to him. They hated her
'Drowning!'She gasped for air, trying so hard to open her eyes but she couldn't. She felt suffocated and no matter how hard she tried to get out, she couldn't. Her breath was getting uneven and then..."I told you I'll be back for you didn't I?"A soft voice sounded in her ears, that voice. It was the same voice she had gotten used to over the ears. The voice that had come to hunt her ever since her mother left her alone."You can never get away from me, little girl!""I'll soon be with you,""Ahh," Vivian moaned softly, opening her eyes. She looked around, trying to process where she saw. She sat down, wiping the sweat that had formed on her forehead. She turned to look at the open window. It was past midnight already, she stood up and walked towards the balcony. Vivian was still in her ripped wedding gown. Her eyes were calm and sad. She brushed her fingers through her hair, frustrated. She let out a sigh, staring keenly at the moon. There were a lot of things going on in her min
"Eloise," Vivian repeated. "Yes, my lady""You have a beautiful name," said Vivian. She stood up, helping Eloise to her feet."Thank you, my lady," she bowed, showing her gratitude.Vivian smiled, she gazed at her for a while, walking back to the balcony. She closed her eyes, enjoying the way the morning breeze felt on her skin, it made her feel warm and comforted. "My lady?" Eloise called, playing with her fingers nervously. She completely forgot the main reason she was there in the first place."Hmm,""The king asked me to inform you to come to dining hall immediately,"Shocked, she opened her eyes and turned around to face Eloise. She was excited and at the same time curious about why he wanted to see her when he told her to stay far away from him. Not that she was going to that anyway."Why?" She asked, her eyes glowing with interest."I have no idea about that, my lady, " Eloise responded with a bow. Vivian's lips curled into a huge smile. Could it be that he decided not to st
"Hell is a great place too, you know?" A cold voice sounded behind Vivian, sending goosebumps down her spine."Alpha Styx!" Eloise bowed, trying so hard to calm her beating heart. She could have sworn that she didn't see the Alpha, so where did he appear from? Unconsciously, Vivian bit her lips, hoping that he didn't hear everything she said. She was planning on seducing him but thanks to her loose mouth, it seems she lost that chance before she could even do a thing."Alpha Styx," she said with a faux smile, turning around to face him. For a moment, she couldn't help but get lost in his eyes. 'Damn! Why is he so handsome?!' her lips curled into a seductive smile and couldn't help but start to imagine how it would be if she finally got the chance to 'sleep' with him.Styx noticed the way her eyes were lingering on his body, making him feel disgusted. His eyes became colder and there was a dark aura exuding from his body. Just a snap of his finger and she would be dead. He so much w
Few days ago, Vivian would have shivered in fear and apologized out of fear. But then, life had to teach her the right way by giving her the greatest punishment she could ever receive. She could choose to listen to Styx and scramble away in fear but she refused to do so. She chose to get on his nerves, invade his space and place herself forcefully in his life. She was so damn keen on making Alpha Styx fall in love with her and she was going to make sure that happens."No," she rejected, crossing her arms on her chest. Styx's lips curved into an evil grin, "Lock her up in her room, now!" He ordered the guards.Vivian smiled, her eyes staring into Styx's eyes. She knew at that moment she was to plead for her dear life but since she decided to be rebellious then she was going to do it perfectly."Please, my lady, '' one of the guards said, his tone laced with respect. Alpha Styx might have asked her to be locked up but that doesn't change the fact that she might end up to be their Luna
"Ahh!" Vivian screamed, she closed her eyes in fear and stopped herself from looking down. She could hear the loud beating of her heartbeat against her ribcage. Any moment from now, she was expecting her body to meet the ground and for her brain to split into two and then she ould be dead. Her heartbeat was getting louder and faster. She waited patiently for her to fall to the ground but instead...She felt a strong arm wrapped around her, holding her in his arms. The scent...that scent was something she would never forget even in her sleep...Alpha Styx. She slowly opened her eyes, staring at the man that was staring back at her with an emotion she was finding difficult to understand.Seconds, minutes passed and they were still lost in each others eyes, both with different thoughts and emotions. "Fool!," Styx muttered but loud enough for Vivian to hear. And without thinking twice, he dropped her body on the cold ground."Ahh!" She winced in pain, holding her wrist. "You crazy..." Sh
'She kissed him!'Those words kept repeating in his brain and Styx felt his entire body go numb. The feelings and emotions he's been trying so hard to forget came rushing back.Vivian was expecting him to push her away but instead, he held her closer. They both got lost in each other's embrace and they couldn't stop but yearn for each other's touch. He pushed her to the wall, caressing her body. He loved the taste of her mouth and no matter how hard he tried to fight those feelings he couldn't.He planted kisses down her neck to her collarbone. His emotions were something he couldn't control and it was pissing him off. Her lips, that particular moment felt so familiar and he couldn't stop the images in his head no matter how hard he tried. He thought he had completely gotten over it, he thought he had finally moved on from the past but still...he was still trapped back then with her."Ama," he whispered softly.Suddenly, he opened his eyes, staring at the girl he was kissing. As if h
Styx stood on the balcony, staring into space. The look in his eyes was deep and distant. His eyes seemed boundless like the universe. Mysterious and unfathomable yet captivating.Seconds, minutes passed but he was still standing in the same position. He was lost and he needed something, anything to clear his mind. He reached for the box of cigarettes on the table and lit one of them. He stared at it for a while, contemplating whether he should go ahead or not. Left with no choice, he placed it in his mouth and took a draw from it. The smoke that escaped from his lips formed a wispy cloud in front of him that held his attention for a while. His mind was in chaos and he was slowly losing his mind. He shouldn't have kissed her, better still he shouldn't have saved her. "You said you would stop smoking," said Theo, walking in with Karl.Karl walked to the balcony, standing beside Styx. He stared into his eyes, hoping he could know what was going on in his mind but like always it was di
