I dropped the heart beside her limp body, watching it twitch weakly against the cold floor. The metallic scent of blood thickened the air, seeping into my skin, my hair, my soul—but I didn’t flinch. I welcomed it. I fed on it.

She was the third.

And she wouldn't be the last.

I turned back to the mirror on the dresser, blood splattered across my cheeks and neck like war paint. My reflection stared back at me—calm, deadly, unrecognizable from the girl they once tossed aside like garbage.

Now, I was the executioner. And judgment had only just begun.

I grabbed a towel from the chair in the corner, wiping my hands. A clean exit mattered just as much as a clean kill. No witnesses. No fingerprints. No loose ends.

I unlocked the door and stepped into the hall, closing it silently behind me. My wolf still stirred beneath my skin, satisfied yet hungry. Her growl rumbled softly in my chest like a warning bell, a reminder that vengeance wasn't done—not even close.

The corridor was dark, si

The trees towered above us like silent witnesses, branches clawing at the moonlight as we moved deeper into the forest. The air was damp, thick with the scent of earth and rain, and every step I took felt heavier than the last.He hadn’t let go of my hand. Not once.I tugged gently, then harder—but his grip was like steel wrapped in velvet. Warm, firm, immovable. Possessive.“Let go,” I snapped, yanking my arm again. He didn’t even flinch. Just kept walking, boots crunching softly over leaves and gravel. His profile was lit faintly by the moon—sharp, composed, unreadable.“I said let go.”Finally, he stopped. Turned toward me. His eyes shining with triumph like he already won this“I like it when you're feisty,” he murmured, his voice low and smooth like sin. “It makes the endgame more... satisfying.”I jerked my hand free, this time with force. His fingers slid from mine, reluctantly, like they didn’t want to obey. He watched me with a gaze that sent shivers down my spine—not because

“Who...what are you?"The words stumbled out of my mouth, barely louder than a breath. My throat felt dry, raw, like I had swallowed a handful of needles. The man—or whatever he was—stood so still, his blood-red eyes fixed on mine, glowing like embers in the gloom. He tilted his head, lips twitching into something that wasn’t quite a smile. "Just passing by," he said casually, his voice smooth like silk soaked in poison. "Saw you wandering. Thought I’d say hi."That smirk. That voice. That eerie calmness. My heart pounded harder. He didn’t look like someone who just passed by. He looked like a nightmare carved into flesh. My eyes narrowed. “You’re not from around here.”He didn’t answer. Instead, his gaze drifted down my body, slow, deliberate, like he was taking inventory of everything he could rip apart and savor.“What are you?” I asked, barely containing the tremor in my voice. He smirked wider, and his eyes darkened until they were almost black. That same hunger shimmered behind

He smirked. That same devilish, knowing smirk like he knew something I didn't. Like he held all the cards. Like he already knew I’d fold.He stepped inside, the door clicking shut behind him without him even glancing back. His boots echoed softly against the polished wood floor as he closed the distance between us, slow and deliberate. My breath hitched. Not in fear. But in disbelief."What are you doing here?" I asked again, my voice firm, I wasn't about to show fear.He didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he just looked at me like I was some intricate puzzle he had already solved. Then he raised his hand—elegantly, lazily—and extended it toward me."Come with me," he said smoothly, like it was the most natural thing in the world. "Let’s make this easy—for both of us."My eyes dropped to his outstretched hand, then snapped back to his face."I’m not going anywhere."His expression didn’t falter. He tilted his head slightly, studying me like a hawk studies its prey."You belong to me,

I felt overwhelmed with feelings. I seriously didn't know how to feel. Whether to cry or just scream to remove the ache that never seemed to leave my chest. I had always known they were innocent. I had always known that they had been killed unjustly. My mother would never hurt anyone. Not intentionally. But what breaks my heart now, what really shatters me from the inside out, is that after so many years of being spat on, cast aside, labeled the traitor's daughter—it's finally confirmed. She was innocent. But it's too late. They're dead. Killed for something they knew nothing about. Buried with lies they never had the chance to clear. I sighed, long and slow, pushing my room door open and stepping inside. The moment the door shut behind me, I leaned against it, letting the cool wood press against my back. There was this burning in my chest—an ache that throbbed with every breath. It wouldn’t go away. Not until I found whoever orchestrated that bloodbath and pinned it on my mother

“What is it, Matteo?" I asked as soon as I stepped out of the car and he just kept looking at me like there was something he was looking for.I knew Matteo. He was very smart and one wrong move he'd know that something was up. It's not that I don't trust him, but I was just being careful. At this point even walls have ears. I didn't want to talk about my recovery in this palace because I didn't know who was watching or listening.“Where have you been? I've been looking everywhere for you. You had me worried, especially with what we found this morning." That immediately got my attention."What happened?” "Let's talk in your office,” he said and I nodded as we started making our way to my office.I couldn't help but wonder what happened that had him like this. Like he had seen a ghost from the past or something. If this was one of Domenico's tricks he'll hate what I have planned out for him.We finally reached my office and Matteo moved aside for me to enter and I did. He entered, clos

Family. That one word kept ringing in my head like a curse without cure. Family. I didn't know how to feel about that or what to think.Raven was sitting beside me in the passenger seat looking lost in her thoughts just like me.“Who do you think could be behind it?" She finally asked as she turned to me.If I say I had an answer to that I'd be lying because who…which of my family members that was still alive that could have been responsible for what happened that night. My uncle? Of course not. That night took his wife—his mate and beloved and he almost died.Nothing made sense. My mother lost almost all her family that night and the ones that survived only showed their faces when necessary so in reality Dante and my uncle Marcos were the only family I had left. Then who could it be? Does she consider one of the council people as family? Could it be what she meant? Or does she mean someone very close to me?“I don't know Raven. I don't know—I was so young back then and hadn't even
