Chapter 66

Natalia POV

My eyes have difficulty opening. I am laying on my side and there is a gag wrapped around my mouth, keeping me from making any noise. My hands and feet are bound together and I am unable to move. The air is thick with a woodsy smell and I am having a hard time breathing. The gag in my mouth keeps me from being able to gasp for air. Slowly my eyes adjust to the darkness around me and they widen at the sight around me. I am surrounded by purple, bell shaped flowers. Wolfsbane. I am surrounded by wolfsbane. Reaching back into the recesses of my mind, I search for Adeline.

'Adeline,' I whisper weakly in my mind.

'I am here,' her voice and presence is weak within me.

'What happened?' I ask her hoping that she remembers more than what I do.

'I don't know,' Adeline's voice is fading softer and softer. 'But I feel myself fading away.'

'Adeline,' I call out in my mind as loud as I can but there is no response. 'Adeline,' I whisper again but she is gone.
