Chapter 68

Natalia POV

Racing from the bathroom with my hand covering my neck I swing the pink wooden door to the room open and rush through it. Adelle is waiting for me on the other side of the door with a pleasant look on her face that drops instantly when she sees the shock spread across my face. "My mark!" I exclaim loudly. "My mate's mark is gone."

Adelle cocks her head to the side and stares at me for a moment, as if to judge whether I can handle the truth or not. "Magic from other realms does not work here," she says simply.

"It wasn't magic," I cry out loudly. "It was my mate's mark. My soulmate's mark."

Cocking her head to the other side, Adelle stares at me in strange amusement. "Do you not believe that being able to find one's soulmate is a form of magic?"

"No!" I yell out. "It is a gift from the Moon Goddess." Tears are streaming down my face as I try to find the marks where Victor's canines pierced my skin.

"A gift from Selene herself," Adelle says with a bit of a ch
